Abstract

Interdisciplinary studies demand an understanding of multiple disciplines across disciplines. In the social sciences discipline, the results of sociology research are growing rapidly and have formulated new theories that can be utilized in interdisciplinary studies. Among these is the theory of social conflict. The perspective of social conflict departs from the assumption that inequality exists in all societies. Social conflict theory focuses on various aspects of power status in social positions. Individual identification characteristics are viewed from ethnic or ethnic perspectives, gender, age, religion, expertise, and social status. This social conflict theory can be applied as a perspective in interdisciplinary Islamic studies, this is due to the aim of Islamic studies is to describe the relationship between Islam and various aspects of human life, explaining the spirit (ethos) of Islam in the form of moral and values within Islamic teaching. Thus, approaching Islam through the lens of social conflict theory within Islamic studies got it relevance as Islamic teaching responses to various new paradigms as a result of advances in science and technology and the emergence of new philosophies and ideologies as well as the relationship between Islam and the vision, mission, and goals of Islamic teachings.

This research undertakes an ethnographic exploration of the intricate impact of historical trauma on individuals hailing from Timor-Leste, specifically those who underwent forced migration during the tumultuous events surrounding the 1999 referendum. By centering on the life trajectories of Timor-Leste's former residents across multiple generations, the study delves into the complex interplay of trauma, economic challenges, the role of catholic church and the dynamic role played by digital technology in the lives of those who sought refuge in Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia as the coping mechanisms adopted by these individuals as they navigate the profound traumas arising from the conflict. Additionally, the study aims to examine their resilience in the face of adversities, particularly during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, it seeks to unravel the intricate ways in which digital technology, encompassing smartphones and social media platforms, has become an influential factor in shaping their intricate life trajectories. Through a nuanced exploration of these elements, the research endeavours to contribute valuable insights into the multifaceted dimensions of the post-traumatic experiences of this community and the evolving role of technology in their coping mechanisms and adaptation strategies.

Abstract

Apart from being a medium for entertainment simulation, video games also provide a representation of the social world. Game industry developers always carry out research to provide socio-cultural, historical and philosophical system content to enrich the content in the game. The story background in video games aims to provide experiences and impressions for the players. This research aims to qualitatively explore forms of religious representation that are simulated in open world video games. So players can play role characters in the game to experience spirituality and religiosity. Either through latent and manifest narratives or through moral choices in the context of developing the storyline and Player character in the Game. This research uses Emile Durkehim's sociological perspective of religion regarding Karl Marx's totemism and commodity fetishism to observe the incarnation of the gaming industry as an altar of worship for its players, as well as Jean Baudrillard's postmodernist perspective with his simulacrum concept to analyze the form of simulation and representation of religious symbols that appear in the game. these open world games... This research finds that the use of simulations and the distribution of representations of religious signs or symbols in games forms a religion simulacrum or a blurring of spiritual boundaries between the pseudo and the real. Video games build the Player's construction of religiosity and spirituality virtually in a simulated world that contains ritual practices, ethics, morality, cosmology, metaphysics, and theology.

Abstract

The fast-paced development of technology has made it a necessity in society. Without exception, social media, especially for Generation Z always depends on a variety of social media. This development extends to the religious world, namely making some social media as contemporary da'wah media. In the period of time, the shift of da'wah in electronic media occurred in the 2000s, namely through radio, television, and other media. This research uses the netnography method, which looks at the consumptive culture based on cyberspace or online. In this research search, a variety of social media are popular among Generation Z, such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The content of Instagram @halimahalaydrus, for example, can be seen as the account only presents religious sentences and images that relate to today's society. This also happens in TikTok, bringing up pieces of videos about contemporary da'wah such as that performed by Gus Iqdam in account @Gus Iqdam Official. Some of these views show da'wah in a contemporary way by utilizing popular social media.

Abstract

Stunting on the news is a major problem in Indonesia. Aceh is in fifth place in 2022, with the prevalence of stunting in Banda Aceh at 25.1%. Rumoh Gizi Gampong is a national program aimed at reducing the number of stunts. The program has been launched since November 2020 in Gampong Jawa. The aim of this research is to know how to empower the Rumoh Gizi Gampong program against the efforts to reduce the stunting number in Gampong Jawa. Methods used in conducting this research are qualitative research methods with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research show that the empowerment of the Gampong Jawa Rumoh Gizi Program in reducing the stunting rate in has not been fully performed. It's because the enforcement factor doesn't work as it should. On the community-centric aspect, it is evident that the empowerment implemented emphasizes the knowledge of human resources as a major factor in the decline in stunting numbers. The socialization aspect doesn't work out to the maximum because the parents don't have much time to participate. Besides, the knowledge given at the time of socialization to society is often repeated. On the empowering aspect, parents have acquired knowledge for the decline in stunting numbers in children. But in terms of sustainability, this is invisible. There are many factors that influence the decline in stunting numbers, namely social, economic, and environmental aspects.
