Abstract

Elderly people are those who have reached the age of 60 years and experience many declines, one of which is functional decline. The prevalence of hypertension increases annually due to various factors, one of which is influenced by unhealthy diets. According to the Indonesian Health Survey in 2023, the prevalence of hypertension was 30.8%. The highest prevalence of hypertension in West Sumatra was in Padang City, at 35.6%. Lubuk Buaya Community Health Center was determined as one of the health centers with the highest hypertension rate in Padang City, at 12,171 people. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between dietary patterns and the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at Lubuk Buaya Community Health Center, Padang City in 2025. This research is a quantitative study using an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 485 elderly individuals who visited the Lubuk Buaya Public Health Center. A total of 86 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and blood pressure measurements, and then analyzed using the Chi-square test. The research results indicate that more than half of the respondents, 72 (83.7%), elderly individuals at the Lubuk Buaya Health Center in Padang City, experience grade 2 hypertension, and more than half of the respondents, 51 (59.3%), elderly individuals have poor eating habits. There is a significant relationship between eating habits and the incidence of hypertension in the elderly, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This suggests that elderly individuals with unhealthy eating patterns tend to have a higher risk of experiencing hypertension compared to those with healthy eating patterns It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between dietary patterns and the incidence of hypertension among the elderly. Therefore, health education and promotion regarding the importance of a healthy and balanced diet are necessary to prevent and control hypertension in older adults.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2020, the incidence of emesis gravidarum reached 12.5% of all pregnancies worldwide. Indonesia accounts for 50-59% of the incidence of nausea and vomiting experienced by pregnant women. Acupressure at Pericardium Point 6 is effective in reducing nausea and vomiting. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of acupressure at Pericardium Point 6 (P6) on emesis gravidarum in first-trimester pregnant women in the Belimbing Padang Community Health Center work area in 2025. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest and posttest design. The study was conducted from March to August 2025 in the Belimbing Padang Community Health Center work area. The population was all 64 first-trimester pregnant women who visited the Belimbing Padang Community Health Center in March 2025. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected using a 24-hour PUQE questionnaire and observation sheets. Univariate and bivariate analyses were used using the T-test. The results showed that the average emesis gravidarum score before and after acupressure at pericardium point 6 (P6) was 11.56, and after 6.06 in pregnant women in the first trimester. There was an influence of acupressure at pericardium point 6 (P6) on emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester in the Belimbing Padang Community Health Center working area in 2025. The conclusion of this study is that acupressure at pericardium point 6 (P6) can reduce the frequency of emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester. It is hoped that midwives in obstetrics rooms can implement acupressure at pericardium point 6 (P6) as an alternative therapy to help reduce or manage emesis gravidarum.

Abstract

Nurse performance is a key indicator of hospital service quality. Poor performance can be attributed to an unsupportive work environment and low organizational commitment. This study aimed to examine the relationship between work environment and organizational commitment with nurses’ performance in the inpatient Ward of RSI Siti Rahmah Padang. A quantitative analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from March to August 2025. The population comprised 80 nurses working in the inpatient ward, with 44 nurses selected as the sample using simple random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires between June 30 and July 7, 2025. Univariate and bivariate analyses were performed using the Chi-Square test. The findings revealed that 38.6% of respondents had poor nurse performance, 36.4% perceived a poor work environment, and 34.1% had poor organizational commitment. There was a statistically significant relationship between work environment and nurse performance (p< 0.001), and between organizational commitment and nurse performance (p< 0,002). Work environment and organizational commitment are significantly associated with nurse performance. It is recommended that hospital management provide rewards, support continuing education, and foster strong organizational commitment to promote a comfortable and safe working environment.

Abstract

Drug storage is a critical component of pharmaceutical services, directly affecting drug quality, stability, and safety before use by patients. Based on Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 73 of 2016 concerning Pharmaceutical Service Standards in Pharmacies, drug storage must apply alphabetical and dosage-form arrangement, First In First Out (FIFO) and First Expired First Out (FEFO) methods, and proper management of high-risk medicines. This study aimed to evaluate the compliance of the drug storage system at Y Pharmacy, Pekalongan, with the Pharmaceutical Service Standards, and to assess the implementation of FIFO, FEFO, and storage facilities. A descriptive observational method with a qualitative approach was used. Data were collected through checklist-based observation, interviews with the responsible pharmacist and pharmaceutical technical staff, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively using Guttman scale percentage calculations. The results showed that storage facilities achieved 100% compliance, while the drug storage system reached 88.23%, categorized as good. The only non-compliance found was the lack of separation and labeling of Look-Alike Sound-Alike (LASA) and High-Alert medicines. Overall, the storage system at Y Pharmacy has met the applicable standards, although risk-management aspects still require improvement to minimize the potential for medication errors.
