Abstract

The aim of this research was to to analyze the effect of Using YouTube Channel’s media on students’s self confident in speaking at the tenth grade of MA Al Washliyah 67 Pematangsiantar. in the academic year 2021/2022. This research used quantitative approach with true experimental design. The data were obtained by using pretest and posttest. The data of the pretest and post- test of both groups were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics (SPSS 26.0). The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of posttest scores was found that tcount = 7.837> ttable = 1.699 at the significance level a = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (df) = 29. So, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that the Using of YouTube Channel media effect significantly on student self confident in speaking at MA Al Washliyah 67 Pematangsiantar in academic year 2021/2022

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of using skimming and scanning technique and find out which technique is better skimming or scanning on students’ ability in understanding the English reading text of the tenth grade students at MAS Al Washliyah Serbalawan in the academic year 2021/2022. This research used quantitative approach with pre - experimental design. The data were obtained by using post-test only. The data of post-test was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. (SPSS 23.0). The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of post-test scores was found that tcount = 2.668 ˃ ttable = 1.684 at the significance level α=0,05 with the degrees of freedom (df)=39, So, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that the implementation of Scanning and skimming effect on students reading ability at tenth grade of MAS Al Washliyah Serbelawan in academic year 2021/2022

Abstract

The significance of this research are expected to find out whether or not the students’ writing ability of the eight grade students of SMP N 10 Pematangsiantar can be improved through the Summarizing Technique. This research is pre - experimental that using a study group meanwhile collecting data of this research using pre-test and post - test design. There are two variables. Namely independent variable is Summarizing Technique and dependent is students’ writing ability. The population of this research was the students of the eight grade students of SMP N 10 Pematangsiantar which consist the number of students is 256 students. The writer will be doing research in class VIII -1 and VIII - 7 SMP N 10 Pematangsiantar. That students consist of 64 students in it. The instrument used in this research is writing text.The result of the mean score of the students pre-test was 59,43 and after giving the treatment the mean score of the students post - test was 71,59. The comparison between the mean scores in pre - test and post - test showed a difference and increased than before. The result of the t-test value is 15,2 was greater than t - table value 2000 with degree of freedom (df) N-1 (64 - 1). It means the teaching writing can improve the students’ writing ability of the eight grade students of SMP N 10 Pematangsiantar was accepted while null hypothesis (H0) summarizing Technique in teaching writing is able to improve the students’ writing ability of the eight grade students of SMP N 10 Pematangsiantar

Abstract

This research entitled The Effect of Quesstion and Ansmwer Method On Students’ Speaking Ability At SMP Y.P Keluarga Pematangsiantar. It concered with the problem: Does Q & A method affect students’ speaking ability of grade VII SMP Y.P Keluarga Pematangsiantar on the academic year 2021/2022? to answer the research, some theories are used: Andriyani (2015), Ikramuddin in Sukriyanto (2017), Hormalis in Hrahap (2015), Sudjono (2017).The research design was a pre - experimental research. the sample was choosen by simple random sampling. It involved 46 students. The result showed that by using Question and Answer method has improved the students’ speaking ability. The improvement of students achievement are proved from Pre-test and Post - test result. The mean score of post - test (74,17) was higher than score of pre - test (51). The result also showed that standard deviation in pre-test (10,24) while in post - test (12,10). It could be concluded that there was a significant effect of question and answer method on students’ speaking ability at seventh grade of SMP Y.P Keluarga Pematangsiantar in academic year 2021/2022

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out whether the implementation of using English movie effective for improving the students' pronunciation at the eleventh grade of SMA Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematangsiantar in the academic year 2021/2022. This research used quantitative approach with true experimental research design. This research used saturated sampling as a technique to choose the sample and the sample of this research was 60 students. The instruments of this research were pre-test, post-test and recording. The data were taken from score of pre-test and post-test. The technique of collecting data in this research is using an oral test. The data of pre-test and post-test of both groups were analyzed by using SPSS 26.0. The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of post-test scores was found that the mean of post-test experimental class is 72.60 from 30 students with standard deviation 6.240 and standard error mean 1.139. Meanwhile, mean of post-test control class is 68.33 from 30 students with standard deviation 6.825 and standard error mean 1.246. And then, fcount = 6.387 > ftable = 4.01 at significance level α = 0.014 with degrees of freedom (df) = 43, it means that Ha is proven to have a significant effect in improving students' pronunciation. Then, tcount = 3.305 and ttable = 1.699. So, tcount = 3.305 > ttable = 1.699 at the significance level α = 0.05 with degrees of freedom (df) = 29. So, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that, the implementation of using English movie effective for improving the students' pronunciation at the eleventh grade of SMA Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematangsiantar

