Abstract

Abstract: The Trunojoyo rebellion (1674-1680) aimed to overthrow Amangkurat I from his throne. This study seeks to answer the formulation of the problem, namely; (1) How was the beginning of the Raden Trunojoyo Rebellion in 1674-1680?, (2) How was the involvement of the Dutch in the Raden Trunojoyo rebellion in 1674-1680?, (3) How was the anti-Dutch attitude and religious spirit carried out by Raden Trunojoyo's troops during the rebellion take place?. The research uses historical research methods with historical narrative approaches and socio-political movement approaches, as well as Challenge and Response theory by Arnold Joseph Toynbee. The results of the research are; (1) The beginning of the rebellion was caused by Amangkurat I often collaborating with the VOC which led to influencing the Mataram government system, he often carried out unjust actions and was not as capable as Sultan Agung and brought suffering to the people. (2) The involvement of the VOC in the rebellion was since Amangkurat I asked for help from the VOC and then participated in the battle until the Mataram and VOC troops succeeded in defeating Raden Trunojoyo's troops, (3) The anti-Dutch attitude and religious spirit manifested itself in the spirit of fighting against the VOC in the name of religion. Abstract

Abstract: Sultan Agung is the third king of the Mataram Kingdom who has brought Mataram to the peak of its glory. One of his successes was to expand his territory in various regions in Java, one of which was in East Java through the politics of expansion. This study aims (1) determine the condition of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom under the reign of Sultan Agung (2) explain the expansion politics carried out by Sultan Agung in the eastern region of Java, (3) analyze the strategy of Sultan Agung in carrying out the expansion policy in the eastern region of Java. This research uses qualitative research methods by collecting data sources through literature study. The results are (1) The leadership of Sultan Agung has brought Mataram to rapidly develop into the largest kingdom in Java and the archipelago in 1614-1645. This proves that Sultan Agung brought Mataram to excel in several fields such as politics, territorial expansion, economy, and religion (2) Beginning in 1614, Sultan Agung launched his first military attack on eastern Java as a political target for his expansion. Then in 1615-1625, Sultan Agung succeeded in conquering East Java areas such as Wirasaba, Siwalan and Lasem, Pasuruan, Tuban, and Surabaya (3) The expansion strategy to East Java was to understand the road, understand the seasons and weather, control the terrain, give command , and disciplined on the rules of the war leader. Abstract

Abstract: The community of Jajar Village, Talun District, Blitar Regency, East Java Province is a plural society that then develops itself as a multicultural society through the nyadran ritual. This study seeks to examine the role of nyadran in shaping the concept of multiculturalism in the inter-religious life of the Jajar community and the existence of these rituals in the lives of their people. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data collection through the process of observation, interviews, and literature review. Koentjoroningrat's religious concepts and autonomous multicultural theory were used to assist the analysis. The results of this study indicate that the nyadran ritual carried out by the Jajar people as a request for ancestral blessing, a mandatory tradition carried out by two religious groups (Islam and Hinduism), with mutually agreed terms, as well as a form of development of the concept of animism and worship of parwatarajadewa. The nyadran ritual in Jajar Village is also a subject as well as an object in realizing the life of an autonomous multicultural society. Keywords: Ki Sungkem, Nyadran, religious people

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to find out (1) the history of the establishment of the Jami' Tegalsari Jetis Mosque, Ponorogo Regency (2) the Social Function of the Jami' Tegalsari Jetis Mosque, Ponorogo Regency (3) The Architecture of the Jami' Tegalsari Jetis Mosque, Ponorogo Regency. This study uses a historical approach and a cultural approach by Koentjaraningrat, which states that architectural works are one of the most concrete forms of culture. The historical approach is used to describe the history and development of the Tegalsari Ponorogo Jami Mosque. There are two theories used to facilitate this research, namely, the theory of Continuity and Change and the functional theory. The meaning analysis is used in research to reveal and describe symbols and symbols that act as language in architecture. While the method used in this study is the historical method with heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiographical stages. The results of the data analysis can be concluded that (1) the Tegalsari Ponorogo Jami Mosque was founded in 1724 AD by Kyai Ageng Muhammad Besari. This mosque has undergone various developments in terms of buildings which are seen regularly from 1978 until now. (2) Historically the Tegalsari Ponorogo Jami Mosque has had a social function for people's lives as one of the efforts to prosper the mosque. (3) In the architecture of the Tegalsari Ponorogo Jami Mosque there are meanings and cultural elements that accompany the beauty of the mosque building. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine (1) the origin of Surabaya and its development in the 16th century AD to the 17th century AD, (2) the biography of Prince Lanang Dangiran, (3) the contribution of Prince Lanang Dangiran in the process of Islamization in Surabaya. This study uses historical research methods, which consist of heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography. The approach used in this research is the historical approach proposed by Hasan Usman and the sociological approach proposed by Weber, while the theory uses the role theory according to Soerjono Soekanto. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that: (1) during the reign of the Majapahit Kingdom, Surabaya was the main port of the Majapahit Kingdom due to its strategic location in the Brantas River delta, (2) Prince Lanang Dangiran at the age of 18 meditated by throwing himself into the sea. Then left and settled in Surabaya in 1595 AD, then died in 1638 AD, (3) Prince Lanang Dangiran was a figure who had an important role in the spread of Islam in Surabaya, more precisely in North Surabaya. Abstract

Abstract: This article examined the role of K.H. Ahmad Rifa'i in his preaching in Gedangan Village, Gedangan Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency, 1965 - 2002. The data were compiled using historical research methods, namely heuristics (data collection), verification (criticism of data), interpretation (interpretation), and historiography (history writing). By using the role theory this study concluded that (1) K.H. Rifa'i was born in the village of Diwek Jombang from the couple Kyai Mahali and Nyai Hj. Khanna, he was born in 1912 AD (2) The condition of the Gedangan community at that time still showed the influence of communists and abangans so that some people still carried out religious rituals such as placing offerings in certain places (3) The role of the Kyai Rifa in broadcasting Islam in Gedangan is being able to change the habits of the Gedangan people who were initially dominated by communist groups and Abangan Muslims into societies that behave according to the guidance in Islam. Abstract

Abstract: The third ruler of the Mataram Kingdom who led Mataram to its pinnacle of splendor was Sultan Agung. His use of politics to expand his territory over several Javanese provinces, including East Java, was one of his achievements. This study aims to: (1) ascertain the state of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom during Sultan Agung's rule. (2) Describe the expansion politics that Sultan Agung pursued in the eastern part of Java; (3) Examine Sultan Agung's approach to implementing the expansion policy in the eastern part of Java. A literature review gathers data sources for this study using qualitative research methodologies. The outcomes are as follows: (1) Sultan Agung's leadership has enabled Mataram to grow quickly to become the biggest empire in the Javanese archipelago between 1614 and 1645. This demonstrates how Sultan Agung elevated Mataram to the top in several domains, including politics, economics, religion, and territorial expansion (2) As a political pretext for his conquest, Sultan Agung began his first military campaign against eastern Java in 1614. Afterwards, between 1615 and 1625, Sultan Agung was able to subjugate regions of East Java, including Wirasaba, Siwalan and Lasem, Pasuruan, Tuban, and Surabaya. (3) Understanding the road, the weather and seasons, controlling the terrain, granting orders, and maintaining discipline by the war leader's standards were all part of the expansion strategy to East Java.
