Abstract

Based on the results of preliminary research at grade VIII SMP in the field, most of the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII SMPN 25 Padang students have not been completed and students are not active during the mathematics learning process at school. One of the factors is the not optimal learning tools used by educators. From that case, to be underlying to do development  learning tools of mathematics, there are plan lesson plan  (RPP) and student’s  worksheets (LKPD)  on  Pair Checks cooperative learning mode, which can provide learning experiences and have a good potential effect on student learning activities. during the learning process. Data were collected through observation, teacher interviews, and valid research sources. The subjects of this research are students grade VIII SMP. This research is a development research used plomp mode  consists of phase preliminiary research,  prototype phase, and  assessment phase. Based on the data analysis result, it was showed  that the learning equipment  based on  Pair Checks cooperative learning mode has fulfilled valid criteria in terms of content and construction, and has fulfilled practical criteria in terms of  implementation and efficiency of time use based on student questionnaires. Keywords __ Pair Checks, development, learning devices

Abstract

Good math communication abilities are expected in math. As observed in the field, class VIII students at SMP Negeri 26 Padang in 2023/2024 had inadequate mathematical communication abilities. The Think Talk Write (TTW) learning paradigm was used to solve problems. This research analyzes students' math communication skills when teaching with TTW model, which is superior to conventional learning, and describes how those skills develop from the model. The non-equivalent posttest-only control group design is used in this quasi-experimental descriptive research. The quiz and final test assessed mathematical communication. Normal distribution and homogenous variance are required for the t-test data analysis. Analysis of quiz data showed all indices of students' mathematical communication developed. P-value <α rejects H0, indicating the TTW cooperative model impacts communication abilities.Keywords–Mathematical Communication Skills, TTW,  Conventional Learning

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is important aspect of learning mathematics. However, in fact students’ mathematical communication ability in grade VII MTs Negeri 6 Padang was still low. Observation showed that students’ were less interest in mathematics learning which was difficult and boring. One efforts that can be done was applying cooperative learning model Think Pair Square type. Type of research was quasi experimental research with static group design. Sampling was done by simple random sampling technique. Instrument was final test. Data analysis used t test. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that students’ mathematical communication ability who learning by cooperative learning model think pair square type is better than direct instruction.Keywords— cooperative learning model think pair square type, direct instruction, mathematical communication ability

Abstract

The learning process can run effectively and efficient if using teaching materials that are in accordance with the needs of students, support the competencies to be achieved and have a sustematic description of the material, and can facilitate students to actively from their own understanding. But in reality students still tend to be passive in learning and are not accustomed to constructing their own knowledge. The teaching materials used are printed books from erlangga and LKPD from publishers. The absence of LKPD development from educators is due to the limitations of educators in utilizing technology and time constraints in designing attractive LKPD. This resulted in the absence of a valid and practical LKPD. This study aims to create an LKPD based on a valid an Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) teaching methide, for grade XI hight school students. This type of study is a design study using the plomp development model, which includes needs analysis, program analysis, concept analysis, and student analysis. The prototyping phase consists of steps taken in the design of the LKPD. In step 1 of the prototype, a process of self-assessment is performed (self-evaluation). In prototype 2, an expert review was performed, which was then assessed by the experts to obtain a valid prototype. In phase 3 of the prototype, an individual assessment was performed by testing LKPD on 3 students with heterogeneous qualifications. During prototype 4 phase, a small group evaluation was conducted on six students with heterogeneous ability levels, to determine the practicality of the LKPD. From the studies that have been done, it os known that the LKPD based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on trigonometric equation material has a validity level of 86,5% with very valid criteria (based on three experts, namely teo mathematics lectures and one educator). LKPD also has a level of practicality. Using the very practical category as much as 88,38% by students in the one-to-one evaluation stage and 91,86% of the students in the small group assessment phase. Keywords – LKPD, Realistic Mathematics Education, valid, practical

