Abstract

Mathematical literacy abilities are important abilities for students to solve daily problems and develop their mathematical ability. Then, the students need to have mathematical literacy ability because this ability is one of the national focuses in the future in assessing the quality of education in schools. But, in reality the students of class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 3 Padang have low mathematical literacy ability. The effort that can be made to improve that ability of students are to apply Realistic Mathematics Education model. The type of the research is quasy experiment research with non-equivalent posttest only control group design. Results showed that mathematical literacy ability of students that apply Realistic Mathematics Education model is better than mathematical literacy ability of students that apply conventional learning. Moreover, the mathematical literacy ability of students that apply Realistic Mathematics Education model has increased significantly.Keywords– mathematical literacy ability, realistic mathematics education, conventional learning

Abstract

This study aims to describe the errors made by students in solving math story problems based on Newman's error analysis. In this study, using 5 questions about the story of the material of rank and root form given to 26 students of class IXC SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. The questions were analyzed using Newman's error analysis and interviews were conducted with 6 selected students to analyze and find out the causes of student errors. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of Miles and Huberman and the validity of the data is tested by data triangulation. The results showed that the most frequent Newman error indicator was the process error indicator with a percentage of 76.9% and the least error was an error in understanding the question with a percentage of 49.2%. Factors that cause student errors are the low talent of students, students' habits of not repeating learning and inaccuracies. Keywords – Newman Error Analysis, Story Problem, eksponen and rooth form

Abstract

This study aims to see how the influence of motivation on mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 21 Padang. Motivation has a very important role in various activities, one of which is in learning activities. This type of research is a descriptive quantitative research. The approach used in this research is a correlational approach because it looks for the influence between one variable and another. The results of the analysis show that the data analysis ofithe research results obtained the ccorrelation coefficient r count > r.table (0.365> 0.2335) at a significant level of 5% and has an effect of 13%. Keywords - Descriptive Research, Learning Motivation, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Mathematical communication is one of the aspects that has a significant importance that must be accomplished in the learning process, especially in mathematics. Based on the observation in SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung, it shows that the matematical comunication ability of students in class IX is still not optimal. An alternative way to solve this problem is by using the Formulate-Share-Listen-Create (FSLC) model. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of mathematical comunication skills on student who learn using the FSLC model better than students who learn using a direct learning model. This kind of research is a quasi-experiment through a Non-Equivalent post-test only control group design. The target population in this study is students in grade IX of SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung in 2023/2024 academic year. The sampling process was implemented through a simple random samping technique. The instrument used is presented in the form of a final test of mathematical communication ability. Based on the results of the final hypothesis testing, the P-value = 0,004 is achieved with a real standard of 0,005, which means that the P-value <  and therefore the  is rejected. Hence, it can be conclude that there is an effect on the mathematical communication ability of students after studying by applying the FSLC model.Keywords – Formulate-Share-Listen­-Create (FSLC), Mathematical Communication Skills.

Abstract

SMPN 1 Ampek Angkek is one of the new schools use Online learning in the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the efforts to improve student learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is to apply mathematics learning using Google Classroom media. The purpose of the study was to determine and analyze the effect of Google Classroom learning media on mathematics learning on the learning outcomes of class VII SMPN 1, Ampek Angkek, Agam Regency. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The population is class VII SMPN 1 Ampek Angkek for the academic year 2021/2022. Sampling was done by a simple random sampling technique. The number of students in the experimental and control classes amounted to 31 and 32 people, respectively. The data analysis technique was carried out by the t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, it was determined that P-value = 0.002, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted because 0.002 0.05 indicates that there is an effect of using Google Classroom media on Online mathematics learning. Keywords– Learning Media in Google Classroom, Mathematics Learning, and Learning Outcomes

Abstract

E-modules are presentations of material in electronic form with links to each lesson, complete with videos, animations and audio presentations for a learning experience. The purpose of this study is to describe teaching materials in the form of e-modules in a valid and practical manner and to describe the effectiveness of teaching materials in the form of e-modules on learning outcomes. This type of research is development research with the ADDIE model which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data for this research are needs analysis data, validation data, performance data, and effectiveness data. The survey instruments were the Student Characteristics Questionnaire, Self-Assessment Analysis Questionnaire, Youth Module Validation Matrix Questionnaire, One-to-One Evaluation Interview Questionnaire, and Youth Module Matrix Practice Questionnaire. As a result, we find that the material shape of the modular matrix has very good categorical effect sizes (based on validation by two mathematicians). The material format of Young's Matrix coefficients is research based on the resuIts of surveys and interviews and has great practical relevance. The resuIts of the validity evaluation show that the material in the form of a matrix module can improve student learning outcomes.Keywords – e-module, ADDIE Model, Matrix, sigil software

Abstract

Student mathematics understanding ability is a basic ability who students need to have. It is will be better if the students can find the concept by themselves. By implementing problem based      learning, students can construct their knowledge and the relation of concept by solving the problems in real-life. So, it need to do the research in other to mathematics understanding ability to students is better than previous. This research is experiment0research by means0of nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The0result of the research shows that problems based learning model can increase students’ mathematics understanding ability, students’ mathematics understanding ability with learning problem based learning0model0is better0than convensional learning model, so generally the development of     students’ understanding the mathematical concept of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Batanghari has increased which can be seen from the score’s mean of1the final concept understanding test.Keywords – problem based learning model, students’ mathematics understanding ability

Abstract

This-research aims to develop-student’s  worksheets (LKPD) based on problems for 1st grade students of SMA in 1st semester on Nilai Mutlak and Sistem Persamaan Linear Tiga Variabel material. The research model used is Plomp model-that consists of several types, Preliminary,Prototyping and Assessment Phase. On Preliminary, students analysis, curriculum analysis, and concept analysis have been done. Prototyping is the steps to design LKPD that consists of prototype 1 and prototype 2. On prototype 1 self evaluation and expert review have been done-to see the validity of LKPD that have been developed. On prototype 2 there is one-to-one evaluation, by testing the learning tools which have-been validated toward three students. The last-step is assessment-phase that aimed to see the validity and practicality of LKPD. The result-of this research showed-that LKPD based on problems that developed has been valid and practice. Based on the validator evaluation we can get the result is 86,17% that categorized as very valid and the result of three students that has done one-to-one evaluation is 91% which categorized as vary practical.   Keywords __ Worksheet, Project Based Learning

Abstract

Learners' ability to solve problems is an important skill that cannot be separated from learners. Initial test results at SMPN 12 Padang showed the need to improve this ability. One of the steps taken is the implementation of the Auditory, Intellectually and Repetition learning model. The results of the final test analysis of mathematical problem solving ability with a real level of α = 0.05, obtained a P-Value = 0.01 where the P-Value <α so as to reject  This means that the application of the Auditory, Intellectually and Repetition model has an impact on the mathematical problem solving ability of students in class IX SMPN 12 Padang.Keywords — Mathematical problem solving skill, Auditory, Intellectually and Repetition Learning Model
