Abstract

The goals of this research to determine the characteristics of the mathematical e-module based on Realistic Mathematics Education for Class VII SMP/MTs students that are valid and practical in supporting the success of the learning mathematics. This E-Module uses the Plomp development model which consists of 2 stages, namely the preliminary research and prototyping phase. The subjects of this research were 9 students of class VII MTs PP Nurul Islam Gunung Toar. The instruments used are validation sheets and questionnaires for teacher and student. In this research, a valid and practical mathematical e-module was obtained. The e-module is valid with 86.79% results in the very valid category. A The results of the questionnaire for teacher responses obtained a practicality value of 90.00% with a very practical category. As for the student questionnaire, the practicality value of 92.94% was obtained in the very practical category. Keywords– E-module, Realistic Mathematics Education, Valid, Practical

Abstract

Mathematics learning result are basically the main goal of the learning process. However, in reality, the mathematics learning result of in class XI-F SMAN 1 Tilatang Kamang are still low. One of the efforts that can be done to ovecome these problems is by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine wherhet the mathematics learning result of students who learing by applying PBL learning model were better than the mathematical learning result of students whose learning by applying the conventional learning model to students of class XI-F SMAN 1 Tilatang Kamang.Keywords – Problem Based Learning (PBL), Mathematics Learning Result

Abstract

The error analysis of students is an important thing to do in order to determine the material mastery of sudents. Based on the fact, it was found that there were mistakes made by participants of XI class of SMA Negeri 2 Pariaman in solving mathematical questions of trigonometry material. The research approach is qualitative and the type of research is descriptive. Subject of this research is XI IPA class of SMA Negeri 2 Pariaman with seven students were interviewed. The data in this research are data from observations, tests, and interviews. Data were analyzed based on qualitative analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data display, and verification. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the student participants made mistakes include: 1) conceptual errors of 26%, that they were not able to select and apply the formula well, 2) procedural errors of 42,5%, that they incorrectly determined steps of answering questions, and 3) technical errors of 31,5%, that they incorrectly wrote and calculated the value of an arithmetic operation. Keywords—Analysis of student errors, conceptual errors, procedural errors, technical errors, trigonometry.

Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical problems is one of the objectives of learning mathematics that must be mastered by students. In fact, this problem solving ability is still low. This can be seen in the low test scores given to students which contain indicators of mathematical problem solving. The solution to this problem is to apply a realistic mathematics education approach. The purpose of this study was to describe the problem solving abilities of students in class XI MIPA of SMA Negeri 1 lubuk Alung 2020/2021 who learn to use a realistic mathematics education approach better than students who learn using direct learning. Keywords — Mathematical Problem Solving, Realistic Mathematics Education Approach, Direct learning Model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji apakah siswa yang belajar memakai model Think Talk Write (TTW) memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang lebih kuat daripada belajar secara konvensional. Penelitian memakai metode Quasi Eksperimen dengan desain Non-equivalent Posttest Only Control Group Design. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas XI MAN 1 Kota Payakumbuh tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Tes akhir dan kuis menilai kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Nilai P-value sebesar 0,004 dengan tingkat nyata 0,005 menolak H0 dalam pengujian hipotesis. Hal ini membuktikan siswa yang belajar dengan TTW memiliki kemampuan yang lebih unggul. Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran dengan TTW berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan tersebut.Kata Kunci– Think Talk Write,  Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis, Pembelajaran Konvensional.

