Abstract

Teachers can tell if their learning is effective based on learning outcomes. The problem of low learning outcomes was identified using data and observations from grade eight at SMPN 22 Padang. Learning outcomes are influenced by the learning materials used. Therefore, a solution was proposed to improve learning outcomes and student engagement through the use of Articulate Storyline 3-based interactive learning media. This study aimed to determine whether, compared to more conventional forms of teaching, interactive learning media actually improved student performance. There was a non-equivalent control group that only participated in the post-test in this quasi-experimental study. An essay-based posttest was administered as an evaluation. Based on the posttest results, it was found that using Articulate Storyline 3 interactive media had better learning outcomes. The fact that the P-value < α (0.044) supports the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. So, it can be said that when they use the Articulate Storyline 3 interactive media compared to the conventional way to be better. Keywords– Articulate Storyline 3, Learning Outcomes, Interactive Learning Media, Conventional Learning

Abstract

The whole point of teaching math is to help students become better communicators in the subject. Class XI SMAN 1 Pariaman students still lack even the most basic of these abilities, though. Among these endeavours was the implementation of the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) cooperative learning approach. A pseudo-experiment with a randomised control group design was utilised for this study. Mathematical communication skills learned using the TTW model outperform those learned using standard models in eleventh grade SMAN 1 Pariaman, according to data analysis. There has been an uptick in skill development as a result of using the TTW paradigm. Keywords– Think Talk Write, Mathematical Communication Skills, Traditional Teaching

Abstract

Abstract – Learning outcomes are a very important tool for assessing academic success. High-quality outcomes are a guarantee of an effective learning process. Unfortunately, data on this in the ninth grade of SMPN 2 Tilatang Kamang is inadequate. One model that can overcome this is the Discovery Learning (DL) model. This study aims to explore how mathematics learning outcomes can develop using the DL model and to find out whether the conventional approach provides optimal results compared to the model. This study used a descriptive quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group that was not equal to the experimental group. The math quiz results showed that the experimental group learned more. The null hypothesis (H0) was rejected as the t-test P-value = 0.027, generated by examining the test data, was smaller than the significance level (α). This study found that DL users outperformed those who used conventional learning strategies in math. Keywords– Mathematical Learning Achievement, Conventional Learning, Discovery Learning

Abstract

Gaining conceptual understanding is one of the goals of education.  However, the results in class VIII of SMP Negeri 29 Padang show that it is at a low stage. The Think-Talk-Write (TTW) cooperative learning model is one way that can be used. Finding out whether eighth graders at SMP Negeri 29 Padang who used the TTW model had a superior understanding of the material compared to those using the direct model was the impetus for this study. This was a quasi-experimental study using a static group design. The sample population consisted of the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 29 Padang. An essay that served as the final exam was the tool used. The t-test was used to analyse the data, and the resulting P-value was 0.040. Thus, H0 was rejected. Using the TTW model, grade eight at SMP Negeri 29 Padang was able to be more effective than using the direct learning model. Keywords – Understanding mathematics concept, TTW, Direct learning

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is one of the goals of mathematics education. All students must be able to perform this basic skill. However, students of grade VIII of UPTD SMPN 2 Mungka Regency are still considered to have inadequate mathematical problem-solving abilities. This is evidenced by the results of the initial assessment of the mathematical problem-solving abilities of grade VIII students of UPTD SMPN 2 Mungka Regency. The use of the Problem-Based Learning Model is one way to help students become more proficient in solving mathematical puzzles. This study aims to determine whether the use of a problem-based learning approach affects students' abilities in solving mathematical puzzles. With a posttest-only control design, this study used a quasi-experimental methodology. Grade IX students of UPTD SMPN 2 Mungka Regency became the research population, while grades IX/1 and IX/2 became the research samples. Essay questions about mathematical problem-solving abilities were used as a research technique. A P value of 0.001 was obtained from data analysis using the t-test. Because the P value is less than α = 0.05, H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be said that grade IX students of UPTD SMPN 2 Mungka Regency who study using the Problem Based Learning model are more proficient in solving mathematical puzzles than those who study using the Direct Learning model. Keywords– Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Problem-Solving Skills, Direct Instruction

