Abstract

Terasi or Belacan is a cooking spice made from fermented rebon fish or shrimp, shaped like dough or paste and black-brown in color, sometimes adding coloring ingredients to make it reddish. Belacan is an important cooking spice in Southeast Asia and Southern China. In essence, Belacan is the result of the preservation process of fish or shrimp which is prepared with a mixture of other ingredients so that it can be used as an additional ingredient in several typical dishes.The grinding process using the traditional method in Teluk Pulai Village, Pasir Limau Kapas District, Rokan Hilir Regency, did not get satisfactory results because apart from the results being less than optimal, it also took a long time and still used human power to grind. With the increasing development of science and technology, it has an impact and influence by continuing to increase the need for various tools to make work easier and smoother in various fields, both as complements and as main products. So this becomes a reference for the author to design a dry shrimp grinding machine which will later be able to produce shrimp seasoning which will be the raw material for Belacan. It is hoped that this shrimp grinding machine can help Belacan producers in the Belacan planning process, so that producers can save time and increase their Belacan production results.

Abstract

The Life Skill Training in Culinary Arts, Creativity, and Aesthetics in Plating Mie Celor as a Traditional Regional Culinary aims to develop participants' life skills through culinary education that not only covers cooking techniques but also emphasizes creativity and aesthetics in food presentation. Mie Celor, a traditional dish from Palembang, is chosen for this training due to its rich flavor and cultural significance. This training is designed to enhance participants' ability to prepare and present Mie Celor in an appealing way that aligns with modern culinary aesthetics. The methods used in this training include demonstrations, hands-on practice, and discussions on the importance of good plating in attracting consumer interest. The results of the training show an improvement in participants' skills in preparing Mie Celor, both in terms of taste and appearance, which in turn increases their awareness of the aesthetic value in culinary arts. This training is also expected to have a positive impact on the development of the local culinary sector and introduce Mie Celor to a broader market.

Abstract

This study examines the challenges and effective strategies in the law-making process in Indonesia to produce clear, consistent, and easily understandable regulations. The legislative process in Indonesia often faces various issues such as a lack of harmonization between regulations, limited public participation, and political influence in the formulation of laws. This research also compares the law-making practices in Indonesia with countries that have higher rule of law indexes, such as Denmark, Finland, and Singapore. The study found that wider public involvement, transparency in the legislative process, and comprehensive regulatory impact assessments can improve the quality of laws in Indonesia. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening public consultations, conducting more thorough impact assessments, and enhancing the capacity of law drafters as key measures to improve legislative quality in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal surface roughness level of a Series 6 aluminum workpiece profile by using different spindle speeds and feed rates on a CNC lathe machine. This research used a eksperimental method, which aims to determine conditions and obtain more valid data froms research. The research instrument used a surface roughness tester with a total of 27 test samples. Based on the data obtained from lab tests, the surface roughness results from varying spindle speeds and feeding rates show that at a spindle speed of 1,450 RPM, the lowest roughness achieved at a feeding rate of 0.12 mm/min is 0.90 µm. At a spindle speed of 1,650 RPM, the lowest roughness achieved at the same feeding rate is 0.86 µm. Meanwhile, at a spindle speed of 1,850 RPM, the lowest roughness achieved at a feeding rate of 0.12 mm/min is 0.85 µm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of tool variation and radius on ST 32 material on the surface roughness outcomes of turning on a CNC XTRA 420 machine. The results can be summarized as follows: the best tool variation in terms of roughness was the DNMG tool with a roughness value of 1.46 µm, radius variation of 0.4 with a roughness value of 1.62 µm. The research uses an experimental method which can be interpreted as the most complete quantitative research approach, in the sense that it fulfills all the requirements for testing cause and effect relationships. Data analysis from the effect of tool variation with radii of 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 on surface roughness outcomes was conducted using the Mann-Whitney test, which yielded a significance value of 0.050.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the to identify the lowest surface roughness value achieved through these variations. The research instrument used a surface roughness tester with a total of 27 test samples. The research method employed was quantitative descriptive. The results of this study concluded that: The best surface roughness result at a cutting speed of 75 mm/min achieved an average surface roughness value of 0.09 µm. The best outcome at a cutting depth of 0.1 mm achieved an average surface roughness value of 0.11 µm. The optimal surface roughness result at a cutting speed of 75 mm/min combined with a cutting depth of 0.1 mm yielded a surface roughness of 0.06 µm. This is due to the fact that lower variations in cutting speed and depth result in finer surface roughness.

