Abstract

Learning outcomes are one of the determinants of learning success. MTsS Muhammadiyah class VIII learning outcomes are low. The low level of student participation in the educational process is one of the main causes. One method to overcome implementation problems is the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model. The aim of the research is to find out whether students whose mathematics learning uses the TSTS type cooperative learning model achieve superior learning outcomes compared to students using the direct learning model. Statistical group design combined with quasi-experimental design. Population of Class VIII MTsS Muhammadiyah Based on the 2023–2024 Academic Year. The experimental class is VIII–1, and the control class is VIII–2. Essay as a tool for testing research. T-test analysis was performed on the data. The results of the analysis show that the P t test is 0.016 (α) = 0.05. P-value < α indicates that class VIII students at MTsS Muhammadiyah Pangkalan apply the TSTS type cooperative learning model with higher learning outcomes than direct learning. Keywords– Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Direct Learning Model, Cooperative Learning Model Type Two Stay Two Stray

Abstract

This research is a development research that aims to produce a valid and practical Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) based flipbook on the material of linear equations and inequalities of one variable in class VII SMP. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Plomp model, which includes preliminary research, and prototyping phase. Validation was carried out by two mathematics lecturers and a mathematics educator, while the practicality test was carried out on VII grade students of SMP Negeri 3 X Koto Singkarak. The instruments used are interviews, questionnaires of students' opinions, validation questionnaires and practicality questionnaires. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the CTL-based flipbook meets the criteria of being very valid with a validation level of 94.41% and very practical with a practicality level of 91.64%. This flipbook is designed to provide an interactive learning experience by integrating text, images, videos, and relevant contextual questions. The flipbook is expected to be a relevant teaching material innovation to improve the quality of mathematics learning in the digital era. Keywords– Flipbook, Contextual Teaching and Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving, Linear One Variable Equations and Inequalities, Blended Learning.

Abstract

In the preliminary analysis, it was found that the mathematical literacy skills of phase E students of SMA Negeri 13 Padang were still relatively low due to the lack of optimal learning media available such as teaching materials that were still limited. This study aims to produce a flipbook based on Realistic Mathematics Education to improve the mathematical literacy skills of phase E high school students who are valid and practical. This development research uses Plomp's development model which consists of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping or development phase, and assessment phase. In preliminary research, needs analysis, curriculum analysis, concept analysis, and learner analysis were conducted. In the development phase, designing flipbooks based on Realistic Mathematics Education, then conducting formative evaluation, namely self evaluation, expert review, one to one evaluation, and small group evaluation. The flipbook was validated by three experts, while the practicality of the flipbook was determined by 36 students in phase E of SMA Negeri 13 Padang, with data collection through observation, interviews, and filling out questionnaires. The results showed that the Realistic Mathematics Education-based flipbook was categorized as “Very Valid” with a validation level of 89.28% by experts based on aspects of presentation, content feasibility, language, and graphics. In addition, flipbooks are also categorized as “Very Practical” with a practicality level of 95.60% by students based on aspects of ease of use, time efficiency, attractiveness, ease of understanding, and the benefits of flipbooks. Keywords– Flipbook, Realistic Mathematics Education, Kemampuan Literasi Matematis, Perbandingan Trigonometri, Blended Learning

Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical problems is an area of ability that must be developed and mastered in learning mathematics. This ability is in fact still relatively low in class IX SMP Negeri 1 Sutera. Using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is one of the efforts that can be made. The research method used is known as quasi-experimental planning. The proficiency test data was analyzed using t-test, and it was concluded that ?-value = 0.000. If ?-value < 0.05, then H0 should be rejected. After comparing the PBL model with the direct learning model in the ninth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Sutera, it is clear that the PBL model provides optimal results. Keywords– Problem Based Learning, Direct Learning, Mathematical Problem-Solving Abilit

Abstract

In mathematics learning, learning outcomes have an important role in determining learning success. However, in reality, the mathematics learning outcomes of students in class XI MAN 3 Padang City still look low. One of the main causes is that students are still passive in the learning process. To overcome this problem, the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) teaching model is used. This research aims to evaluate whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students in class XI MAN 3 Padang City using the CTL model are better than using conventional learning methods. This research uses a quasi-experiment design with Static Group Design. The population of this study were students of class The research instrument used was a mathematics learning outcomes test in the form of essay questions. Data analysis was carried out using the t-test. The results of the analysis show that the P-value is 0.000 in the t-test with a significance level (α) = 0.05. Because the P-value < α, it can be concluded that students who use CTL produce significant increases in learning outcomes compared to students who use conventional learning in class XI MAN 3 Padang City.Keyword - CTL Learning Model, Conventional Learning Model, Mathematics Learning

Abstract

It is essential for students to have the ability to understand mathematical concepts. As this is the most fundamental level of cognition, mastering it is a prerequisite for developing other skills. However, this is still at a low level at SMAN 4 West Sumatra. Applying the cooperative learning model of think-pair-share (TPS) type is one way to overcome this. In class XI of SMAN 4 West Sumatra, the TPS model was used to see if it could improve students' understanding of mathematical topics compared to the traditional learning model. This study used a quasi experimental with posttest-only control group design. Students from class XI F2 and XI F3 in eleventh grade at SMAN 4 in West Sumatra became the population of this study. According to the data, the class average in the experimental group was greater than the control group. So it can be concluded that TPS provides better knowledge of mathematical concepts compared to the conventional model, because the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the P-value is smaller than α.Keywords– Mathematical Concept Understanding, Think Pair Share Model, Conventional Learning Model

Abstract

A strong understanding of mathematical problem-solving skills is essential for critical thinking when faced with problems in a variety of real-life situations. However, the lack of student engagement in learning makes this ability still relatively low, especially in the seventh grade of SMPN Timpeh. We used the Problem Based Learning (PBL) paradigm to overcome this obstacle. The purpose of this study was to determine whether students' performance in mathematical problem-solving tasks improved when exposed to the PBL model compared to a more traditional learning model. This study used a descriptive quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group. The null hypothesis (H0) was rejected as the P-Value achieved, with α = 0.05, was 0.017, indicating that the P-Value was smaller than α. Based on these findings, the use of PBL model successfully provided optimal results in problem solving compared to conventional learning. Keywords– Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Problem Based Learning, Conventional Learning
