Space organization harmony depended on awareness of air circulation lighting, appropriate esthetics and security. A house is not only give the protection in just physical, but also psychological protection, like peacefulness, security, and bliss (quality of live). Interior device claimed as according to life style and improve the quality of live. Good design is not only simply form problem and color, but also function deputizing requirement of social owner needs. For that, interior design do not only consider the system construction and technological, but also sensitivity of substance problem (materials) influencing ecological life quality. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Keharmonisan tata ruang tergantung dari kesadaran akan sirkulasi udara, pencahayaan, keamanan dan estetika yang sesuai. Sebuah rumah tidak hanya memberikan perlindungan secara fisik saja , namun juga perlindungan psikologi, seperti kedamaian, keamanan, dan kebahagiaan (kualitas hidup). Rancangan interior dituntut sesuai dengan gaya hidup dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup. Rancangan yang baik tidak sekedar masalah bentuk dan warna, tetapi juga fungsi yang mewakili kebutuhan sosial pemilik. Untuk itu desain interior tidak hanya mempertimbangkan sistem konstruksi dan teknologi, tetapi juga kepekaan masalah pembahanan (material) yang mempengaruhi kualitas hidup yang ekologis. Kata kunci : kualitas kehidupan, kebutuhan sosial, material ekologis.

Hunian merupakan salah satu kebutuhan primer tiap manusia, di mana manusia melakukan banyak aktivitas di dalamnya. Dewasa ini dengan bertambahnya populasi manusia yang terus menerus dengan lahan yang semakin sedikit menimbulkan alternatif hunian bertingkat yaitu apartemen. Apartemen merupakan hunian yang memiliki lahan kecil sehingga tidak semua aktivitas dapat dilakukan di dalamnya. Sehingga small office home office yang merupakan gabungan fungsi kantor dan rumah menjadi solusi baik untuk fenomena ini. Perancangan Omahub sebagai solusi yang berkonsep menjadikan suatu apartmen menjadi pusat (hub) area profesional muda untuk melakukan segala kegiatannya baik sebagai rumah dan workspace dalam sehari-hari.

The improvement of the development of information communication technology seen through the presence of various technological features provides people with various eases of communication and choices to work anywhere and anytime. The development of information communication technology has become a phenomenon that can change the way people work and the presence of a geo-office, an office that can be geographically located anywhere, has to be considered. This is the essence of the development of information communication technology. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Kemajuan perkembangan teknologi komunikasi informasi dengan kehadiran berbagai fitur-fitur teknologi memberikan berbagai kemudahan berkomunikasi dan pilihan-pilihan untuk bekerja di mana saja dan kapan saja. Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi informasi menjadi sebuah fenomena yang mengubah cara bekerja dan kehadiran geo-office, kantor yang secara geografis bisa berada di mana-mana perlu dipertimbangkan, ini adalah esensi kemajuan teknologi komunikasi informasi. ARSITEKTUR-INTERIOR KERATON SUMENEP SEBAGAI WUJUD KOMUNIKASI DAN AKULTURASI BUDAYA MADURA, CINA DAN BELANDA Murwandani, Nunuk Giari

Acculturation is an interactive and continuous process that develops within and through the communication of an immigrant having a foreign social and cultural environment. One form of communication in acculturation can be seen through the remains and artefacts in the form of artworks or architecture in a region. Keraton Sumenep, a royal building complex, is one of those historical remains in Madura. Kraton Sumenep was designed by the Chinese architect Lauw Pia Ngo. It was constructed during the Dutch colonial rule. Thus, this object of heritage was influenced by Javanese Hindu, Islam, Chinese and Dutch cultures. The appearance and finishes of the building evidently show the presence of these cultures. The pendopo (traditional Javanese over-head construction) of Kraton possesses a Javanese style of construction. It has a Limasan Sinom roof and the flipped-shaped roof top that appears like a dragon?s head shows Chinese influence. Meanwhile, the top level form in its interior that is naked and without a covered passageway, shaped like a chimney at its top are evidences of Dutch and Chinese influences. Javanese, Islam and Chinese ornamentation are composed in an interesting way. Thus, the architectural form of Kraton Sumenep shows the that acculturation of Madura, China and Dutch culture had taken place. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Proses akulturasi adalah suatu proses interaktif dan berkesinambungan yang berkembang dalam dan melalui komunikasi seorang imigran dengan lingkungan sosio-budaya yang baru. Salah satu bentuk adanya komunikasi dalam sebuah akulturasi budaya dapat dilihat pada hasil peninggalan berupa artefak-¬artefak, baik berupa karya seni rupa maupun arsitektur yang ada di suatu daerah, Keraton Sumenep merupakan salah satu peninggalan bangunan di Madura. Kraton Sumenep dirancang oleh arsitek Lauw Pia Ngo dari Negeri Cina, dibangun pada masa pemerintahan kolonial Belanda, dengan demikian maka warisan budaya itu tidak luput dari pengaruh budaya Jawa Hindu, Islam, Cina dan Belanda. Kesemuanya itu tampak pada penampilan dan penyelesaian bangunan-bangunan tersebut. Pendopo Kraton ternyata memiliki bentuk bangunan Jawa. Pendopo dengan atap Limasan Sinom dan bubungannya dihiasi dengan bentuk mencuat seperti kepala naga, merupakan pengaruh Cina. Sedangkan bangunan dalem terdapat bentuk gunung (top level) yang telanjang tanpa teritis dan diselesaikan dengan bentuk mirip cerobong asap di puncaknya, merupakan bukti pengaruh Belanda dan Cina. Pada ragam hiasnya juga nampak beberapa pola Jawa, Islam dan Cina yang dipadu cukup menarik. Bentuk arsitektur Kraton Sumenep, menunjukkan wujud adanya akulturasi antara budaya Madura, Cina dan Belanda. Kata kunci: interior, Kraton Sumenep, akulturasi, budaya Madura

