Abstract

Injection molding is one method that is widely used because of the lower cost required. The resulting plastic product is inseparable from the problem of product defects. This research uses quantitative methods and data collection or field on the subject of research, after that analyzing each parameter. The results of this study the occurrence of several defects in the product, namely short molding product defects have the most defects, namely 3, while over mold, sink mark and weldmark or flow product defects are 2 and the least is the hole product defect, namely 1. The setting at temperature determines the quality, especially in terms of appearance, at a temperature of 190 0C gives a much better product quality compared to temperatures of 180 and 200 0C. Analyze the optimal screw speed of 8 Rpm so that the resulting product can become a desired bottle product. Analysis of product defects that occur are Sink Mark, Weldmark or flow mark, Shrinkage and Over Mold which occurs at temperatures of 180 - 200 0C. The defects that most often arise because the mold has uneven lines so that defects occur in bottle products.

Abstract

This research aims to test and validate the performance of the IMBP Machine that has been created, ensuring that the machine can operate effectively and perform its components' functions as expected. Additionally, the objectives of this study include achieving the desired processing results of 50 grams per hour of plastic seeds and systematically developing the process of manufacturing the IMBP Machine, starting from the construction of the iron frame, gear housing, end plate, barrel, hopper, cover, packing, knife shaft, blades, binding shaft, and finishing process. The research methodology employed encompasses field observation, literature review, testing and measurement methods, as well as analytical methods. Field observation is utilized to observe and gather data from machines operating in the field. Literature review is conducted to obtain information related to the theory and practices of the IMBP Machine. Testing and measurement methods are employed to evaluate machine performance and collect data regarding the achieved processing outcomes. Furthermore, the analytical method is used to compare the obtained data with the desired specifications, thus validating whether the machine has achieved the intended targets. The research findings demonstrate that this machine successfully produces the IMBP Machine according to the desired specifications. It is proven to function effectively in processing plastic and carbon materials. With the results of this research, it is expected that this machine can contribute positively to plastic waste processing and carbon waste reduction processes.

Abstract

UKM (Small-Medium Business) Panggon Ngombe is one of the Small-Medium Businesses in Medan that produces Beverages. The processed product from UKM Panggon Ngombe is Boba Drink. UKM Panggon Ngombe has problems in marketing their products; one of the reasons is the unattractive product packaging and still not following customer needs. This study aimed to produce Kansei words that were priorities for beverage packaging improvements, to determine the importance of items affected consumer tastes, and to produce packaging category specifications and beverage packaging designs by using the Kansei Engineering method. Kansei Engineering is defined as a methodology to translate human psychological processes towards the expected product design, by defining consumers' expectations identified through Kansei words into product design. The sample used in the study used a survey method, it was a way of taking a sample with a questionnaire as a research tool in a population, and only 100 respondents were studied, so the conclusions showed were limited to objects. The results of the study produced Kansei words luxury, informative, aesthetic appearance, durable, practical, attractive, and hygienic. The importance level of the items obtained 7 Kansei words for bottle packaging, 6 Kansei words for plastic packaging materials, 7 Kansei words for brown and black packaging colors, 6 Kansei words for 600 ml packaging size, 7 Kansei words for packaging information, 7 Kansei words for circle logo shape, 7 Kansei words for comic san MS writing type, 7 Kansei words for yellow and white packaging writing colors, and 6 Kansei words for boba images on packaging. Specifications for beverage packaging in the bottles form with plastic packaging materials, brown and black packaging colors, packaging sizes 600 ml, yellow and white writing colors, circle logo shape, product information, and boba picture.

