Abstract

The mathematical communication ability is one of the goals of mathematics learning that must be achieved. However, the 7th grade of mathematics in Junior High School 2 Bukittinggi, students mathematical communication ability was not optimal yet. There are some effort that could be used to improve students mathematical communication ability. One of them by applying the 7E Learning Cycle model. The aims of this study was to describe whether the mathematical communication ability of students learning by using the 7E Learning Cycle model better than the students who learn using the direct one. This research used the quasy experiment types with the design of Static Group Design. The results show that the mathematical communication ability of students who learn using the 7E Learning Cycle model has increase. Furthermore, based on the result of the hypothesis test, it is find that the mathematical communication ability of students learning to use the 7E Learning Cycle model are better than the mathematical communication ability of students who learn using the direct learning model. So, it can be conclude that the 7E Learning Cycle model has an influence on students mathematical communication ability.Keywords – 7E LearningiCycle Model, Direct Learning Model, Mathematical Communication Ability.

Abstract

Error analysis is an important thing to do to found out the mastery of the students' material. This study describe mistakes made by students in problems solving math with straight-line equations after applying the learning model cooperative Numbered Heads Together (NHT). The errors studied were based on error according to the Kastolan stages which included conceptual error, procedural error and technical error. Subjects are students class of VIII.1 SMP Negeri 3 Kec. Pangkalan Koto Baru for the academic year 2021/2022 with six research subjects selected to interview. This type research is pre-experimental and descriptive. Data collection techniq are the method of tests and interview. The validity of data carried out by techniques triangulation, namely comparing the data from interview and tests. Data analysis techniques were of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that the research subjects made (1) conceptual errors in the form of students unable to choose the formula correctly, students were correct in choosing formula but could not apply the formula correctly. The percentage of errors is 60.78%, (2) procedural errors in the form of students not being able to solve the problem to the simplest form so that further steps need to be taken, and the discrepancy of the problem solving steps ordered with the completion steps taken by the students. The percentage of errors is 23.53%, (3) technical errorsof students making mistakes in write and calculations with an error percentage of 15.69%.Keywords— Analysis student errors, Types errors according to Kastolan, Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning mode

Abstract

Understanding mathematics concepts is a fundamental goal to be achieved while learning mathematics. However, based on data from daily assessment results of the 'Relations and Functions' teaching material, it was found in the field that understanding of mathematical concepts was still low among his 8th grade students at SMP Pembangnan Laboratorium UNP. His one solution to overcome this problem is to use collaborative learning models for Mood, understanding, recalling, detersion, engaging and validating. The purpose of this study is to show that students' understanding of mathematical concepts using a MURDER-type collaborative learning model is superior to that of students using a direct learning model in Class 8th at the SMP Pembangnan Laboratorium UNP. It was about knowing if it was better than understanding. This type of study is quasi-experimental with a quasi-experimental study design. Sample selection was performed by a simple random sampling technique, with Class VIII B being the experimental class and Class VIII A being the control class. The tools for this study were quizzes and final tests to understand math concepts. The results showed that comprehension of mathematics concepts was higher among students who learned in Mood, Comprehension, Recall, Digestion, Expansion, and Repetitive Collaborative Learning models than students who learned in conventional learning. Abstract

The purpose of this LKPD development research is to prepare student worksheets based on valid and practical multiple intelligences for senior high school class XI. This research is a development research using the plomp step which consists of three stages, namely: the preliminary research stage, the prototype making stage, and the assessment stage. Based on the results of the validation of student worksheets in terms of four aspects, namely: content feasibility, linguistic aspects, presentation aspects, and typography aspects, it shows that multiple intelligence-based student worksheets have a validity level of 77.38% with the valid category. In the practicality category of the student worksheets, seen from the responses of three students who had done the one to one evaluation stage, it was 80.83% with the practical category. Based on these results it can be concluded that multiple intelligence-based student worksheets can be declared valid and practical. Keywords—development research, student worksheets, multiple intelligence