A Chapel is a small church where Catholics worship God. The quiet, silent and comfortable atmosphere for worshiping depends on the acoustic quality of the room that can support worshiping activities such as praying, singing and listening to the priestâ€™s sermon. An interior designer has an important role in creating an atmosphere suitable for worship in the chapel. The criterion of a good and suitable acoustic system in a chapel is influenced by shape of the lay out, the absorbsing materials used and the acoustic tools. An Acoustic parameter determines the quality of acoustics used in order to avoid disturbances caused by poor acoustic systems. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Kapel merupakan tempat beribadah untuk umat katolik. Untuk menciptakan suasana ibadah yang hening, syahdu dan nyaman tergantung atas kualitas akustik ruang sehingga umat dapat berdoa, memuji Tuhan dan mendengarkan firman dari pastor dengan khidmat. Perancang interior berperan dalam menciptakan suasana khidmat dalam kapel. Kriteria akustik yang baik dalam suatu kapel dipengaruhi bentuk denah, bahan penyerapan yang digunakan dan alat akustik yang baik. Parameter akustik menentukan kualitas akustik yang digunakan agar tidak mengakibatkan kecacatan akustik yang mengganggu lingkungan sekitar. Kata kunci: Sistem Akustik, Interior, Kapel

Sasana Sewaka is a pendhapa (an open pavilion) in Kraton (Palace) Kasunanan Surakarta Solo which grew and developed from Javanese architectural values under the influence of European architectural encounters. The meeting of Javanese and European Architectures has a potential to influence the existing architecture. A form of architecture will describe the visual language (composition) through a comprehendible visualization according to its appearance and thus the forming result of architecture can give a meaning that can be communicated.

Designing chairs in the 20Â th century was marked by the efforts to reduce dependency on nature while accelerating issues of the environment and also motivating people to explore their creativity wider. As an implementation of the above aims, several chairs were designed with attempts to explore new values, one of which was material exploration. These attempts include the emergence of new values on many kind of experiments such as the finishing, processing, structure, ergonomics, and which are eventually directed to the final chair form. This research uses the qualitative method of approach with emphasis on the aesthetic meaning and logic of the experimental chair. The aims include identifying the principles of designing experimental chairs through several analyses such as the analysis of experiments that had been done and the analysis of form and function. The research was also undertaken using the methods of description and comparison to analyze the aesthetic values of experimental chairs. Results revealed that the forms produced on experimental chairs were more to be impacted by the process of production elements like materials, color, structure, manufacturing, and finishing that eventually establishes new forms that are more unique and unusual than conventional chairs. The new forms seen on experimental chairs reflect more of contemporary and postmodern values. Contemporary values are represented by the visual uniqueness that relates to contemporary aesthetics while postmodern values were showed by the concept of universality inside it. It is hoped that the conclusions of this paper would determine the direction and orientation of experimental chair design so that it becomes a stimulus chair of deeper chair design development in the future

City growth will eventually affect its people lifestyle. Higher buildings, which serve higher economic value, will need to be supported with open area for social interaction. The three principal of sustainable design is not only to embrace the economic growth, but also to consider social interaction and ecology in it. Since the colonial era Balconies and jalousies are well known as architectural elements that provide more space for interaction, economically possible to make use of, and provide shading for the space underneath. This research will investigate how these elements efficiency will affect the introduction of daylight into interior space to save energy. This quantitative research was conducted with IES-VE 2012 software with embedded suncast, Flucs-DL, and Radiance software in it to calculate the depth of daylight penetration and glare potential. The simulation was set in tropical country (Singapore).

Many exertions to valuing the "space" have yielded many interpretations which ecidence variety of the value of the "space". The results from the purposing and the understanding to the "space" accommodate all the things that can be done to the "space" in visually, physically, pshycologically, and behavior. Regardless all of differences, the same thing they have is the creative force process, included both of the real or abstract, no dimentioned or dimentioned. These things are close related with creator, idea, and appreciator. Thus these things are close related with the discussion of expression, invention, and appreciation. And then there is the same conclusion in valuing and understanding that "space" is a media, because all that things have done in, at, to, on, inside the "space". Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Berbagai usaha untuk memaknai "ruang" telah melahirkan berbagai penafsiran yang membuktikan kayanya makna "ruang". Hasil-hasil pemaknaan dan pemahaman akan "ruang" mengakomodasikan juga hal-hal berkaitan dengan apa yang bisa dilakukan terhadap "ruang" baik secara visual, fisikal, psikologikal, dan perilaku. Terlepas dari berbagai penafsiran yang pernah ada, persamaan yang dimiliki adalah adanya proses penciptaan, baik konkrit maupun abstrak, nonmatra maupun bermatra. Hal ini berkaitan erat dengan pencipta, hasil cipta, dan penikmat cipta. Dengan demikian tidak akan lepas juga dari pembahasan tentang ekspresi, karya, dan apresiasi. Sehingga akan diperoleh pemaknaan dan pemahaman bersama bahwa "ruang" adalah media, karena hal-hal tersebut dilakukan di, pada, terhadap, atas, dalam "ruang".