Abstract

UD. Sofa Bandar Tinggi is an UMKM in the manufacturing sector with sofa production. In producing sofas in the production process there is still waste. The wastage that occurred in the last year was as much as 17 sets of overproduction, 17 sets of unnecessary inventory, 22 sets of defects and 45 minutes of waiting time. Therefore, it is necessary to identify waste and analyze the causes of this waste to increase productivity by implementing lean manufacturing in the sofa production process using value stream mapping to determine product flow and information flow that support other activities and also to eliminate waste and find the causes of this waste by fishbone diagrams. Based on the current value stream mapping results, the lead time is 109.63 minutes, the value added is 94.21 minutes. After the process activity mapping was carried out, the current stream mapping future state results showed that the lead time decreased to 98.26 minutes. And also the translation of a problem from the fishbone diagram, namely the man factor (lack of discipline, low skill of workers), measurement (repeated wood cutting), method (uneven wood pieces), material (inappropriate wood thickness). The recommendations for improvement to minimize waste are in the form of Standard Operation Procedures and implementing 5S.

Abstract

Service quality is the most important factor for the bank so that the Bank can keep surviving and developing.. The way to improve service quality is trying to find out customers' desires, where the Fuzzy Servqual (Service Quality) and QFD (Quality Function Deployment) methods were used in improving the quality of bank services. The purpose of this research was to design a service improvement proposal at Bank Mandiri KCP Medan Citra Garden by using Fuzzy Servqual and QFD. In this study, a survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents from Bank Mandiri KCP Medan Citra Garden based on data processing performed using the Fuzzy Servqual method, for designing improvement proposals using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. The level of customer satisfaction at Bank Mandiri KCP Medan Citra Garden was lower than the importance level of affected factors in customer satisfaction at Bank Mandiri KCP Medan Citra Garden which needed to be more improved was the Tangible dimension (Physical Evidence) shown in the comfort and security of the location and parking lot provided with a score of -13.17. Furthermore, that had to be maintained on the Tangible dimension (Physical Evidence) was shown in the bank officers' appearances who were always neat and wore masks and gloves with a score of 4.496 at Bank Mandiri KCP Medan Citra Garden. Thus, it was recommended to Bank Mandiri KCP Medan Citra Garden to further improve service performance on all services.

Abstract

The study analyzed the effect of price, product, and service quality on customer satisfaction at PT. Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE) Tebing Tinggi. This research was a quantitative descriptive study with data analysis techniques used, namely multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing (t-test and f test). This research was conducted at PT. Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE) Tebing Tinggi. On Gen. Sudirman street No.397 Medan-Tebing Tinggi, it was held on 12 December 2020 to 12 February 2021. The data collection method used a questionnaire and documentation. The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained Y=6.226+0.085X1+0.244X2+0.184X3+e. The results showed that the Price had no positive and significant effect on Consumer Satisfaction at PT. JNE Tebing Tinggi indicated by the value of t count (0.873) t table (1.984) meaning that the Price had no significant effect on Consumer Satisfaction, so H1 was rejected. The product had no positive and significant effect on Consumer Satisfaction as indicated by the t value (1.975) 1 table (1.984), meaning that the product had no significant effect on Consumer Satisfaction, so H2 was rejected. Service Quality had a positive and significant effect on Consumer Satisfaction as indicated by the value of t count (3.477) t table (1.984), meaning that Service Quality had a significant effect on Consumer Satisfaction, so H3 was accepted. Price, Product, and Service Quality together had a positive and significant effect on Consumer Satisfaction. This was indicated by the value of Fcount (13.559) Ftable (3.09) meaning that the variables of price, product, and service quality together had a positive and significant effect on Customer Satisfaction at PT. JNE Tebing Tinggi then H4 was accepted. The coefficient of determination (R square) was 0.298, which meant 29.8% of the Consumer Satisfaction variable could be explained by the three independent variables consisting of Price, Product, and Service Quality, while the remaining 70.2% of the Consumer Satisfaction variable was influenced by other variables not discussed in this research.