Abstract

Proficiency in mathematical communication is crucial for students to develop, encompassing both verbal and written forms. Students' mathematical communication abilities are still rather low. The Think Pair Share cooperative learning methodology was used to address this issue. This learning paradigm has been implemented and evaluated in class XI Phase F at SMA Negeri 8 Padang. The research design is a quasi-experiment with random sampling using a Non-equivalent posttest-only control group design. A P-value of 0.005 was derived from the Mann Whitney test. Research has demonstrated that pupils utilizing the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model outperform those using traditional learning methods in class XI Phase F SMA Negeri 8 Padang.Keywords: Mathematic communication skill, Think Pair Share, Conventional Learning

Abstract

Learning media in schools have not facilitated students to learn actively. Therefore, an interactive learning CD was developed on the geometry in junior high school was developed to facilitate students in learning. This type of research is design research. The model in this study is the Plomp model which consists of three phases, namely preliminary research, development and prototyping phase, and assessment phase. At the preliminary research phase requires needs analysis, student analysis, curriculum analysis, and concept analysis. At the development and prototyping phase, the product is designed using macromedia flash 8 application Futhermore, the product will be evaluated to obtain valid criteria through self evaluation and expert review. After the product is declared valid, one to one evaluation and small group evaluation are carried out. The results of the analysis of the validity of the questionnaire obtainen a percentage of 87,89% with a very valid category. The results of the questionnaire analysis of student responses to one to one evaluation obtained a percentage of 90,83% with a very practical category and a small group evaluation obtained a percentage of 91,67% with a very practical category. It can be concluded that the development of constructivism based interactive learning CD in junior high school geometry material is valid and practical. Keywords— Interactive learning CD, Constructivism

Abstract

Mathematical understanding concepts is a main skill that is fundamental to dealing with various problems in mathematics learning. But in actuality, the students ability remains at a low level. To solve this problem, the CORE learning model can be applied. This study intends to ascertained if the student’s mathematical concept comprehension skills who are learned with the CORE model are superior to those who are learned with the direct learning model in XI MIPA grade in SMAN 5 Padang. The selected samples were XI MIPA 1 students namely experimental group and XI MIPA 2 students namely comparison group. The results were analysed by t-test and indicated that the student’s mathematical concepts comprehension skills who are learned with the CORE model are superior to those who are learned with the direct learning model in XI MIPA grade in SMAN 5 Padang.Keywords– CORE, Mathematical Understanding Concepts

Abstract

The mathematical communication is one of ability that whised to be own by students in mathematics learning. In fact that found the mathematical communication ability student of eleventh grade in social science SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP is still low. One effort that can do for overcome these problems is using Learning Cycle 5E model based constructivism. The purpose of this study is to know whether the mathematical communication ability of student who learn using Learning Cycle 5E model is better than the mathematical communication ability of student who learn using conventional learning. Based on data analysis from the final test of mathematical communication ability using nonparametric statistic test by U-Mann Whitney test, it can be conclude the mathematical communication ability of student who learn using Learning Cycle 5E model is better than the mathematical communication ability of student who learn using convensional learning.Keywords — Learning Cycle 5E model, Constructivism, mathematical communication.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning tools with PMRI approach on SPLTV material for class X SMA/MA. The learning tools developed were assessed based on their validity and practicality. This type of research is development research with the Plomp development model, namely the initial investigation, development or prototyping stage  and  the  assessment  stage.  At   the   initial  investigation  stage,  needs  analysis, curriculum analysis, concept analysis, and student analysis were carried out in order to obtain  the  characteristics  of  the  form  of  learning  tools  developed.  At  the development/prototyping  stage,  a  prototype  learning  device  design  in  the  form  of  RPP and LKPD is made using the PMRI approach for SPLTV material. The prototype used will go through formative evaluation such as self-evaluation and evaluation with experts to  get  a  valid  prototype.  Furthermore,  at  the  last  stage  is  the  assessment  stage,  at  this stage the goal is to get the practical criteria for the LKPD prototype after conducting an individual evaluation. In this study, it was carried out when the pandemic was endemic, so  in  this  study  there  were  several  stages  that  could  not  be  carried  out  properly.  This research was only carried out until the stage of development/prototyping of the one-on- one  evaluation  section.  The  conclusion  of  this  research  is  that  learning  tools  using  the PMRI approach on SPLTV materials, namely RPP and LKPD, can be said to be valid and practical. Keywords − learning tools, SPLTV, PMRI
