Since 2021, the journal is published biannually on May and November. Submissions of the manuscript are open all year long. All papers submitted to the journal should be written in good English. Authors for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to have their paper checked before submission for grammar and clarity. The work should not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

Abstract

This research will examine students'' perspectives on learning public speaking using the YouTube software due to a exchange in mastering styles that at the start used traditional patterns to on-line studying styles because of the covid 19. In previous research, it was found the effectiveness of learning using video in this study, researchers will explore from the students'' point of view.Phenomenological research student''s perspective they feel that learning public speaking using the YouTube application makes it very easy for them or is very effective in learning public speaking.student''s perspective is very effective but the impact of pademic still leaves discomfort in learning but the existence of this application can be an alternative.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to find out the teacher's perception of the success of online learning in English lessons. The results of the interviews with the two subject teachers are presented in the form of a description because the data collected is part of the teacher's experience and the data is obtained from interviews with the teacher being told. The results of research on teacher perceptions of online-based English learning or distance learning. Interview data were taken from two sources, namely the VII grade English teacher and the VIII grade English teacher of private junior high school in Probolinggo, East Java. Every teacher needs to prepare a lesson plan or organize class activities before class begins. The learning process consists of several processes, namely: planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. The main focus of this research is online learning in English subject.

Abstract

The researcher could analyse the student To investigate the students’ needs of practicing English through the need analysis perspective in the context of Vocational High School Investigating students and teacher perception in accounting program toward English targeted needs in one of Indonesian private Vocational High School, and As constructive inputs for curriculum designers to develop English materials for students’ accounting programs suited to their needs. Current study uses qualitative design and assessed student needs. Learn English in a vocational training in Indonesia. All necessary data were first collected by her web-based questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The reason for using descriptive research is that qualitative approaches helps to better understand the research question than using either one (Creswell, 2014) We chose this study because we need to know deeply how the participants perceive the target's needs in the accounting space.

Abstract

This research delves into the exploration of enhancing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students' confidence in speaking through the use of narrative text, specifically employing the movie "Up" within an Indonesian private university context. The primary research problem is framed as "How can students' speaking experience be influenced by the 'Up' movie in narrative text?" The study aims to understand the impact of using "Up" movie on students' speaking abilities in a narrative context. A qualitative research approach was employed for data collection, utilizing interviews as the primary method. The qualitative data analysis involved four key steps: Coding, Data Reduction, Data Presentation or Display, and Drawing Conclusions.

Abstract

Analyzing textbooks is one way that we know the extent to which the quality of the textbooks that we use in the learning system and also have an important role for the teacher and student learning as a reference and to assist student learning. The researcher conducted this study to find out what grammatical cohesion is and analyze it in narrative text based on the education curriculum. The result of this study revealed that the grammatical cohesion in Indonesia EFL has been widely used in most text. Moreover, the finding showed that reiteration appeared to be the most frequent type of all subcategories of grammatical cohesion. There are 309 grammatical cohesion ties in four narrative texts: references 175 times (56,64%), conjunction 63 times (20,39%), ellipses 41 times (13,27%), and substitution 30 times (9,70%). It can be concluded that the narrative texts analyzed in this research contain several grammatical cohesions and those are compatible as language inputs.