Abstract

Abstract—.Problem solving capability is the goal of learning mathematics, but in reality the ability to solve the mathematical problem of participants is still low. The application of  inquiry learning model is  is one of the efforts that can be done to overcome the problem. The type of research used is quasy-experimental research with the research design of The Static Group Design. Based on the results of data analysis of the final test the research ,it was concluded that there is an influence on the application of inquiry learning model  to the ability of mathematical students problem solving, so that mathematical problem solving skills of students who learn with inquiry learning model are better than those of mathematical problem solving skills of students who learn with the direct learning Model. Keywords — Inquiry learning model, Mathematics learning, Mathematical problem solving skills.

Abstract

One of the important mathematical abilities to master is mathematical concept understanding. The reality found in the field is that class VII students of SMPN 12 Padang have a relatively low mathematical concept understanding. Applying the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) method is one way to increase students' mathematical concepts understanding. This research aims to examine how students' mathematical concepts understanding develops while using the RME approach and assess whether students who learn using the RME approach understand mathematical concepts better than students who learn directly in class VIII at SMP Negeri 12 in Padang in the 2022/2023 academic year. This type of research is quasy-experimental and descriptive with the research design Non-equivalent Post-test Only Control Group Design. Class VIII SMP Negeri 12 Padang in the 2022/2023 academic year was the population of this study. The experimental class is class VIII 1 and VIII 2 as control class, then the descriptive subject is VIII.1. Abstract

Learning interest is one of the factors that affect the learning outcomes of students. High learning interest will help students obtain high learning outcomes as well. This research was conducted to determine and analyze the interest in learning mathematics of class IX students of SMP Negeri 15 Padang. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The data collection tool in this study was a questionnaire. The results showed that the students' interest in learning mathematics class IX SMP Negeri 15 Padang was in the medium category with an average percentage of  66.52%. Keywords__ Learning Interest, Mathematics Learning, Student

Abstract

Mathematical learning requires goals. However, UTS results revealed that Class X students at SMA N 1 Ampek Angkek in 2022/2023 had poor mathematics learning outcomes. These maths questions will be solved via TTW cooperative learning. Quasi-experimental research uses non-equivalent post-test only control groups. Study participants were 2023/2024 SMA N 1 Ampek Angkek Class XI students. Simple random sampling selected class. Math learning outcomes test results were analysed using normality, homogeneity, and t-tests. The TTW cooperative learning technique improved maths learning, the research revealed. A t-test rejected H0 at 0.05 with a P-value of 0.020 after data processing. Abstract

Understandingof mathematical concepts ability is one of the basic capabilities that should be owned by everylearners in the learning of mathematics. However, the 8th grade of mathematics in Junior High School 10 Padang, students mathematical conceptsability was not optimal yet. It was becausethe learning process wasstill teacher-centered. To overcome this, teacher neededto apply the learning model to facilitatethe students for understanding of mathematical conceptsto improve their own knowledge. The learning model that could be usedCooperative Learning type Think Talk Write (TTW). This kind of research was quasi experiment, with Static Group Design. Abstract

The success of a learner in understanding concepts of learning is typically determined by the learning results they achieve. Despite the high final term value assessment of mathematics class X SMAN 2 Sutera 2020/2021, the school is still concerned about the low level of student achievement. One manner to address the problem is to use the realistic mathematical learning module of the mathematical learning process. This study is aimed at documenting the outcomes of students who learned mathematics through realistic educational modules at SMAN 2 Sutera. The type of research being conducted is a pre-experiment designed for the one shot case study. The student is a member of the 2020/2021 class at the X science SMA N 2 Sutera. The instrument used is a mathematical check that may be defined in terms of matter of description, and the data is analyzed by the test sample t. Analysis of the data shows that H0 is rejected is can be concluded that an e-learning module based on realistic mathematical education affect the results that learn with a facts-based learning module are batter than those of prveious learning. Keywords: E-modul, Realistic Math Education, Results from Studying Mathematics