Abstract

Buying decisions are part of consumer behavior; consumer behavior is research on how people, groups, and organizations select, buy, use, and how goods, services, ideas, or experiences satisfy their needs and wants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of price, product variation, and product quality on purchasing decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic at UKM (Small Medium Enterprise) Cap Rumah Adat Minang Medan. The type of research is associative research. The populations in this study were all customers who bought cassava chips during the COVID-19 pandemic at UKM Cap Rumah Adat Minang Medan. The samples in the study were 100 consumers. The sampling technique used was non-robability sampling with an accidental sampling approach. Then, data collections methods used were questionnaires, interviews, and a literature study. The analytical method used was the multiple linear regression analysis methods which were processed with SPSS 25.0 software. The results obtained were that price, product variation, and product quality simultaneously affect the decision to buy cassava chips during the COVID-19 pandemic at UKM Cap Rumah Adat Minang Medan at age 20 with a score of 40.583 and 0.000 and age 21-25 with a score of 75.332 and 0.000. Meanwhile, price, product variation, and product quality simultaneously did not affect the decision to buy cassava chips during the COVID-19 pandemic at UKM Cap Rumah Adat Minang Medan at the age of 26-30 with a score of 0.249 and 0.000, age 30 with a score of 1.109 and 0.361, and the highest coefficient of determination was at the age of 21-25 with a score of 90.7%. Thus, price, product variety, and product quality had a very strong influence on buying decisions, the remaining 9.3% was influenced by other factors outside of this research variable.

Abstract

A hammer mill is a machine that grinds both grains and stones into fine particles called flour. The working principle of the hammer mill is that the impact process is carried out by dynamic blades repeatedly so that it breaks into small particles. The hammer mill consists of dynamic blades mounted on a rotating shaft under which there is a screen that controls the maximum particle size to exit the grinding chamber from within the hummer mill. In the process of making a hummer mill machine there are several problem formulations. One of these problems is the hummer mill machine manufacturing process and the influence of rotation variations on the hummer mill machine. so in this case the author tries to make a machine to achieve this problem, where the hummer mill machine can maximize efficiency in order to achieve more effectiveness. The advantages of this machine, besides being able to grind animal feed, can also grind rocks in the form of fine grains using a 3 mm or 5 mm sieve, which means more efficient 2 uses are needed. while the cost of making this machine does not have to be expensive but affordable, this hummer mill machine can produce a production capacity of 200 kg/hour.

Abstract

The motivation behind this plan is to speed up the stripping of quail egg shells, quail eggs are typically handled with different types of food, subsequently requiring a stripping cycle. The timeframe for stripping quail egg shells by manual is a normal of 10 seconds/thing, on the off chance that in huge amounts a peeler is required. From these issues the creator made a "Self-loader Quail Egg Shell Peeler to Increase Productivity and Effectiveness in Quail Egg Shell Peeler". Shaft width. Estimation of creation limit depends on the revolution of the screwdriver with a heap. In light of the plan, the details of the device are gotten utilizing a 12 volt 62 rpm electric engine with a force of 300 watts, a shaft width of 20 mm. The creation limit is gotten by pivoting the screwdriver with a heap of 62 rpm with a creation limit of 240 grains.

Abstract

Universitas X, which is a private university, annually accepts new student registrations with fluctuating numbers over the last 10 years. The supply of lecture equipment did not match the number of new students who registered. Therefore, it is necessary to forecast the number of new students in the future, so that the supply of lecture equipment can be met. The purpose of this study is to determine the need for new student lecture equipment for the coming year using the double exponential smoothing forecasting method, find out the level of safety stock for the lecture equipment needs for the coming year, knowing the amount of inventory for lecture equipment using the forecasting method taking into account the safety stock in the coming year. The forecasting method used was the Double Exponential Smoothing method and determined safety stock as the safety stock for lecture equipment. The results showed that number of student for A.Y 2021/2022 was 2374 people and for A.Y 2022/2023 was 2.424 people with a total safety stock of 710 bukus. With a service level of 90%, the total supply of manuals for A.Y 2021/2022 is 3.084 bukus and for A.Y 2022/2023 was 3.134 bukus.
