The background of this study is based on the increasing trend of online shopping and the dominance of social media as a digital marketing channel. This study aims to analyze the influence of price perception, video marketing content, emotional motives, rational motives, and halal awareness on the purchasing decisions of Gen Z Muslims in Malang City through the TikTok Shop application. The focus of this study is Gen Z Muslim customers who frequently use TikTok Shop. The results show that only emotional motives from the five variables tested have a significant influence on their purchasing decisions; price perception, video marketing content, rational motives, and knowledge about halal have no influence. Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of interest-based Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) on the income and quality of life of MSMEs in Yogyakarta from an Islamic economic perspective. Using a quantitative approach with survey techniques, data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using linear regression. Findings indicate that while KUR provides easier capital access, interest burdens reduce income, business sustainability, and MSME quality of life. From an Islamic perspective, interest-based systems are non-compliant due to riba elements. This study recommends Sharia-based financing schemes for more sustainable MSME support.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic financial literacy, trust, Islamic branding, service quality, and income on people's decisions to use Islamic banking services in Indonesia. With the rapid growth of the Islamic financial industry, a profound understanding of Islamic financial literacy is essential to attract a broader market share, particularly among the Muslim community. This research employs a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents who utilize Islamic banking services. The data are analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (PLS-SEM) approach via SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that Islamic financial literacy, trust, Islamic branding, and service quality have a positive and significant effect on the decision to use Islamic banking services. These findings support the Theory of Planned Behavior, emphasizing the importance of attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in decision-making. Conversely, income does not have a significant impact, suggesting that psychological and religious factors more dominantly influence consumers' decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of macroeconomic variables on zakat revenue in Indonesia for the period 2020-2024. The independent variables studied include inflation, money supply (MS), industrial production index (IPI), and BI Rate as factors that potentially affect zakat revenue in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) analysis method. The data used in this study is time series data for the 2020-2024 period. The results of the analysis show that the inflation variable has no significant effect on zakat revenue in either the short or long term. Conversely, the JUB variable has a significant negative effect and the IPI has a significant positive effect on zakat revenue, both in the short and long term. Meanwhile, the BI Rate does not show a significant effect. This study provides several important implications for policymakers and zakat administrators to be more sensitive to macroeconomic conditions in an effort to improve the stability and optimization of zakat revenue in Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of sharia mutual funds fluctuated from 2018 to 2024. This was influenced by various factors such as macroeconomics, the market capitalization of the Indonesian sharia stock index, and the outstanding value of sukuk. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of inflation, BI 7 Day Repo Rate (BI7DRR), exchange rates, money supply (M2), the market capitalization of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), and the outstanding value of sukuk on the net asset value (NAV) of sharia mutual funds in Indonesia in the short and long term for the period 2018-2024. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) analysis method using Eview 12 software. In the short term, inflation, exchange rates, and ISSI have a significant negative effect on the NAV of Islamic mutual funds. Then, the amount of money in circulation (M2) and the outstanding value of sukuk have a significant positive effect in the short and long term on the NAV of sharia mutual funds. Furthermore, BI7DRR has no effect on the NAV of sharia mutual funds. These results are expected to serve as additional reference for investors, investment managers, companies, and the government in assessing the extent to which these variables affect the NAV and in developing strategies to address them.

Abstract

This study analyzes the efficiency and productivity of Indonesian Islamic banks from 2018 to 2023 using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Malmquist Index. Results show fluctuations in operational efficiency and productivity growth, influenced by external factors like the COVID-19 pandemic and technological progress. Despite increasing total assets, some years experienced efficiency declines, indicating internal management challenges. Technological innovation significantly boosts productivity, but internal inefficiencies persist post-pandemic. The study recommends adopting advanced technology, digital transformation, and continuous efficiency evaluation to enhance competitiveness. Strengthening regulation for risk management and innovation is also essential. Limitations include reliance on secondary financial data, focus on specific financial metrics, and a relatively short observation period, which restrict comprehensive long-term trend analysis amid external uncertainties.

Abstract

The Islamic banking industry in Indonesia has experienced significant growth in recent years, both in terms of the number of institutions and total assets managed. However, its contribution to the national banking market share remains relatively low. One of the main challenges faced is how to maintain optimal and sustainable profitability levels. Profitability is a crucial indicator reflecting the efficiency of performance and the effectiveness of asset management in generating profits. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the profitability of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia for the 2018-2023 period. The results of this study indicate that of the four independent variables, only one variable has a significant effect on the dependent variable, namely the OE/OI variable, with a negative direction. Meanwhile, the NPF, FDR, and CAR variables do not affect the profitability of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. These results are expected to provide strategic contributions in managerial decision-making, policy formulation by regulators, and the development of academic literature in the field of Islamic finance, especially in understanding the factors that influence the performance and sustainability of Islamic banking in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the impact of perceived value and perceived usefulness on the intention to purchase halal-labeled food products, as well as how cultural and religious factors influence the purchase intention of halal-labeled food products among Muslim residents in Sukabumi City. The study employs a quantitative approach using the cluster sampling method, in which the Muslim population in Sukabumi City is divided into seven sub-districts as regional clusters. A total of 275 respondents were selected and measured using a structured questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to examine the relationships among latent variables. The findings indicate that perceived value and perceived usefulness have a significant influence on purchase intention, while cultural collectivism and individualism show varying contributions depending on their vertical and horizontal dimensions. Religiosity was found to play an important role as a moderating variable, either strengthening or weakening the influence of culture and perceptions on purchase intention. This study provides valuable insights into the interaction between individual values, social norms, and religious beliefs in shaping halal consumption decisions.