Abstract

Looking at the results of the lesson is one way to tell whether the lecture was successful. Nonetheless, the eighth grade at MTsN 6 Tanah Datar maintains dismal performance in this domain. It is affected by the chosen learning paradigm. To make it even more successful, may include Ice Breaking into the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model. The purpose of this research was to determine if eighth graders at MTsN 6 Tanah Datar might improve their mathematical understanding by using a model that included icebreakers. This kind of quantitative research is a form of quasi-experimental study that uses a control group that only takes the exam after the fact. Students in grades VIII.1 and VIII.8 from MTsN 6 Tanah Datar were the subjects of the study. The method used was a descriptive learning outcome evaluation. The t-test that was used to analyze the data produced a p-value of 0.014. With a p-value less than 0.05, we may affirm that H0 is not true. Students learn more mathematics when teachers use the Jigsaw model in conjunction with icebreakers than when teachers use more traditional techniques. Keywords– Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Jigsaw, Ice Breaking, Conventional Learning Model

Abstract

The objectives of mathematics learning have not been achieved by students, the cause of the low ability to solve mathematical problems is that they are not used to answering non-routine questions. The target of the study was to see whether the ability to solve mathematical problems of class VIII students of SMPN 2 Kamang Magek using the PBL model could be improved. The research was in the form of an experiment, namely a quasi-experiment, in the form of Nonequivalent Posttest Only Control Group. The population was all class VIII students of SMPN 2 Kamang Magek in the academic year 2024/2025. The sample was taken using the total sampling technique. The samples taken were the entire population, namely classes VIII.1, and VIII.2. Theiresearchiinstrument was in the form of a final test of mathematical problem-solving ability in the form of a description. The dataiobtained were tested using normality tests, homogeneity of variance, and hypotheses. The results of the mathematical problem-solving ability test using the t-test method obtained P-Value = 0.04 which is smaller than α = 0.05 which means rejecting H0. It was concluded that students who took part in learning using PBL had the best mathematical problem-solving ability of those who took part in learning with the Direct Learning model. Keywords– mathematical problem solving ability, PBL model, direct learning model

Abstract

Being able to articulate mathematical ideas clearly is a crucial competency for every mathematician. On the other hand, eighth graders at SMP Negeri 13 Padang still have a poor level of this skill. Think Talk Write (TTW) is a cooperative learning approach that addresses this issue. This study aims to describe how eighth graders at SMP Negeri 13 Padang developed their mathematics communication skills through the implementation of the TTW model and to assess whether or not this approach is superior to traditional learning methods. Qualitative research and descriptive research both fall under this umbrella. The participants were eighth graders from SMP Negeri 13 Padang in the fiscal year of 2024/25. Samples were chosen by researchers using a random sampling technique. The evaluation tool utilised was a final exam and quizzes. After applying the TTW model to each indication, the findings of the quiz data analysis provide light on how talents were developed and improved. The results show that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the TTW model has a significant influence on each indicator (P-value = 0.029).Keywords– at least 3 (three) words and a maximum of 5 (five) words

Abstract

Learning outcomes are a metric used to determine how well students have acquired the subject matter taught by the teacher. In fact, the mathematics learning outcomes for class IX students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang remain relatively poor. Low learning results can be caused by passive learning and ineffective learning methods. The approach offered is the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative model. The research methodology employed is descriptive and quasi-research, with a Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The t-test analysis of the learning outcomes test provides a P-value of 0.000 with a significance level of α = 0.05. The data analysis results revealed that the TTW type cooperative learning model produces better learning outcomes than direct learning, and students' mathematics learning outcomes improve as a result of the quiz scores acquired while utilizing the TTW type cooperative learning model. Keywords– Think Talk Write, Learning outcomes, Direct Learning
