Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out whether or not there is a significant effect of using climbing grammar mountain game on students writing achievement of the eighth-grade students at MTsN 2 Batanghari. This was quantitative research that was conducted with a quasi-experimental design. The subjects in this research were 39 students. The study result showed that the mean of the post-test score (56.62) was higher than the mean of the pre-test score (51.69) in the experimental class. The p-value in the paired sample t-test was less than 0,05 (0,002<0,05). It shows that the result was significantly different. As a result, was accepted. It shows that students' writing ability improved significantly before and after being taught through the climbing grammar mountain game. The p-value for the independent sample t-test in the equal variances assumed and not assumed cases was (0,007<.0,05). It shows that has been accepted and has been rejected. It shows that there was a significant difference between the students who were taught using the climbing grammar mountain game and those who were not.

Abstract

This research aims at determining the similarities, dissimilarities, and possible learning difficulties faced by students learning English and Indonesian nominalization as well as the recommendations to TEFL. The qualitative research design was applied. The documentation technique was used to collect the data. To analyze the data, the researchers used a descriptive analysis. The results showed that there were three similarities and four the dissimilarities between English and Indonesian nominalization found. The three similarities were in suffixation, demonstrative pronominal and conversion. While, the four dissimilarities were in affixation, Adjective reduplication, conversion and To-infinitive. The possible learning difficulties faced by students learning English and Indonesian nominalization was suffixation and confixation which were not very familiar with them. The recommendations of this research was as a fundamental teaching guidance in helping English teachers design a better teaching Grammar on nominalization (word classes), in terms of affixation, Adjective reduplication, conversion and To-infinitive. Abstract

Abstract. The study aims to investigate the problems: “Whether or not there is any significant effect of using Repeated Reading Method to the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanah Abang.” Therefore, the objective of the research was to find out whether or not there is any significant effect of using repeated reading method on the students’ reading narrative text to the eighth-grade students’ of SMP Negeri 1 Tanah Abang Pali. The sample of this research was 62 students, divided in to two classes: experimental class and control class. The sample of this research was purposive sampling. The data obtained were analyzed by using independents sample t-test in SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) The result of t-obtained 4.752 was at the significant level p<0.05 for two tailed and degree of freedom (df) was 60, t-table was 2,000. Abstract

This study entitled Students’ Perceptions on the Use of Zoom Application in English Language Learning at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Palembang. The main problem of this study was students’ Perception on the Use of Zoom Application in English Language Learning at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Palembang. The objective of this study was to find out the students’ Perception on the Use of Zoom Application in English Language Learning. The subject of this study were thirty-three students of SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Palembang. This study used aqualitativemethod. The instruments in collecting the data was questionnaire.Based on the students answer from questionnaire, theresearchers concluded that most of students had negative perception about using Zoomapplication in learning English. The students also hasa perceptionthat zoom application was not to effective media to help the students in learning English. Keywords: Students’ Perception, Zoom Application, English Learning.

Abstract

Statistically, the number of academically gifted children is quite many who are distributed in all areas. The academically gifted children will be beneficial for themselves and other people if they can develop optimally. Many academically gifted children are successful in their lives, however, we can find some of them feel difficulties. Because of that, they need counseling services. There are some important issues in counseling, especially for academically gifted children, such as (1) divergent thinking, (2) excitability, (3) sensitivity, (4) perceptiveness, and (5) entelechy. (6) self-concept, (7) counseling with parents, and (8) underachievement. To help in facing important issues, it is needed social-personal counseling, academic counseling, and career counseling. These three counseling approaches are needed simultaneously and depend on their needs. The models and strategies of counseling for academically gifted children are therapeutic, preventive, and developmental models. The choice of models is strongly determined by the need for effective counseling, to achieve the optimal result. To establish effective counseling, it is needed counseling services conducted by professional counselors.
