Abstract

Understanding of mathematical concept is one of basic skills that must be developed in according to the purpose of mathemathics learning. However, the reality at school shows that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low.  Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach can be used as a solution. The purpose of this research is to compare students’ understanding of mathematical concepts who learn with RME approach and conventional learning. This type of research is a quasi experiment with static group design. The instruments is tests of understanding of mathematical concepts. Based on data analysis concluded that RME approach gives positive influences to the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Solok Selatan.Keywords – Understanding of mathematical concept, Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, Conventional Learning

Abstract

Based on curriculum 2013, teaching materials should be able to facilitate students to beactive in learning process. However, in reality, the teaching materials used by the teacher are not accordance yet with curriculum 2013. There are no questions that can guide students to find theorems or principles of the topic. This research aims to develop a valid and practice student worksheet  based on problem based learning model. By using this model, we expect students can involve in learning process actively.This research uses the Plomp development model. It has three phase, these are preliminary research phase, development or prototyping phase, and assessment phase.  The research subjects were students of grade XI. The techniques of collecting data are observation, interviews and  questionnaires. Questionnaire data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. While the data from observations and interviews were analyzed by descriptive techniques. The results of research that we obtain are valid and practice student worksheet. Based on content aspect, percentage value of student worksheet validity is 86,2% which is in very valid category. Meanwhile based on linguistic aspect,percentage value of student worksheet validity is 97,23% which is also in very valid category.Furthermore, the student worksheet is practical because they can be used easily by students. The percentage practicality of LKPD is 94% which is in the very practical category. Keywords -Student Worksheet, Problem Based Learning Model, Linear Programming

Abstract

Learning motivation is the one of supporting factor that students’ success in learning mathematics. Good students motivation can make students have confidence and a sense of respect in the learning environment on the other hand low motivation will reduce the students’ confidence so that it affects students learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of student’ motivation at XI IPS SMA Negeri 5 Padang in learning mathematics on matrix material.Keywords — Learning Motivation of Mathematics.

Abstract

Understanding maths is essential for students. However, class XII MIA SMA Negeri 2 Bayang pupils' mathematics knowledge is low since the learning model has not supported it. The Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) model is used to solve this problem. Descriptive and quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent posttest-only control group design is used. The population was 2023/2024 SMA Negeri 2 Bayang class XII students. For sampling, researchers utilised simple random sampling. Experimental class was XII MIA 1 and control class was XII MIA 2. Quizzes and final maths tests were used for research. The hypothesis test of the last test of knowing concepts systematically yielded a P-value of 0.019, rejecting H0.  In class XII MIA SMA Negeri 2 Bayang, students who learn with Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) grasp mathematical concepts better than those who learn directly.Keywords  - Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) Cooperative Learning Model, Understanding Mathematical Concepts, Direct Learning.

Abstract

One type of learning tool suggested by the goverment is Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD). The proper use of LKPD helps leaner gain success learning outcomes. Base on the observations at SMPN 2 Padang that LKPD used by teacher is not provide a step that leads leaners to build understanding through real problems. The presentation of the material on the LKPD is patterned on direct formula. This is the underlying researcher for developing LKPD based PBL , so students are able to construct know leage through real problems. Data is collect through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and test problem solving abilities. The subjects of this research are students grade VIII SMP N 2 Padang. This research development is used Plomp made consists of phase preliminary research, prototype phase, and assessment phase. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the mathematics lesson equipment based on PBL which was conducted to student's of class VIII was valid, practical, and effective.Keywords – LKPD, PBL, Plomp

