Abstract

Improving their numerical literacy is one of the goals that the pupils are working towards. However, this is still an area where the students in SMKN 1 Sijunjung's class X fall short. This problem can be solved by using e-modules that incorporate contextual learning and teaching strategies. This study aims to compare the numeracy literacy of students who get direct instruction using school-provided teaching materials to that of students whose education is supplemented with e-modules based on content-based learning (CTL). Using a research strategy called the nonequivalent post test-only control group design, the study employed a quasi-experimental research approach. Students in the X grade at SMKN 1 Sijunjung were part in this research. There were two classes that participated in the study: X Accounting 2 and X Accounting 1. The former class employed CTL-based e-modules as a treatment, while the latter class used school-provided teaching materials for direct learning. The data analysis led the author to the conclusion that CTL-based e-modules improve students' numeracy literacy skills in class X at SMKN 1 Sijunjung compared to classes that depend on school-provided learning and teaching materials. These results show that students who use e-modules based on CTL have better numeracy literacy abilities. Keywords– Numeracy Literacy Skills, E-Module, Contextual Teaching and Learning

Abstract

Abstract - Once a learning process is complete, the most important item is the learning outcomes. The mathematical achievement of seventh graders at MTsN 12 Agam is dismal. Problems are addressed through the usage of PBL. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of direct instruction with that of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the context of mathematics education. Non-Equivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design for descriptive and pseudo-research purposes. Research samples were drawn from two classes at MTsN 12 Agam: VII.D, which served as the experimental class, and VII.A, which served as the control class. Using a t-test, we checked for homogeneity, normality, and hypothesis testing between the two groups of samples. With a P-value of 0.006 and an actual level of 5%, the findings of the test indicate that H0 is rejected. Because of this, children in the experimental group outperform those in the control group on math tests. Thus, the PBL approach affects the mathematical learning results of MTsN 12 Agam seventh graders. Keywords: Model PBL, Learning Outcomes, Direct Learning Model

Abstract

Learning outcomes are the main indicator in assessing the success of the learning process. If the learning outcomes obtained increase, then the learning process is considered successful. However, students in class VIII of SMP 29 Padang still have low learning outcomes. Applying the Search, Solve, Create, And Share (SSCS) model is one solution. The purpose of this study is to describe student learning achievement during the application of the SSCS Learning Model and to compare whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who use this model are superior to students who learn through direct learning in class VIII of SMPN 29 Padang. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with an unequal posttest-only control group research design. In this study, the population was students in class VIII of SMPN 29 Padang, class VIII 5 and VIII 6 as samples. This study used a final learning outcome test tool in the form of an essay. Based on data analysis using the t-test, the  was obtained. Because ,  is rejected and  is accepted. Abstract

Mathematics is an important subject at every level of education. The problem that needs attention in the field of mathematics is the number of errors made by students in solving math problems. The purpose of this study is to examine and describe the factors that contribute to the category of student errors that occur in class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Padang in solving math problems, according to the Kastolan stages. The errors investigated are based on the error categories in the Kastolan stages which include technical errors, procedural errors, and conceptual errors. The research method used was descriptive research, with the research subjects as many as 20 students of class VIII.4 SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Interview guideline documents and test questions with statistics material were used as research instruments. The results of the study showed that (1) the number of students who made conceptual errors was 45.58% because students did not understand the concept of the material/meaning of the problem and were unable to determine the correct formula. (2) there were 29.30% of students who made procedural errors caused by a lack of understanding of the material so that they had difficulty in making steps to solve it. (3) As many as 25.12% of students made technical errors because students were still slow in carrying out arithmetic operations, careless/not careful in completing questions so that writing errors and errors in arithmetic operations often occurred. Keywords – Analysis of Student Errors, Errors According to Kastolan Stages, Conceptual Errors, Procedural Errors, Technical Errors
