Abstract

The development of a digital lifestyle influences students’ financial management behavior. This study aims to understand how students plan and manage their personal finances in the digital era. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through semi-structured interviews involving five active students from the University of Bengkulu selected using purposive sampling. The findings indicate that students generally have an initial awareness of financial planning, such as budgeting their allowances and saving money; however, these practices are not consistently implemented and lack structured financial records. Furthermore, the ease of digital financial services enhances transaction efficiency while simultaneously increasing consumptive behavior, particularly due to promotions and paylater features. The main challenges include limited income and low control over spending. This study concludes that students’ financial stability is determined by the balance between financial literacy, financial planning, and consumption control.

Abstract

This research report presents a comprehensive plan for the development of a family entertainment center designed through the lens of playful architecture in the city of Medan, North Sumatra. Titled “Funtastic Bound To Bond”, this project was conceived in response to the growing need for inclusive, safe, and educational recreational spaces amidst increasing urban density and the scarcity of adequate public open spaces in the Mebidang metropolitan area (Medan, Binjai Deli Serdang). By integrating three main conceptual pillars—Playful Connectivity with Local Memory, Intergenerational Bonding Space, and Experiential Multi-Level Recrea-Mall—this design aims to transform historical urban movement patterns into spatial explorations that foster intergenerational interaction. The theoretical foundation of this research is rooted in environmental psychology and family psychology, which specifically examine how behavioral settings and cognitive mapping can influence visitors’ moods and emotional well-being. The research methodology includes a systematic literature review, technical site analysis at Namo Simpur, user behavior observations, as well as international case studies such as LEGO House and Lotte World to ensure competitive quality standards. The design proposal suggests a layered recreational complex encompassing interactive play zones, thematic learning spaces, a public plaza, and an integrated commercial center supported by sustainable design strategies such as passive ventilation and natural lighting. This study concludes that a playful approach is not merely an aesthetic choice but a crucial architectural strategy for strengthening family bonds and urban identity in Medan.

Abstract

Catering businesses are one type of enterprise that require an accurate and efficient system for managing sales and financial data. Vin’s Kitchen, as a local catering business, still performs manual recording and processing of sales data, which may lead to calculation errors, delays in report preparation, and difficulties in financial data analysis. This study aims to design and analyze a catering sales data processing system based on Microsoft Excel by utilizing the SUMIFS and VLOOKUP functions. The research method used is applied research with a descriptive and case study approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, documentation, observation, and literature study. The results show that the system is able to improve time efficiency by approximately approximately 80% and reduce the error rate by approximately approximately 85%. The SUMIFS function enhances the speed and accuracy of data calculations, while the VLOOKUP function improves data retrieval speed and consistency, making the data processing more effective and integrated. The proposed system can accelerate the preparation of sales reports, minimize recording errors, and facilitate financial data analysis. This study is expected to provide a practical solution for small and medium-scale catering businesses and can be further developed into a larger-scale system.

Abstract

Urban youth increasingly face mental health challenges due to academic pressure, sedentary lifestyles, limited access to safe public spaces, and the psychological impacts of dense urban environments. Conventional approaches to youth mental health, which are largely clinical or institutional, often fail to address preventive and environmental dimensions of well-being. In response, this paper examines the potential role of biophilic architecture as a non-clinical and preventive strategy to support youth mental health in urban contexts, particularly within sport and youth centers. This study employs a qualitative literature-based approach, synthesizing psychological theories, empirical studies, and architectural research related to biophilic design, adolescent mental health, and the built environment. The findings indicate that biophilic design elements such as natural lighting, ventilation, green and blue elements, spatial openness, and sensory-friendly environments are associated with stress reduction, improved mood, enhanced emotional regulation, and increased place attachment among adolescents. Sport and youth centers, when designed with biophilic principles, can function not only as physical activity hubs but also as restorative social infrastructures that support mental well-being. The paper identifies a research gap in youth-specific, urban-based studies that integrate biophilic design with real architectural typologies. By positioning biophilic architecture as a preventive mental health strategy, this study contributes to architectural discourse and youth studies, emphasizing the importance of everyday environments in fostering psychological resilience among urban youth, particularly in developing city contexts.

Abstract

In the early period of Islam, uṣūl al-fiqh did not exist as a formally codified discipline, as the Companions and the Successors possessed strong linguistic competence and direct proximity to the sources of revelation, enabling them to intuitively comprehend principles of legal inference (istinbāṭ). However, with the expansion of the Islamic world, the gradual decline in Arabic linguistic proficiency, and the increasing complexity of ḥadīth transmission, the codification of uṣūl al-fiqh methodology became inevitable. This study aims to critically analyze the historical development of uṣūl al-fiqh methodology from the formative period to the emergence of three major methodological trends, namely Ṭarīqat al-Mutakallimīn, Ṭarīqat al-Fuqahā’, and Ṭarīqat al-Mutaʾakhkhirīn, as well as to examine the implications of these methodological differences for Islamic legal formulation. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach with a historical-normative orientation, this research relies on library-based analysis of primary and secondary uṣūl al-fiqh sources, utilizing comparative and content analysis methods. The findings indicate that differing epistemological orientations among these methodological trends significantly influence approaches to textual evidence, hierarchies of legal reasoning, and interpretations of fundamental legal concepts such as ṣiḥḥah (validity), ijzā’ (sufficiency), and qaḍā’ (make-up obligation). This study affirms that uṣūl al-fiqh is not merely an abstract theoretical construct but a dynamic methodological framework that sustains the continuity and relevance of Islamic law in response to changing historical contexts.

