Abstract

Mathematical concept understanding is onenof the goals from mathematical learning that must owned by students. However, acording to result of the test that given in Junior High School 1 Lembah Gumanti showed the low students mathematical concept understanding. This could be improved by implement learning cycle 5E model. The purpose of this research  is to know and to discribe the improvement of mathematical concept understanding of student who’s learning using learning cycle 5E model and to know and to discribe wether the mathematical concept understanding of students who’s learning with learning cycle 5E model is better than mathematical concept understanding of student who’s learning with direct instrution in class VII junior high school 1 Lembah Gumanti. This researchnis a combinationnof quasy experimen and deskriptiv research withnresearch design is The Nonequivalent Posttest-OnlycControl GroupnDesign. Based on the result of quizzes there are improvement of mathematical concept understanding of student who’s learning with learning cycle 5E model, and based on the result of hypothesis test, the mathematical concept understanding of student who’s learning with learning cycle 5E model are better than the mathematical concept understanding of student who’s learning with direct instuction.  That can be conclude that laerning cycle 5E model is influences students mathematical concept understanding. Keywords – Mathematical Concept Understanding, Learning Cycle 5E Model.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning_is an ability that must be possessed bystudents today becauseit will train students' ability to reason and think critically. Low mathematical reasoning skills because learning in schools is not optimal. The application of learning models discovery learning can improve mathematical reasoning skills. The purpose of this study is to describe theoretically whether discovery learning can improve mathematical reasoning. This type of research is a study of literature where data collection is done by tracing sources related to the topics discussed both from textbooks, journals and other sources. The conclusion of this literature study is theoretically a discovery learning model that can improve mathematical reasoning ability which can be seen from the achievement of mathematical reasoning indicators.Keywords __ Discovery Learning, Mathematical Reasoning

Abstract

The ability to understand mathematical concepts is a foundation in the process of learning mathematics. For this reason, students need to master the concepts in learning mathematics. In fact, the ability to understand the concept of SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP students is not optimal. This has a big effect on students to master other mathematical abilities. Therefore, efforts are needed in this matter. One of them uses the steps in the MASTER learning model based on mind mapping (Motivating your mind, Acquiring the information, Searching out the meaning, triggering the memory, Exhibiting what you know, and Reflecting how youve learned). This study aims to describe the differences in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who use the MASTER learning model with the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who use conventional learning models. The research method used was quasi-experimental research design with Randomized Control-Group Only Design. Based on the results of this study concluded that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who use the MASTER learning model is better than the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who use conventional learning models in class XI of SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. Keywords—Concept comprehension ability, MASTER based on mind mapping, Conventional learning

Abstract

Learning outcomes are the results obtained by students after participating in learning, which are assessed by exams. But in fact the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMAN 12 Padang are still low. The solution is the application of cooperative learning models such as Student Teams Achievement Divisions. The purpose of this study was to describe the activities carried out by students while the STAD model was applied and how the Kahoot-assisted STAD model affected the learning outcomes of class XI students at SMAN 12 Padang. The type of research used is quasy experimental research and descriptive research with a non-equivalent posttest-only control group design. The population is students of class XI IPS SMAN 12 Padang. Instruments in the form of observation sheets and tests. Based on the observation results, it was found that the positive activity development of students increased with the STAD model, and based on data analysis, the Mann-Whitney test obtained p-values = 0.0000 <0.05, meaning  was rejected. Thus, the learning outcomes of students with the STAD model are better than the conventional learning model. In other words, the application of the kahoot-assisted STAD model increases the activity and learning outcomes of class XI students of SMAN 12 Padang. Keywords– Learning Achievement, STAD Model, Kahoot

Abstract

Mathematics learning requires concrete evidence and examples in its implementation. This is often an obstacle experienced by teachers with a lack of mathematics learning media. This can lead to low student interest in mathematics. One of the materials that requires learning media in mathematics is geometry. However, the teacher's lack of ability to apply technology in mathematics learning hampers the learning process. One of the efforts that can be done is through community service aimed at SMP Mathematics teachers who are members of the Mathematics MGMP for SMP Kota Bukittingi. This training activity is structured in two stages, namely designing and building AR applications using Unity3D. This activity is carried out online which begins with providing an understanding of augmented reality technology, the modeling process using the Blender application, making markers and the Vuforia SDK to form AR and playmaker as programming, and the final stage is to create applications using unity software. Every stage of the activity is monitored and evaluated so that the activity is carried out properly. Based on the results of the service activities that have been carried out, it is concluded that the digital props based on Augmented Reality have been successfully created and help learning of geometry materialKunci: Mathematics learning, Augmented Reality, learning of geometry material.