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to know: 1) The students’ ability in writing Hortatory exposition text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Taman Siswa Pematang siantar in 2021/2022 academic year 2) The difficulties that faced by the students’ in writing Hortatory exposition text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Taman Siswa Pematang siantar in 2021/2022 academic year. This research is used mixed method that is combination of qualitative and quantitative research. This is research was done by using documentation and students text essay hortatory exposition text. The informants of this research are 66 that representative from the eleventh grade students. The data were collected used randomly sampling. Test was made to know the students’ ability in writing Hortatory exposition text and the difficulties that faced by the students’ in writing Hortatory exposition text ability at the eleventh grade, observation was made to know all of the activities or behaviours of the students’ in writing Hortataory exposition text. The highest score 75, the lowest score 38, and the average score in writing Hortatory exposition text 57.33 and it was categorized difficult, it means that students ability in writing Hortatory exposition text are still difficult. The students had difficulty in using content 80%, using organization 73.33%, using vocabulary 73.33%, mastering grammar 93.33%, and using mechanics 20%. It means that the students need to learn more about Hortatory exposition text.while the students difficulties in writing was language features and generic structure of hortatory exposition text consist of thesis and arguments, lack vocabulary and grammar mastery so majority of students was difficult to create the sentences and write correct spelling words, based on the result, the researcher taken a conclusion that the students have not understanding in writing hortatory exposition text

Abstract

This research entitled The Effect of Simon Says Game Method on the Listening Ability for the Eighth Grade Students of MTSS Al-Washliyah Serbelawan. It concered with the problem: Does Simon Says Game Method effect on the listening ability for the eighth grade students of MTSS Al-Washliyah Serbelawan?. To answer the research, some theories are used : (Arikunto, 2014), (Cresswell, 2008), (Nation & Newton, 2009), (Nunan, 2003), (Sudijono, 2017), (Sugiyono, 2013), (Tyagi, 2013) and (Wright, 2006). This research is design into quantitative method by following pre-experimental design of one group pre-test and post-test design. The population is 31 students and the sample is taken by saturated sampling. The instrument is essay test. The data analysis is started from scoring the students’ answer sheets, tabulating students’ pre-test and post-test scores, classifying the students’ listening ability, calculating mean pre-test and post-test, calculating the standard deviation, calculating mean difference and testing hypothesis. Based on the data analysis, it was found that before the treatment od Simon Says Game method, the students’ listening is low since the mean pre-test is 26,45 and low level is dominated. After the treatment, the student’s listening is improved since the mean post-test is 79,03 and good level has been dominated. After analyzing the data, it is calculated that Simon Says Game method effects students’ listening ability for the eighth grade MTSS Al-Washliyah Serbelawan by contributing significant effect value about 52,58. So it is suggested that Simon Says Game effect on the listening ability fot the eighth grade students of MTSS Al -Washliyah Serbelawan in academic year 2021/2022 and should use appropriate method in improving students’ listening ability method

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve students‘ writing ability for Seventh Grade of MTSS AL - WASHLIYAH Serbelawan using Show and Tell (S&T) Technique.This research use Quantitative research.The design of this research is Quasi Experimental Research, with Experimental class and Controlled class. The sample of this research is 56 students of MTSS AL-WASHLIYAH Serbelawan. The researcher found the result of this research that total of pre test score in control class is 1280 with mean score is 45,36 and post test control is 1600 with mean score 57,14. While pre test in experimental class is 1340 with mean score 48,21 and post test experimental 2280 with mean 81,43. Then the researcher found that tcount (34,038) ttable (2,00404) at the significance level α0,05 with the degrees of freedom (df)55, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the data analysis, the researcher conducted as the following result: the population of this research is 109 students where the sample is 56 students. The result of this research of pre test score in control class is 1280 with mean score is 45,36 and post test control 1600 with mean score 57,14. While pre test in experimental class is 1340 with mean score 48,21 and post test experimental 2280 with mean 81,43. Then the researcher found that tcount (34,038) ttable (2,00404) at the significance level α0,05 with the degrees of freedom (df)55, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the influence of the ability in mastering dialogue on students speaking comprehension at SMP SWASTA CINTA RAKYAT 3 PEMATANGSIANTAR in the academic year of 2021/2022. This research was classified as a true-experimental study. It involved 24 students from two groups, as the experimental group (12 students) and as the control group (12 students). The experimental group was students taught using picture sets dialogue where as the control group was students taught using lecture technique. The data were obtained by using pre-test and post-test. The data of the pre-test and post-test of both groups were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistic. (SPSS 22.0). The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of post-test score, it is found that tcount (9,326) > ttable (8,233) at the significance level a = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (df) = 11. H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it means that the influence of the ability in mastering dialogue significantly on students speaking comprehension at SMP SWASTA CINTA RAKYAT 3 PEMATANGSIANTAR academic year of 2021/2022

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the effect of KWL strategy on the reading comprehension of the eight grade students at SMP NEGERI 4 PEMATANGSIANTA in the academic year of 2021/2022. This research was conducted on May 2022. This research was classified as a true-experimental study. It involved 64 students from two groups, class VIII5 (32 students) as the experimental group and VIII6 (32 students) as the control group. The experimental group was students taught using KWL strategy where as the control group was students taught using contial technique . The data were obtained by using pre-test and post-test. The data of the pre-test and post-test of both groups were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistic. (SPSS 22.0). The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of post-test score, it is found that tcount (8.63) > ttable (1.67) at the significance level a = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (df) = 63. H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it means that the KWL strategy effect significantly to improve students’ reading comprehension at the eight grade of SMP Negei 4 Pematangsiantar academic year of 2021/2022.