Abstract

Disputes over joint property in the form of an outstanding mortgage often give rise to legal complexities at the intersection of family law and security law. This study aims to analyze the legal status and mechanisms for the division of mortgage properties following divorce, as well as the legal implications regarding the bank’s position as a preferred creditor. The research method employed is normative legal analysis using a statutory approach and a review of judicial decisions. The results of the study indicate that the mortgage property constitutes joint property encompassing both assets and liabilities, where its division cannot be separated from the remaining debt and the attached security rights. Based on SEMA No. 3 of 2018, a claim regarding joint property involving an asset still under mortgage without involving the bank will be declared “Not Acceptable” (Niet Ontvankelijk Verklaard). In conclusion, judges must apply the “Net Value” approach in adjudicating cases to ensure justice for former spouses without infringing upon the bank’s right of preference. Synchronization through subjective novation or the bank’s involvement as a Co-Defendant is an absolute requirement to ensure the judgment is enforceable and does not pose a risk of non-performing loans.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of substance use disorders (SUD) in Indonesia is not matched by adequate rehabilitation facilities, highlighting the need for more effective and holistic approaches. This study proposes an integrated design strategy for a drug rehabilitation center by combining therapeutic architecture with occupational therapy (OT) to support recovery and social reintegration. Using a qualitative design-based research approach, the study translates behavioral characteristics of users and rehabilitation processes into spatial and architectural strategies. Therapeutic architecture principles such as natural lighting, ventilation, and connection to nature are applied to enhance emotional stability and reduce stress [11][2]. Occupational therapy is implemented through structured activity-based programming to rebuild daily routines and meaningful occupations [1][9]. A key contribution of this study is the integration of hospitality-based programs and mangrove-based activities as forms of real-world occupational engagement. These programs enable users to develop vocational skills, social interaction, and adaptive behaviors within a controlled yet realistic environment. The findings demonstrate that architecture can function as an active therapeutic system when integrated with occupation-based programming, facilitating behavioral transformation, reducing relapse risk, and supporting long-term recovery through the integration of spatial design, meaningful activity, and environmental context.

Abstract

Work ethics is a fundamental aspect in supporting the success of educational organizations, as it is not only related to compliance with rules but also reflects moral values, integrity, and the professional responsibility of educators. Although various studies have examined work ethics from different perspectives, studies that comprehensively integrate its determinants, roles, and impacts within educational organizations across different levels remain limited, particularly those employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. This study aims to identify and map the factors influencing work ethics, as well as its impact on performance and organizational culture in educational institutions, using an SLR approach guided by the PRISMA framework. Data were collected from relevant scientific journals and analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify themes, patterns, and relationships among concepts. The findings indicate that work ethics in educational organizations is influenced by internal factors (motivation, personality, and professional ethics) and external factors (organizational culture, work environment, reward systems, and institutional support), which interact to form three main clusters: educator professionalism, learning quality, and student character. Conversely, low work ethics not only reduces the quality of learning and the professional image but also triggers psychological pressure and role conflict among educators. This study contributes to the development of a conceptual framework of work ethics in educational organizations through the integration and mapping of factors from various literature sources. However, this study is limited to a literature review and does not include empirical validation or testing of relationships between variables. Therefore, future research is recommended to adopt an empirical approach in order to obtain more in-depth findings regarding work ethics in educational organizations.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education offers transformative potential, yet EFL learners still face significant hurdles in writing proficiency. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of Google Gemini, a multimodal Large Language Model (LLM), in enhancing students' writing performance and overcoming psychological barriers, such as low motivation. Using a qualitative approach grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Socio-constructivism theory, this research examines how Gemini's real-time feedback functions as a "More Knowledgeable Other" (MKO). The findings demonstrate that Gemini effectively identifies deficiencies in sentence structure and grammar, acting as a vital catalyst for boosting fluency and coherence in EFL compositions. Furthermore, students perceive the tool as highly intuitive, particularly during the initial drafting and planning phases. The study concludes that while Gemini provides essential scaffolding within the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), structured pedagogical supervision is necessary to prevent over-dependency. These results suggest that a synergy between AI support and human guidance is fundamental for sustainable second-language mastery in the digital age.