Abstract

Understanding mathematicals concepts is one of the objectives of learn mathematics. However, the reality of the students' understandings of mathematical concepts in class VIII SMP UNP Laboratory Development is still low. One of the causes is learning that does not involve students actively and is still centered on the teacher. Therefore, a research was conducted by applying the student teams achievement divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts and to see the development of students' understanding of mathematical concepts during the implementation of the student teams achievement divisions type cooperative learning model. quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental research design with Static Group Design. The population is class VIII students of UNP Laboratory Development Middle School for the 2021/2022 academic year which consists of five classes. Sample selection was done by simple random sampling technique, class VIII. A as the experimental class and class VIII. B as control class. The final test data were analyzed using the t test. Data on the development of students' understanding of mathematical concepts were analyzed using quiz averages, quiz percentages and the achievement of indicators for understanding concepts on quizzes. based on the results of the final test hypothesis test with a significant level obtained P - Value = 0.001 , which means reject . Thus, it can be concluded that the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who studies with the cooperative model of student teams achievement divisions is better than students who learning using conventional learning models. Keywords– understandings of mathematicals concepts, Student Teams Achievement Divisions, quasi-experimental

Abstract

--- understanding of mathematical concepts skills are one of the basic abilities that must be possessed by students. However ,in reality the understanding of mathematical skill of class XI science students in SMA Adabiah Padang are still low and learning process is still oriented towards teacher centered. The solution used to over come these problems are to use cooperative learning model; Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) that will greatly improve student’s understanding of mathematical concepts skill. So that students are able to understand the idea of the topic. The purpose of the research was to describe whether  the understanding of mathematical concepts of grade XI Science student of SMA Adabiah Padang that taught using cooperative learning model; Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) were better than student who taught using direct learning.The type of the research is a quasi experiment with the design of Randomized Control-Group Only Design. The sample in this research was class XI Science 2 as the experimental class and Xi Science 3 as the  control class. The instruments used to collect informayion in this research were final test and quizzes.The results of the research that has been conducted show that students who taught using the cooperative learning; Student Team Achievement Team Division (STAD) model can improves their understanding of  mathematical concept skills. Based on the test P-value=0,007 is obtain. Because the P-value <α=0,05 then reject H0. Thus, it can be concluded that students who taught using the cooperative learning ; Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) have better mathemtical understanding of mathematical concept skills than students who taught using the direct learning model in class XI science of SMA Adabiah Padang.Keywords--- direct learning, understandng of mathemathical concepts skills, STAD learnng model.

Abstract

Mathematical Problem-solving is one of the abilities that needs to be developed in learning mathematics. However, that ability is still low in class XI SMAN 7 Padang is still low. One solution to overcome the problem is used a cooperative learning model of Group Investigation (GI). This research type were descriptive and quasi-experiment with a research design of Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The sample are Class XI F6 as the experiment class and Class XI F7 as the control class. Based on result of data analysis acquired P-value = 0.000 where P-value < 0.05. Abstract

This study aims to develop PBL-based LKPD on the material of Two-Variable Linear Equation System for Class VIII SMP. The research design used the Ploom model which consisted of three stages, namely preliminary research, the development / prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. In the preliminary research, needs analysis, curriculum analysis, concept analysis and student analysis were carried out to see the LKPD relationship to be developed. At the development / prototype stage, a PBL-based LKPD was made based on the analysis that was carried out in the previous stage. The prototype must perform a formic evaluation in the form of self-evaluation and expert evaluation to produce a valid prototype. The assessment phase aims to see the practical prototype after the one to one evaluation is carried out. This research is limited to evaluation stage one because of the Covid-19 outbreak. The conclusion from this research is that the PBL-based LKPD on the material of the Two-Variable Linear Equation System is valid and practical. Keywords — Development Research, Problem Based Learning, Two-Variable Linear Equation System.

Abstract

Understanding of Mathematical concept is one of  objectives of mathematics learning that must be achieved by student. But in reality, several previous researches have shown that understanding of mathematical concept of students is still low. This also happen to students in class IX SMPN 22 Padang. Student Teams Achievement Division choosen to solve that problem. The research methodology used is Quasy Implement the Posttest Only Non-equivalent Group Design in your research experiments. The P-value obtained from the analysis of the mathematical concept understanding test at a significance level of ?=0.05 was 0.000. Since a P-value below ? would indicate rejection, ?-0 was accepted. This finding indicates that students in Class IX SMPN 22 Padang who study mathematical concepts using the Student Teams Achievement Division cooperative learning model have a greater grasp of those concepts than those who learn using traditional learning methods..Keywords – Conventional Learning, Student Teams Achievement Division, Understanding of Mathematical Concept
