Abstract

At present, the need to use plastics and the advancement of manufacturing technology for the material itself drive people's demand for plastics, and the development of technology has further increased competition in all fields of industry. Therefore, the plastics industry needs to increase production in terms of quality and quantity. In this way, plastic can slowly replace iron and steel due to its good moldability and light weight. In this research, as a research method, we use quantitative methods by conducting surveys, data collection and field research related to the research theme. After the data is collected, the next step is the fabrication of the test equipment. From the mold fabrication results, the mold is in the shape of a 30 ml bottle with dimensions of 105 mm x 40 mm, inlet ø 6 mm, outlet 3 mm, and the mold is made of aluminum. This mold is called the 3 plate system and the mold consists of 3 main parts which are divided into 3 parts. Good and ideal molding results were obtained with HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) material with injection speed parameters of 8 rpm and temperature of 190°C.

Abstract

As well as at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV unit Adolina, it is a company engaged in palm oil processing become semi-finished raw materials, i.e. CPO (Crude Palm Oil) and Kernel core. Similarly on losses on CPO and Kernel core occurred when production process, palm oil factory PTPN IV unit Adolina is very minimize loss as little as possible on CPO and Kernel core occurred. So, the purposes of the study are to find out how big losses on CPO and Kernel core, to increase OER and KER by using Statistical Process Control (SPC) method. Based on the analysis results obtained that, the amount of losses in station of Empty Bunches (X1 = 0.57%), Press (X2 = 0.56%), Nut (X3 = 0.10), Last Sludge (X4 = 0.39), Fibre Cyclone (X5 = 0.26), LTDS (X6 = 0.12), and Claybath (X7 = 0.01). Thus, there are four factors affect the occurrence of losses on CPO and Kernel core, i.e. Human Resources, Machine, and Raw Materials

Abstract

UMKM UD. Andika is a furniture craftsman located in Sidotani Village, Bandar District, Simalungun Regency. This UMKM operates in the furniture industry with furniture products for doors, windows, cabinets, chairs and others. Furniture craftsmen must arrange marketing strategies that are considered appropriate to face competition in the market and must be able to analyze and anticipate environmental changes, both internally and externally. The research aims to identify internal and external factors. The use of SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) methods to determine the right company strategy in identifying optimal areas is very important for the development of the company's next strategy. The results showed that the SWOT analysis obtained 8 marketing strategies, namely maintaining quality, being more active in technology, improving management skills, maintaining an image, increasing the number of employees, maintaining excellence, implementing a digital marketing system, following trends in design and innovation. While in the QSPM analysis, the preferred strategy is to implement a digital marketing system in order to compete with new competitors.

Abstract

The Medan City Government uses the Trans Metro Deli Bus as a mode of transportation in Medan City. The Trans Metro Deli Bus use aims to serve the needs of passengers along the route. For the operation of Trans Metro Deli, it is necessary to have supporting facilities, which is a bus stop. The construction of inefficient bus stops will result in increased transportation problems because many people who should be the target users are lazy to use this mode because of difficulties when using existing facilities. The purposes of the study were to determine the number and location of bus stops and to analyze the number of passengers getting on and off in corridor V. The study was conducted along Corridor V, namely Tembung – Lapangan Merdeka. The research used the Set Covering Problem method to determine the location of an efficient bus stop by minimizing the number of bus stops while being able to meet all demand points. The types of research were survey field research, questionnaire distribution, and direct observation. The data processing results concluded that 12 efficient shelter locations could meet the demand points for the bus stop construction. The bus stops locations that would be built were in the Tembung gas station, Alfamidi Letda Sujono, Budisatrya School, CV. Fajarindo Anugerah Sukses Sejati, Serdang Intersection, Coco H. M. Yamin gas station, the Health Service, Regional Post Office 1, Indosat Office, Indola Mobil, Al-Hidayah School, and Padang Street Intersection and the number of passengers in Corridor V were 2,155 passengers within a month. This study also analyzed the location determination of bus stop when the government had a limited budget for bus stop construction.

Abstract

CV. Cipta Jaya is a company in the manufacture and assembly of aluminum casseroles located at Tembung Main Street No. 11 in Medan was founded by Mr. Daiman on May 23, 1998, with its dominant production of aluminum casseroles. The condition of employees at work was lacking enthusiasm and not focusing on the production process. The very modest use of machines and tools led to the nonoptimal production process. In addition, product sales on CV Cipta Jaya had decreased due to a lack of promotion in the mass media. This caused productivity in CV. Cipta Jaya was less effective and efficient so it needed to improve the production line. The purposes of this study were to determine the effective strategy for increasing productivity based on the company's conditions and the level of company profitability. The method used was The American Productivity Center (APC model). The results showed that the productivity level of CV. Cipta Jaya during the measurement period decreased. It was seen from all inputs as a whole in period 1 of -39.176 and period 3 of -39.176. The level of inconstant profitability fluctuates based on the above calculation; a decrease in productivity was followed by a decrease in profitability. It was proven in period 1 which fell by -17.1% and period 2 by 59.5%. Then, it increased in period 1 of energy input by 0.920 and capital by -1.205. The price improvement index increases every year, namely, period 1 by 1.0% and period 2 by 1.03%.