Abstract

One of the cognitive abilities that every student must have in mathematical learning is the ability of reasoning. However, the result of preliminary test indicate that the ability of mathematical reasoning student of grade VIII SMP N 11 Padang are still low, and need to be improve. One of the learning models to improve the student’s mathematical reasoning abilities is the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE) learning model. This type of research is quasy experiment with static group design, that involves two sample classes. Experiment classes use CORE learning model and control classes using conventional learning models . Based on the results of data analysis using t test, obtained P-Value = 0,011< a = 0,05. it can be concluded that the mathematical reasoning ability of students who learn by applying the CORE learning model is more better than students who learn by conventional learning. Keywords – CORE Learning Model, Mathematical Reasoning Ability

Abstract

Math classes allow students to develop math skills, including problem solving skills.. But in fact, the mathematical problem solving ability of XI MIPA students at SMAN 14 Padang  still low. This can be determined by the first test of mathematical problem solving ability, which determines that the student failed to solve the problem. One effort to overcome these problems is to use the GDL model. The purpose of this study was to analyze that the mathematical problem solving ability of students who studied with the guided discovery learning model was better than the students who studied with the guided discovery learning model, as well as to compare and explain the development of students' mathematical problems. As long as the GDL model is applied in class XI MIPA SMAN 14 Padang, these problems can be resolved. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent posttest-only control group design. The population of class XI MIPA SMAN 14 Padang in the academic year 2022/2023. The sample was obtained using the Simple Random Sampling technique so that class XI MIPA 2 was chosen as the experimental class and XI MIPA 4 was the control class. The tools used are quizzes at each meeting to check the development of students' mathematical problem solving abilities in the lab class, and essay-style math problem solving skills to compare their mathematical problem solving abilities. Student skills in the experimental and control classes. According to data analysis from  quizzes, each math problem solving index increases. The value of P = 0 was obtained based on the results of the analysis of the mathematical problem solving ability test. The P value is smaller than = 0.05, which means that the application of the GDL model has an effect on students' mathematical problem solving abilities, and the mathematical performance of students who use (GDL). Keywords - Guided Discovery Learning (GDL), Problem Solving

Abstract

One of the skills that students must possess is the capacity for problem solving. Because students who study mathematics must be able to solve problems, this is the case. In reality, problem-solving abilities still need to be enhanced. This study aims to determine the impact of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) paradigm on students' ability to solve mathematical problems. A pseudo-experiment with a Non Equivalent Posttest Only Control Group Design is used for this study. The research cohort was comprised of all eighth-grade pupils at SMP Negeri 7 Padang in TP 2022/23, as well as two sample classes. As a tool, the final exam was employed. The results of the hypothesis test obtained a P-value = 0.000 (α = 0.05), meaning that it rejects . The conclusion obtained is that the PBL model positively influences problem solving abilities.Keywords– Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Problem Based Learning Model, Direct Learning Model

Abstract

Understanding of concept is important in the learning of mathematics. The understanding of oncept is a basic ability that must be developed in students. In fact,  the reality found in the field in the class XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 2X11Kayutanam on understanding of math concepts students is still low. The solution to solve the problem is by applying contextual learning with REACT strategy. The purpose of this study is to determine the abbility of understandingof math concepts of students during contextual learning applied with REACT strategy is better than students who are learning conventionally in class XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 2X11 Kayutanam. This type of research is a quasi experiment with the design of the Static Group Design. The Samples of this research are class XI IPS 2 and XI IPS 3. Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe and analyze students' mistakes based on the Kastolan stages in solving math problems for class X MIPA SMA N 1 Solok Selatan. The errors studied are based on the types of errors in the Kastolan stage which include conceptual errors, procedural errors and technical errors. The type of research is descriptive with the research subject as many as six students of class X MIPA 1 SMA N 1 Solok Selatan. Details of taking the subject are two subjects with high math ability, two subjects with moderate math ability, two subjects with low math ability. The results showed that (1) as many as 26.88% of students experienced conceptual errors due to students' misunderstanding, forgot concepts and did not use the formula correctly. (2) as many as 35.48% of students experienced procedural errors due to not rechecking the answers before they were collected and confusion about the next steps due to lack of understanding of the material. (3) as many as 37.64% of students experienced technical errors due to the lack of accuracy of students when solving absolute value test questions and the lack of enthusiasm of students so that they answered random test questions which resulted in students being wrong in solving questions. Keywords – Analysis of Student Errors, Errors According to Kastolan Stages, Conceptual Errors,        Procedural Errors, Technical Errors.
