Abstract

Recommendation systems have become a crucial component in various digital applications to help users find relevant products or services based on their preferences. In the context of tourism and hospitality, recommendation systems facilitate users in selecting hotels that suit their needs and preferences. An effective approach to building a recommendation system is by using Content Based Filtering techniques. This research aims to develop a hotel recommendation model that can address the cold start problem, a situation where the recommendation system struggles to provide accurate suggestions to new users or for new items that do not yet have many interactions. By using text-mining methods, hotel descriptions and amenities are extracted into important features, which are then used by measurement methods to calculate similarity scores between features to generate relevant and accurate recommendations for users. Two similarity score measurement methods compared in this study are Cosine Similarity and RBF Kernel. The similarity score measurement were conducted using 20 hotels, where each hotel selected 10 recommended hotels with the highest similarity scores. The results showed that the RBF Kernel method outperformed with an accuracy percentage of 99.8279 %. Meanwhile, the Cosine Similarity method had a slightly lower accuracy percentage of 99,8187 %.

Abstract

In this study, we propose an automated system for identifying grape varieties (red and green) using color-based image segmentation and texture analysis. The system employs K-Means Clustering for color segmentation in the Lab* color space, followed by Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) texture feature extraction to differentiate grape types. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieved an accuracy of over 90% in identifying grape varieties, demonstrating its potential for industrial applications in fruit processing. Our findings indicate that the system is robust under various lighting conditions and can significantly reduce human error in grape sorting processes. Abstract

Business Intelligence (BI) has become part of an institution's strategy in formulating, deciding and implementing policies. Of course this is because Business Intelligence (BI) makes it easier to analyze existing data, including in universities such as UHAMKA. This research aims to apply Business Intelligence (BI) using Tableau in visualizing new student data of Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA) in 2023. This research methodology includes several main stages, data collection from UHAMKA's academic information system, data preparation through cleaning and transformation, using Tableau to create interactive visualizations, and analysis of visualization results. The results show that the use of Tableau is able to produce informative and easy-to-understand visualizations, which help in identifying study program preferences, enrollment trends, and demographic profiles of new students. The distribution of new students shows that the S1 Psychology, S1 PGSD, and S1 Management study programs are the top choices, while the D3 Accounting study program has a very low number of applicants. This research concludes that the implementation of BI using Tableau provides significant benefits in the management and analysis of academic data, supports better decision-making, and improves operational efficiency and effectiveness at UHAMKA.

Abstract

KONI Kendal district has been informing about sports activities using offline media and online media in the form of Instagram. The more the agenda for sports activities increases, the more information is conveyed and this creates complexity in conveying information. For this reason, a website was developed that can combine document, photo and video formats and can be integrated with other social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Telegram. Implementation of User Interface and User Experience in website development to meet user needs. This research designed a UI/UX prototype for the KONI district website. Kendal with the design thinking method. The design thinking method is a problem solving method that focuses on users with five stages that must be gone through, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. The results of this research are a prototype of the Kendal district KONI website, then tested using the usability scale (SUS) system. It is hoped that the results can improve communication by providing information related to sports to the community.

Abstract

The demand for affordable yet comfortable boarding houses for students and employees has increased rapidly. However, the perception that a good boarding house is one that is affordable with luxurious facilities presents a challenge. Likewise, for boarding house owners, even though they have listed their boarding house on Google Maps to reach potential tenants, it would be better to include detailed boarding house information. Therefore, the development of this web-based application aims to provide easy access to information for boarding house tenants.The application development method begins with conducting research through direct interviews with owners to identify the necessary features. This application design adapts a dynamic user interface to provide convenience across various devices. The aim of this development is to create a website application that can facilitate room rental activities at Kost Puri Adiwijoyo, which is expected to overcome several system constraints, such as booking and recording tenant information that is not yet managed in real-time. The result of this research is a website application that can be accessed through any device. Through this application, tenants can view detailed boarding house information and make online bookings, while owners can add or modify boarding house information and view tenant information in an integrated manner. The final result is that the development of the website application can be an effective solution in providing information and rental services for boarding house rooms. This application offers benefits by providing easily accessible detailed boarding house information, accessible through devices via a browser.