Abstract

CV. Hamparan Sawit Makmur is a company engaged in the palm oil processing business which produces crude palm oil and kernels. The conditions that occur in the company show that in implementing the company's production cost budget, there are still detrimental deviations between the budget and the actual production costs. This research aims to determine the factors that cause high deviations between production cost budgets and cost realization, and analyze the influence of production cost budgets on effectiveness in controlling production costs and determining more accurate cost of production using the Activity Based Costing method ( A B C). It is hoped that this research can provide input for company management regarding the role of the budget as a tool for monitoring the company's operational performance as well as the role of the cost of production on company profits. From the results of the research carried out, the calculation of the cost of production using the ABC method is more accurate than the traditional method used by the company, using the ABC method the value obtained is IDR 4,696.5/Kg, while the traditional method used by the company is IDR 6,226. 04,-/Kg. So the difference value obtained is Rp. 1,529.54,-/Kg.

Abstract

Satisfaction is a person's feeling of pleasure or disappointment after comparing the performance (results) of the product thought to the expected performance (work performance). If the performance is under expectations, it means the customer is not satisfied; vice versa, it will cause the patient to lose interest in seeking treatment. To find out the priority level in improving the quality of clinical patient services, it used the Potential Gain in Customer Value (PGCV) method. Then, to identify dimensions of service quality, it used the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The data collected in this study were by conducting surveys, distributing questionnaires, and interviewing. The result of the servqual score was negative, with the largest gap score in the attribute (Responsiveness 1)-Affordable inspection fees, and the attribute (Emphaty3)-Nurse was always there when the patient called or needed with a score of -1.73333. The attribute Responsiveness 1 (Affordable examination fee) with the largest PGCV index score of 10.9333. The second priority that had to be improved with the PGCV index score was 10.69445. The attribute Rb3 (Take action according to the procedure) was the third-highest priority that had to be improved with a PGCV index score of 10.166667.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the level of consumer satisfaction with the services of Regional General Hospital and to find out what attributes were the main priorities in improving service quality to improve service quality in Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital, by distributing closed questionnaires and calculating using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method and the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) methods. From the calculation results of the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method, it had a conformity level value of 60.653% and in the Cartesian Chart of the 20 attributes, 8 attributes required repairing and improvement, namely attributes number 2, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 18 and 20. The calculation results of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method of Dr.Pirngadi Regional General Hospital Medan gained a score of 39.03% indicating that the customers of Dr.Pirngadi Regional General Hospital Medan who had felt "unsatisfied", so it could be said that the performance of Dr.Pirngadi Regional General Hospital Medan should be more improve the quality of service, especially on attributes which service values were less than satisfactory and could maintain or improve attributes that were very important and very satisfying to increase satisfaction with the services of Dr.Pirngadi Regional General Hospital Medan.

Abstract

Eric Agustian Sihombing 198150102, redesigning the layout of tofu facilities to minimize material handling costs using the blocplan algorithm. And guided by Mr. Sutrisno, ST., MT as Advisor 1 lecturer, Mr. Yudi Daeng Polewangi, ST., MT as Supervisor 2. Material transfer or material handling is an activity that is very important in production activities and has a close relationship with industrial facility layout planning. Therefore, material handling distances must be minimized by adjusting the layout of existing production facilities or departments. Pak Ponimin's small tofu industry is a business unit engaged in food production, especially tofu and its preparations. In the design process, the small tofu industry, Mr. Ponimin, did not consider factory efficiency, both in terms of the smooth movement of material movement and the placement of work stations, so obstacles were found in the form of high material handling costs due to the long distances for material handling. The purpose of this research is to redesign the layout of the tofu factory so as to produce a proposed layout with lower material handling costs. This research uses the blockplan algorithm method, the blockplan algorithm is a heuristic algorithm that uses both quantitative and qualitative data. This algorithm can be used to design the layout of facilities that are construction or improvement in nature. Where the algorithm can solve single story and story layout problems. Layout redesign begins with data collection in the form of department names, number of departments, broad needs of departments, and the degree of proximity that is poured into the activity relationship chart (ARC). Based on the Blocplan calculation analysis, 20 alternative proposed layouts were produced. The proposed layout chosen is the layout with the highest R–score, namely 0.93. Application of the proposed layout will reduce material handling costs from Rp. 16,713,840, - to x Rp. 10,939,920,- per month. The percentage of material handling cost savings is 15.8% per month

Abstract

Technological advancements in the globalization era have significantly influenced various sectors, including education. The University of Medan Area (UMA) library leverages technology to provide academic information services through its website. This study evaluates the usability of UMA's library website using Nielsen's Attributes of Usability (NAU), which include learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using validity, reliability tests, and non-parametric statistical methods. The results show a significant correlation between usability dimensions and user satisfaction. Learnability, efficiency, errors, and satisfaction exhibit strong correlations, while memorability demonstrates a moderate correlation. Recommendations focus on improving navigation, organizing content structure, enhancing mobile responsiveness, and integrating social media. These efforts aim to improve accessibility, user engagement, and comfort. The study provides essential insights for developing UMA's library website into a more user-friendly platform that effectively supports students’ and lecturers’ academic success.
