Abstract

An important function of learning outcomes is as a measure of the success of the learning process. Success in learning is directly proportional to the level of achievement. Data on learning outcomes from class XI at SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru, showed that the results were still below average. Therefore, it is planned to use the Discovery Learning model. The purpose of the study was to determine how well the learning outcomes of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru after using conventional learning in class or using the DL model. This quasi-experimental study used a posttest-only design with a non-equivalent control group. Since the P-value of the t-test =0.000, H0 can be rejected. Based on these results, the DL model outperformed the conventional learning method.Keywords– Discovery Learninng Model, Learning Outcomes, conventional learning

Abstract

Abstract — This study aim to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model on mathematical learning outcomes of VIII grade students of SMPN 43 Padang. This research is classified as experiment research with a randomized posttest control-group-only design. The population in this study amount to 88 people. Determination of the sample in this study use random sampling of 62 students, where experimental class consisted of 32 people and control class as many as 29 classes. Data analysis using ANOVA. In this research, the final test was given in the form of an essay, and after the t-test was obtained P-value = 0.016. Because P-value <0.05 consequently reject . The result show that there were differences in mathematics learning outcomes between student who used Think Pair Share (TPS) type learning model with student who used direct learning models in class VIII students of SMPN 43 Padang.Keywords —Think Pair Share, Understanding of Mathematical Concept, Direct Learning.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model in enhancing students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. Mathematics education aims to help students connect prior knowledge with new material and apply it in problem-solving. However, low understanding of concepts is still a challenge due to limited student involvement and ineffective learning models. Using a non-equivalent post-test only control group design, the research was conducted on eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Pariaman in the 2024/2025 academic year. The results showed  p-value of 0.000 at a 0.05 significance level, leading to the rejection of H0. Thus, the TTW model proves to be more effective than the conventional model in improving students’ mathematical understanding. Keyword  Conventional Learning Model, Mathematics Conceptual Understanding, TTW Model

Abstract

Everyone should be competent in problem solving, especially those involving mathematics. The objectives of this research were to (1) describe how these skills are developed through STEM-based learning and (2) determine whether STEM-based learning outperforms more conventional forms of education. Participants in this study were randomly selected from grade eight at SMP Negeri 32 Padang. The research utilized the Nonequivalent Posttest Only Control Group Design as its research format. The skills under study were assessed through quizzes and tests. Descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing were used to test the data. Such skills are honed in STEM classes, according to descriptive statistics. Learning in STEM fields was associated with an increase in these skills, according to hypothesis testing.Keywords– Mathematical Problem Solving Skills, STEM Based Learning, Direct Learning

Abstract

Developing strong problem-solving skills is the goal of mathematics education. However, in Tanjung Mutiara, this ability in class XI of SMAN 1 is still lacking. Applying one of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approaches is a way that has been implemented. This study used a nonequivalent posttest only control group design. Data analysis indicated that in class XI of SMAN 1 Tanjung Mutiara, learning mathematics is more effective through the RME method compared to the conventional method. Abstract

As a benchmark to measure the extent to which it has internalized the material discussed in class, educators use learning outcomes as a benchmark. Class VIII at SMPN 1 Simpang Alahan Mati actually has relatively low scores in this regard. Factors that contribute to this are unsupportive learning models and passive learning. One model that can be used is a cooperative model known as Numbered Head Together (NHT). Using the Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design, this research methodology includes descriptive research and quasi-research. A P-value = 0.000 with α = 0.05 was obtained from the test analysis results conducted using the t-test. Based on data analysis, the NHT model produced better learning outcomes than the conventional method, and quiz scores increased when using the NHT model.Keywords–Numbered Head Together, Learning outcomes, Conventional Learning Model

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of Wingeom-assisted learning modules can improve students' spatial reasoning abilities in class IX UPT SMP Negeri 2 Batusangkar. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent posttest-only control group design. The results showed that students who learned using Wingeom-assisted modules had better spatial reasoning abilities than students who used conventional teaching materials, with an average value of 49.31 for the experimental class and 33.26 for the control class. Hypothesis testing using Mann-Whitney showed a P-value of 0.002, which is smaller than 0.05, so ?0 was rejected and ?1 was accepted. Based on the data analysis, a P-value of 0.002 was obtained. Because the value of ? −????? < ? = 0.05 then ?0 is rejected or accept ?1. Thus, it can be concluded that the spatial reasoning ability of students who learn using the mathematics learning module with the Wingeom-assisted inquiry method is better than students who use conventional teaching materials in class IX UPT SMP Negeri 2 Batusangkar in the 2024/2025 academic year. This study concludes that the learning module with the Wingeom-assisted inquiry method is effective in improving students' spatial reasoning abilities.

Abstract

The results of the end-of-semester assessment, which included number pattern material, showed that the seventh grade class at SMP Negeri 15 Padang continued to show a lack of mathematical understanding. Think Talk Write (TTW), a cooperative learning model, is one model that can be used. The main objective in conducting this study was to compare the model on its effectiveness with direct learning in facilitating learners' mathematical understanding. Grade VIII students from SMP Negeri 15 Padang participated in the study. The research strategy used was quasi-experimental, rooted in the Static Group Design. The participating learners were eighth graders in the 2024-2025 academic year at SMP Negeri 15 Padang. For this sampling, we used a simple random sampling procedure. Based on the draw, the sample group will consist of learners from Class VIII.3 and VIII.6. The research instrument was the deciding factor in the end. A t-test with a significance level of 0.05 yielded a P-value = 0.037, ruling out the null hypothesis (H0), indicating that the P-value < α. This indicates that the TTW model outperformed the direct learning model in improving eighth grade performance at SMP Negeri 15 Padang. Abstract

One of the most important abilities to have when learning mathematics is the ability to understand mathematical ideas. However, in class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Lembang Jaya, this ability is still low. The proposed learning model to overcome this problem is the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type cooperative learning model. Class XI of SMAN 1 Lembang Jaya is the focus of this research which aims to determine the relative advantages of NHT and direct learning models.  This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group with post-test only. Learners enrolled in the study were from classes XI F1 and XI F2 of SMAN 1 Lembang Jaya, which constituted the study population. Quizzes and tests with descriptive question formats were utilized as research tools, t-test was used to analyze the data, and the resulting P-value was 0.036. If the P-value < α = 0.05, then H0 is rejected. Class XI at SMAN 1 Lembang Jaya benefited more from using the NHT model than the direct learning model.Keywords– Flipbook, Cooperative Learning Model, Direct Learning Model, Numbered Heads Together, Mathematical Concept Understanding
