Abstract

The Constitution plays a strategic role in the life of the nation and the state because it is the legal basis that regulates the structure of the state, relations between institutions, and the rights and obligations of citizens. This article uses a qualitative approach based on literature studies to explain the values and norms in the Indonesian Constitution, especially in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia). The study results show that the Indonesian constitution functions as a legal apparatus and contains ideological, historical, and sociological values that reflect the nation's personality, such as people's sovereignty, cooperation, deliberation, social justice, and respect for human rights. The process of forming and amending the 1945 Constitution shows the dynamic nature of the constitution that is adaptive to the changing times. The Indonesian Constitution does not fully adhere to the Western-style principle of separation of powers, but develops a model of power distribution based on the nation's culture. The constitutional awareness of the public needs to continue to be strengthened to maintain constitutional values and norms in the state's practice towards national ideals based on Pancasila.

Abstract

This study examines how the application of meaningful learning theory, developed by David Ausubel, can improve students' concept understanding. The theory emphasizes the importance of fitting new information into existing cognitive frameworks, allowing for deeper and longer-lasting understanding. Concepts such as advance organizers, progressive differentiation, knowledge assimilation, and integrative reconciliation are applied to support a more effective learning process. This research uses the literature study method by elaborating on various related sources to gain a thorough understanding of implementing this theory in Indonesia's education context. The results show that applying meaningful learning theory strengthens students' conceptual understanding and encourages the development of critical, creative, and adaptive thinking skills. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to integrate this approach in lesson planning and implementation to make students' learning experiences more relevant, applicable, and meaningful.

Abstract

The development of the digital era has led to a paradigm shift in education, transitioning from traditional methods to more modern approaches. This shift directly impacts the quality of education in Indonesia, aiming to produce superior human resources with strong character and clear future vision. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Nearpod as a learning medium in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) subject at SMPN 26 Makassar. A quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design was used, involving 30 students who were tested before and after the intervention using Nearpod. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with the pretest average score being 67.9 and the posttest average score being 86. The t-test revealed a t-value of 6.411, which was higher than the critical t-value of 1.699, indicating the rejection of the null hypothesis and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. This finding demonstrates that the use of Nearpod effectively improves student learning outcomes in the ICT subject. This research contributes to the development of more engaging, interactive, and digitally-based learning strategies, aligning with the needs of today's digital generation

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of teacher competency and work motivation on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Rindingallo, both individually and simultaneously. A quantitative research design was employed using a questionnaire-based survey. The population of this study consisted of all teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Rindingallo, totaling 30 respondents, and the entire population was used as the research sample. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire measuring teacher competency, work motivation, and teacher performance. Prior to hypothesis testing, the data were confirmed to meet the assumptions of normality, homogeneity, and the absence of multicollinearity and autocorrelation. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis indicate that teacher competency has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (β = 1.144; t = 5.214 > 2.048; p < 0.001). In contrast, work motivation does not have a significant partial effect on teacher performance (β = −0.359; t = −1.670 < 2.048; p = 0.106). However, when examined simultaneously, teacher competency and work motivation have a significant effect on teacher performance, as indicated by the F-test results (F = 17.868 > 3.35; p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that teacher competency plays a dominant role in improving performance, while work motivation contributes meaningfully when combined with competency.

Abstract

This research examines Köhler’s insight learning theory and its implications for modern learning practices. Using a literature review method, relevant books and peer-reviewed journal articles on Gestalt psychology, insight learning, and contemporary education were systematically analyzed. The findings indicate that insight learning emphasizes holistic understanding and cognitive restructuring rather than rote repetition or stimulus–response associations. When applied to modern learning contexts, Köhler’s theory supports the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills by encouraging learners to understand relationships among concepts and actively construct meaning. This study concludes that insight learning theory remains relevant for modern education, particularly in designing student-centered learning environments that foster deep conceptual understanding and adaptive problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Education plays a central role in shaping individuals’ character, critical awareness, and capacity to engage with society. Among educational thinkers, Alexander Sutherland Neill is notable for his advocacy of freedom- and democracy-based education as implemented in Summerhill School. This study aims to examine Neill’s educational philosophy, particularly the principles of learning without coercion, examinations, and punishment, and to analyze its relevance to the concept of Merdeka Belajar in the Indonesian educational context. This research employs a literature review method by analyzing Neill’s primary works and relevant scholarly articles related to democratic education and Merdeka Belajar policies. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis through data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Neill’s emphasis on student autonomy, active participation, and respect for individual development aligns conceptually with the principles of Merdeka Belajar, which prioritize learner-centered, humanistic, and joyful learning. This study contributes theoretically by strengthening the philosophical foundation of Merdeka Belajar through classical democratic education perspectives and practically by offering insights for educators in implementing more emancipatory learning practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine strategies for holistic student development based on their individual characteristics. The method used is literature review with a conceptual-critical approach. The findings reveal that the development of students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains must be grounded in a thorough analysis of age, learning styles, cultural background, socioeconomic status, and special needs. Integration of these three domains is effectively achieved through contextual, differentiated, and inclusive teaching approaches such as Problem-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning. Learning tailored to students’ characteristics has been shown to enhance effectiveness, active participation, and the balance between academic achievement and character formation. This aligns with Islamic educational principles that emphasize the harmony of intellect (‘aql), heart (qalb), and body (jasad). Keywords: affective, cognitive, holistic, psychomotor, student characteristics

Abstract

This study reviews how Digital Twin (DT) a virtual replica dynamically linked to physical systems via real-time data has been applied in education. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted on Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar, covering 2020–2025. Searches were performed on [month year] using a predefined query, followed by deduplication and a two-stage screening (title/abstract and full text). From 79 identified records, 20 studies met the inclusion criteria. The synthesis shows three dominant domains: (1) DT-based immersive and safe training for engineering/TVET (virtual machines and learning factory), (2) smart campus facility management using IoT-driven DT for energy, health, and space optimization, and (3) Digital Twin of the Learner for adaptive learning and early-risk prediction. Across studies, DT is consistently reported to reduce training risk and operational cost while improving authenticity of practice-based learning, although evidence strength varies by context and evaluation design. Key adoption barriers include infrastructure cost, interoperability, and cyber-physical security. DT therefore holds promise for a connected educational ecosystem, provided institutions start with targeted pilots and strengthen data governance and teacher capacity.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' speaking skills through the application of Bugis folklore-based sociodrama learning methods to fourth-grade students of SDN 18 Tumampua 1. The sociodrama method was chosen to provide students with the opportunity to practice speaking directly through dialogue and roles in real situations reconstructed from regional folklore. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design which is implemented in two cycles, which include the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 29 fourth-grade students. Data collection through observation and speaking performance tests. The results of the study showed an increase in students' speaking skills in each cycle, including aspects of fluency, intonation, vocabulary, expression, and courage to speak in front of the class. In addition, the use of Bugis folklore has been shown to increase students' motivation and self-confidence because the learning material is close to their socio-cultural life. Thus, the application of the Bugis folklore-based sociodrama method is effective in improving students' speaking skills.