Abstract

Everyone must be more literate in today's competitive society. Mathematical literacy is crucial during educational disruption. According to PISA data, Indonesian students' mathematical literacy skills are still substantially lower than the global average. A new teaching technique has been used to improve Indonesian students' mathematical literacy. This study examined how the Reading To Learn (R2L) model improved math literacy. The non-equivalent posttest alone control group design was utilized in this quasi-experimental study. This survey sampled 60 class IX SMPN 6 Sawahlunto students. The final test results demonstrated that the R2L paradigm improved mathematical literacy.Keyword: Mathematical Literacy, Learning Model, Reading to Learn (R2L)

Abstract

Understanding of mathematics concepts is the basic ability that must be possessed by students. But in reality, students’ understanding of mathematics concepts in grade XI IPA SMA Adabiah Padang were still weak and learning process was still centered on educators. The solution that could be applied was APOS approach which made students construct concepts well. The purpose of the study was to describe whether the application of APOS can improve students’ understanding of mathematics conceptsand how the development of students’ understanding of mathematics conceptsafter APOS approach is applied. The type of research was pre experiment One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research hypothesis was proven by t-test. From the data analysis, for the level of   understanding of mathematics concepts of students after being treated with APOS approach is better than understanding the mathematics concepts of students before being treated with the APOS approach and development of students’ understanding of mathematics conceptsfluctuated at each meeting.Keywords - APOS (Action, Process, Object, Schema), understanding of mathematics concepts

The imathematical communication skill is an important aspect and should be achieved in the learning of mathematicsi. The Importance of mathematical communicationi skilli for students make this capability ineed to be improved in thei learning process of imathematics. But iin reality at SMPN 3 Sungai Limau, this ability has not been fully mastred by students and it has not been faciltied by students to improve this ability properly. One effordi to overcome this problem is by applying cooperativei learningi Studenti Teams Achievementi Divisions modeli. The purpose of this study was to describe the ieffect of the applicationi of the STADi learning imodel on the development mathematical communication abilities of eighti grade students ofi SMPNi 3 Sungai Limau. This type of reseacrh isi ai pre-experimentali research design with Onei Shot Case Study iDesign. The isubject of thisi researchi is class VIII 1 SMPN 3 Sungai Limau. This research data was collected throught iquiz and test of imathematical communicationi abilities basede on the percentage of the number of student the average value, and the percentage of students mathematical communication abities has increased. This shows thati there is ani impact of ithe application of the STADi learning model on student mathematical communication abilities. Abstract

Concept understanding is a very important ability in the mathematics learning process that is expected to be mastered well by learners. The real life in the field found that the understanding of the concept of mathematics among the class VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Mandau for the 2022–2023 academic year was still low. One effort that can be made to improve students' concepts understanding of mathematical is to apply models such as Think-Pair-Square learning. The purpose of this research is to describe whether the understanding of the mathematical concepts of students who learn using the Think Pair Square learning model is better than the understanding of the mathematical concepts of students who learn by using the direct learning model in class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Mandau. This research type is quasi-experimental with a randomized, control-group-only design. This study's population consisted of students in class VIII at SMP Negeri 5 Mandau. Class VIII.4 was selected as the class for experimental and class VIII.2 as the class for control. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design student worksheets (LKPD) Brain Based Learning valid and practical  on SPLDV material for class VIII SMP  . This research is a developmental research using the Plomp model. Plom’s model of 3 stages: the preliminary  stage, prototyping stage and evaluation stage. Based on the results of data analysis seen from the aspects of the feasibility of content, language, presentation and graphics, the validity level of 86.72% was obtained with a very valid category. Meanwhile, at the level of practicality of the LKPD obtained from the student response questionnaire, the practicality was 89.43% in the very practical category. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the LKPD based on the brain based learning model for SPDV material in class VIII SMP can be declared valid and practical. Keywords – development Research, Student Worksheet, Brain Based Learning