Abstract

This research focuses on implementing an Odoo-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for the procurement and production processes of UMKM Dapurbeta using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. In today’s competitive business environment, particularly in the food and beverage sector, SMEs must adopt technology that enhances operational efficiency. The ERP system integrates data and information into a centralized platform, tailored through a fit gap analysis to meet the specific needs of UMKM Dapurbeta. The implementation includes the purchase and production modules, following three RAD stages: requirement planning, system design, and implementation. Results indicate that the Odoo-based ERP system effectively documents and controls procurement and production, optimizes raw material management, and reduces costs. Integration and blackbox testing confirm that the system meets all specified requirements. This ERP implementation significantly improves the speed and accuracy of operations, enhances inventory control, and boosts the competitiveness of UMKM Dapurbeta. It also integrates previously isolated business processes, making them more structured and efficient. The integration with WhatsApp automates communication with vendors by generating and sending RFQs and POs, further streamlining operations. Additionally, the raw material forecasting feature helps determine optimal stock levels, mitigating risks of overstocking or understocking. In conclusion, the ERP system enables UMKM Dapurbeta to better manage costs, raw material usage, and operational standards, ensuring sustained competitiveness in a highly competitive market.

Abstract

In this study, the researchers developed a Digital Logbook application using PHP with a MySQL database to capture operational data at SSC ICT PT Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit III Plaju. This application is expected to enhance the company's ability to achieve its goals and mission more effectively. The digital logbook, also known as an electronic notebook, is based on software that collects, stores, and organizes key data in a digital format. It is used to capture and store various types of information, such as operational records, incident reports, and current activities, as well as to document monthly reports.The methodology employed in the development of this website integrates Persuasive Design with a qualitative approach, starting with the formulation of needs analysis and using the Waterfall method to develop the system prototype. This approach ensures that employees at SSC ICT PT Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit III Plaju have a clear understanding of the system being developed. Additionally, it encourages staff to consistently use the system once it has been completed and tested. Persuasive Design is a practical design discipline focused on influencing human behavior through the characteristics of a product or service.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) has introduced new security challenges, as IoT devices are increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated cyberattacks. This study proposes a hybrid ensemble model combining classical machine learning algorithms (Random Forest, Gradient Boosting) with deep learning (Multi-Layer Perceptron) to improve the detection of malicious activities in IoT networks. The model leverages the RT-IoT2022 dataset, which includes diverse attack patterns such as DDoS, Brute-Force SSH, and Nmap scanning. The integration of these models using a Voting Classifier achieves superior performance by exploiting the strengths of each individual model. Evaluation results demonstrate that the hybrid model outperforms its individual components, achieving an accuracy of 99.80%, precision of 99.80%, recall of 99.80%, and F1-score of 99.80%. The proposed system demonstrates strong generalization across both frequent and rare attack types, making it well-suited for real-world IoT environments where high accuracy and low false-positive rates are critical. This study contributes to the development of robust and scalable intrusion detection systems that can adapt to evolving threats in real-time

Abstract

E-commerce businesses face the challenge of retaining customers in the era of rapid digital expansion. Customer churn prediction becomes essential for strategic decision-making by offering insights into potential revenue loss and customer loyalty. One of the problem in customer churn prediction comes from the presence of outliers in the data. This research delves into seeing the effects on churn prediction f1-score by incorporating a combination of techniques including outlier detection via k-means clustering and DBSCAN, as well as employing XGBoost and Catboost as classifiers. Results indicate that using Catboost gives a better performance of 96% F1-Score for e-commerce customer churn dataset with outliers, and removing outliers does not result in an increase in performance

Abstract

This website-based inorganic waste marketing application has the potential to make a positive contribution to more sustainable waste management, by facilitating more efficient waste collection and sales practices. Apart from that, this application also has the potential to increase environmental awareness among the public. This research aims to design and develop a website-based marketing application for Inorganic Waste using the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) Development Method. This application was built as a solution to facilitate more efficient and sustainable waste management. The SDLC method is used as a framework in developing this application, which includes the stages of planning, needs analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance. The results obtained through system testing using the black box method are that the system can run the home window menu, trash buying feature, trash selling feature, transaction feature, point exchange feature, trash list feature, order feature, offer feature, and report feature. This system is a practical solution for MSME business actors who process inorganic waste.