Abstract

This article discusses the transformational-generative theory developed by Noam Chomsky and its application in Arabic language learning. This theory explains how humans have an innate ability to acquire language through the Language Acquisition Device (LAD). Language structure consists of two parts: deep structure and surface structure, which are connected through transformational rules. This study aims to integrate the transformational-generative theory into Arabic language learning, taking into account the unique characteristics of Arabic, such as the i'rab system, verbal sentences (jumlah fi'liyah), and nominal sentences (jumlah ismiyah). This theory aids in generating an unlimited number of sentences through a creative process. Although the theory has the advantage of separating linguistic knowledge from speaking skills, its drawback lies in neglecting clauses and assuming that language is an innate ability that requires minimal practice.

Abstract

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury is one of the most common injuries, particularly among athletes, often requiring ACL reconstruction surgery to restore optimal knee function. Postoperative ACL rehabilitation necessitates a comprehensive physiotherapy approach to prevent complications such as pain, edema, reduced range of motion (ROM), and to improve muscle strength and joint stability. Various physiotherapy modalities have been widely used during rehabilitation, but further evaluation of their effectiveness is still required. This study aims to evaluate the physiotherapy management of patients following ACL reconstruction, focusing on therapeutic modalities used to reduce pain, improve ROM, strengthen muscles, and prevent complications, as well as to assess the outcomes of various physiotherapy interventions. This literature review gathers data from five articles published between 2020 and 2024, which discuss various physiotherapy interventions for patients post-ACL reconstruction. These articles include the use of ultrasound, electrotherapy (TENS), patellar mobilization, eccentric quadriceps exercise, and manual therapy. The data collected covers results such as pain reduction, ROM improvement, edema reduction, and muscle strength enhancement. The findings of this review indicate that ultrasound therapy and eccentric quadriceps exercises are effective in reducing pain and improving tendon flexibility, while patellar mobilization and electrotherapy (TENS) are shown to be effective in reducing edema and improving knee ROM. Additionally, muscle strength and dynamic balance also improved with structured strengthening exercises. The comprehensive application of these therapeutic modalities accelerates recovery in patients after ACL reconstruction surgery, although some patients may still require additional time to reach full athletic capacity

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce liquid volume and bioetanol content of the pyrolysis process. The results of this study are in the form of test results from pyrolysis. The test results at 70 ℃ produced a pyrolysis liquid volume of 726.6 ml, at 80 ℃ produced a pyrolysis liquid volume of 886.6 ml. At 90 ℃ produces a liquid volume of 1,190 ml. While at 70 ℃ produces bioetanol content with a percentage of 30.3 %, 80 ℃ produces bioetanol content with a percentage of 47 %, 90 ℃ produces bioetanol content with a percentage of 21.3 %. Both research results can be seen in the results of the Kruskal Wallis test which states the same sig value of 0.025 <0.05.

Abstract

Philosophy of science plays a crucial role in providing a conceptual foundation for knowledge development, particularly by studying ontology, epistemology, and axiology. This study aims to explore how the philosophy of science contributes to the advancement of knowledge, including its role in establishing ethical and moral frameworks to address technological and social challenges. Using descriptive analysis based on a literature review, this research reveals that the philosophy of science functions as a theoretical framework and a critical control tool for applying science in society. The findings emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary integration and the development of new paradigms to address global challenges. With its holistic approach, the philosophy of science is shown to guide the evolution of knowledge to remain relevant, ethical, and positively impactful for civilization.
