Abstract

Abstract - The purpose of this paper was to determine the validity of e-modules based on differentiated learning in upgrading the numeracy literacy ability of class XI SMA/MA students. The type of research is development based on the Plomp model. The participants in the study included 32 students of class X and an educator. The following data were collected through questionnaires, documentation, and observation methods. Meanwhile, to analyse the data which is divided into stages, namely in the preliminary research phase, data reduction will be used, then data presentation as well as conclusion drawing, then analysis for product validity using a Likert scale. The results showed that the criteria for the validity of the e-module from the aspect of material substance obtained a validity value of 82.00, the feasibility aspect of the presentation of 89.45, the feasibility aspect of the material display of 88.80, in terms of material language of 87.20 and in terms of aspects of differentiated learning approaches and numeracy literacy with a validity value of 86.2. All aspects are in the valid criteria. Thus, for the average of all, the validity of the e-module from the five validators is 86.74, which is valid. Based on the explanation above, the e-module based on differentiated learning in improving the numeracy literacy skills of class XI SMA/MA students is valid.Keywords– Differentiated Learning, e-modules, numeracy literacy

Abstract

Students need to demonstrate that they can communicate mathematically. Class IX pupils at SMP Negeri 1 Solok continue to demonstrate a low level of competence, nonetheless. The chosen strategy makes use of Geogebra to execute the Problem Based Learning (PBL) methodology. The purpose of this research was to compare the performance of students in ninth grade at SMP Negeri 1 Solok who received direct teaching with those who received PBL models with the help of geogebra. A non-equivalent control group that received just posttests was used in the quasi-experimental study. We may reject the null hypothesis (H0) because the t-test yielded a P-value of 0.008. Abstract

Mathematics problem solving ability is one of the important abilities that students have in learning mathematics. However, students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh still lack this ability. The solution provided is to apply the Discovery Learning with the help of a learning video. This study aims to see the difference in mathematical problem solving skills of students who use Discovery Learning with conventional learning. The type of research used is quasi experiment with Randomized (DL) Control-Group Only Design. The population is X MIPA class students of SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh. Class XMIPA-3 and class XMIPA-5 as the sample class. Finally test in the form of an essay as an instrument. After the t-test was conducted, P-vaue=0.009 was obtained. Because the P-value <0.05 consequently reject . Therefore, it’s concluded that the level of mathematics problem solving ability of students using Discovery Learning assisted by learning videos is higher than using conventional.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving proficiency is an important talent that math educators want to develop in their students.  However, this ability in students is still very poor and substandard. Some people have proposed the CTL model as a way to overcome this problem. The purpose of this study is to compare the problem solving skills of eighth grade students at SMPN 16 Padang when taught Number Patterns using two different approaches: the conventional classroom method and the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. By using a control group that only participated in the post-test, this study used a quasi-experimental approach. When comparing the CTL model with the conventional model, eighth grade students at SMPN 16 Padang who used the CTL model showed better results.Keywords– Contextual Teaching and Learning, Conventional Learning, Mathematical Solving Ability

Abstract

Angle trisection is a geometry concept that refers to the splitting of an angle into three equal parts, so that each part formed has the same angle size. This angle trisection became one of the three most interesting and unsolved mathematical problems during the last three centuries BC. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to examine the history of angle trisection in the Thales-Euclid era and measure students' ability to solve angle trisection problems. This research is a qualitative research that uses case study and literature review methods with data collection techniques through tests and interviews. The research subjects were selected by purposive sampling method from three high school students. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively with triangulation techniques. The purpose of this analysis is to ensure that the data obtained from various sources are valid. The results showed the extent of students' understanding in responding and creating how to solve this angle trisection using a ruler and a period. A detailed presentation of the categories of answers given by learners will be presented in this paper.Keywords–Angular Trisection, Thales-Euclid Era, History of Mathematics

Abstract

An important learning objective for students is to gain an understanding of mathematical concepts. However, class XI at SMA Negeri 2 Lintau Buo still has a low level of competence in this ability. One way to improve it is by applying the STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) model. This study used a quasi-experimental design, more specifically a posttest only non-equivalent control group design, for its research technique. Students of class XI TP 2024/2025 became the subject of this study. Classes XI.F2 and XI.F1 were randomly selected from the student population to be the research samples. Quizzes and tests were the tools used. The P-value of 0.000, as determined from the test results, is considered statistically significant. As a result, we can say that H0 is not true. Grade XI students who used the STAD model outperformed their peers who relied on direct teaching.Keywords– Understanding Mathematical Concepts, Conventional Learning, Student Teams Achievement Division

Abstract

The background to this research is that student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects are still low. The aim of this research is to determine and describe the effect of implementing the Discovery Learning model on the learning outcomes of class XI students at SMA Negeri 5 Pariaman. This type of research uses quasy experiments (experimental power). The research sample consisted of 52 people. Data analysis techniques consist of normality tests, homogeneity tests and hypothesis tests. The results of the research show that the final test learning outcomes of experimental class students are higher than the final test learning outcomes of the control class. There are differences in the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the discovery learning model compared to the direct learning model in Mathematics for class XI students at SMA 5 Pariaman p-value >0.05 means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected.Keywords– Discovery Learning Learning Model, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

One of the important competencies that students need to have is problem solving. However, the ability of students in class IX SMP Negeri 7 Pariaman is still not very good. Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is an effective learning framework that should be applied to overcome this problem. Finding out whether the ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Pariaman who used CTL model in their learning were more proficient than the direct learning was the main objective of this study. Using a static group design, this study utilized a pseudo-experimental type of research. Students of SMP Negeri 7 Pariaman TP 2024/2025 class IX took part. Classes IX.2 and IX.1 were selected as sample classes through a random selection process. The tool evaluated was the last word in quality control. The p-value for this study, was 0.016. The fact that the p-value is smaller than α means that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is acceptable. This data indicates that compared to the direct learning model, the CTL model performs better.Keywords– Contextual Teaching and Learning, mathematical problem solving skills, direct instruction

Abstract

The goal of mathematics education is to improve problem solving skills. The cooperative learning method used is TSTS. This study tested whether students who learn Two Stay Two Stray type cooperative learning can solve math problems better than students who learn directly. The quasi-experimental method used was Non-equivalent Posttest Only Control Group Design. This study involved XII science students of SMA N 1 Lembah Gumanti in the 2023/2024 school year. The experimental and control groups, XII IPA 4 and 2, were selected using Simple Random Sampling. The P-value of the math problem solving test was 0.007 below α of 0.05 indicating the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0). Abstract

As a student of mathematics, you should eventually become proficient at solving mathematical problems. Having said that, eighth graders at SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping are woefully unprepared when it comes to addressing mathematical difficulties. One effective strategy for student improvement is to implement the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach to education. Nonequivalent posttest-only control groups are a type of quasi-experiment that was used in this investigation. The research subjects were eighth graders from SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. Students from Classes VIII.11 and VIII.10 were chosen at random to make up the sample. The research instruments utilized for data analysis included tests for normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing; the last test included mathematical problem-solving. A t-test was performed on the data, and the result was a p-value of 0.005. If the p-value is less than the significance level α = 0.05, the null hypothesis (H_0) is rejected. The PBL-using eighth graders at SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping outperformed their non-PBL-using peers in the traditional learning paradigm.Keywords– Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Skills, Conventional Learning
