Abstract

The development of social media has changed the way skincare consumers search for information and make purchasing decisions, while product innovation can strengthen consumer trust amidst market competition. This study aims to analyze the influence of Social Media Marketing and Product Innovation on Purchase Decision with Consumer Trust as an intervening variable on Glad2Glow skincare users who are students in Semarang City. This study uses a quantitative explanatory approach with 115 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a five-level Likert scale questionnaire based on Social Media Marketing, Product Innovation, Consumer Trust, and Purchase Decision indicators. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), including evaluation of measurement models, structural models, and bootstrapping. The results showed that Social Media Marketing had a significant effect on Purchase Decision (β = 0.286; p = 0.003) and Consumer Trust (β = 0.352; p < 0.001). Consumer Trust has a significant effect on Purchase Decision (β = 0.516; p < 0.001), while Product Innovation has a significant effect on Consumer Trust (β = 0.559; p < 0.001), but does not have a direct effect on Purchase Decision (β = 0.113; p = 0.252). Product Innovation has an indirect effect on Purchase Decision through Consumer Trust (β = 0.288; p < 0.001). The study concluded that Consumer Trust plays an important role in translating product innovation into purchasing decisions

Abstract

Competition among online travel agent (OTA) platforms in Indonesia has intensified, yet Traveloka, despite being the market leader, still faces a low conversion rate from users to actual buyers of around 35.2%, indicating that its online promotion and pricing strategies have not optimally driven consumer purchasing decisions, particularly in Bandung City. This study aims to analyze the effect of online promotion and price perception on consumer purchasing decisions for Traveloka in Bandung City, both partially and simultaneously. The study employed a quantitative explanatory approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 97 respondents collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire, which was then analyzed using multiple linear regression, classical assumption tests, t-test, and F-test with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results show that online promotion has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, whereas price perception has no significant partial effect, apparently due to the strong relationship between the two independent variables. Simultaneously, online promotion and price perception have a significant effect, contributing 83% to purchasing decisions. These findings confirm that online promotion is the most determining factor in driving consumer purchasing decisions for Traveloka in Bandung City, so the company is advised to prioritize the optimization of its digital promotion strategy while maintaining a fair price perception as a supporting factor that strengthens the effectiveness of that promotion.

Abstract

The development of e-commerce has driven changes in people's consumption patterns, including online beauty product purchases, where customer reviews and brand image are two important factors that shape consumer purchasing decisions. This study aims to determine the influence of customer reviews and brand image, both partially and simultaneously, on purchasing decisions for Wardah beauty products on Shopee. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method through a questionnaire to 92 female students of the Business Administration Study Program at the International Women's University. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with t-test and F-test. The results showed that customer reviews (t=3.863; Sig.<0.001) and brand image (t=7.926; Sig.<0.001) each had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, and both simultaneously had a significant effect (F=89.897; Sig.<0.001) with a contribution of 66.9%. Brand image proved to be the most dominant variable. This study concluded that strengthening customer reviews and brand image simultaneously can improve purchasing decisions, with implications for business actors to prioritize brand image strengthening strategies without neglecting customer review management.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive culinary business environment requires women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to develop unique products and attractive packaging to enhance consumer purchasing decisions. This study aims to examine the influence of product uniqueness and packaging on consumer purchasing decisions for Ndaqies products, a women-owned bakery MSME located in Andir District, Bandung City. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The population comprised of consumers who had purchased Ndaqies products, while the sample comprised 96 respondents selected using the Lemeshow formula. Primary data were collected through questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 29. The results indicated that product uniqueness was perceived as very high, packaging as high, and purchasing decisions as very high. The partial hypothesis test (t-test) revealed that both product uniqueness and packaging have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Furthermore, the simultaneous test (F-test) confirmed that product uniqueness and packaging jointly have a significant influence on consumer purchasing decisions. The study concludes that enhancing product uniqueness through continuous innovation and improving attractive, informative packaging can strengthen the competitiveness of women-owned MSMEs and encourage higher consumer purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of PET Can packaging and the perceived shelf-life information of preservative-free products on domestic consumers' purchase intention for Rujak Ambu instant seasoning. Rujak Ambu, a women-empowerment-based MSME, faces challenges in expanding its domestic market due to an overstock of export packaging (PET Cans). This research employs a quantitative method with a survey approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 97 respondents comprising current and potential consumers of Rujak Ambu. Data analysis included classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that: (1) Partially, the physical innovation of PET Can packaging does not have a significant effect on domestic consumers' purchase intention (Sig. 0.232). (2) Partially, the perceived shelf-life information of preservative-free products has a positive and highly significant effect on consumers' purchase intention (Sig. 0.000). (3) Simultaneously, PET Can packaging and the perceived shelf-life information of preservative-free products significantly influence purchase intention with a contribution (R Square) of 65.9%. These findings conclude that for traditional food products like rujak seasoning, premium packaging innovation must be integrated with educational label communication regarding shelf-life transparency and product safety to optimally boost purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Indonesia has entered a phase of aging population, so empowerment programs are needed that can increase the economic independence and welfare of elderly women. This study aims to analyze the strategy of developing an entrepreneurship program as an effort to empower elderly women at the Creative Islamic Boarding School of Pejuang Husnul Khatimah in Bandung City. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Informants were selected purposively, consisting of Islamic boarding school administrators, Muhammadiyah figures, the Head of KMI, academics, the head of the foundation, and male and female students. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman with validity tests through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The results of the study indicate that the development of the entrepreneurship program is directed through mapping the potential of the elderly, skills training, business mentoring, collaboration with various stakeholders, and strengthening marketing based on religious communities. The program also increases motivation, self-confidence, social participation, and community interest in joining Islamic boarding school activities. The conclusion of the study shows that the entrepreneurship strategy based on religious communities has the potential to become a sustainable model for empowering elderly women if supported by integrated organizational governance, partnerships, and business mentoring.

Abstract

The rapid growth of culinary tourism in Lembang has intensified competition among soft cookie producers, making product quality and price competition important factors influencing consumers' purchase decisions. However, previous studies have reported inconsistent findings regarding the influence of these variables, particularly in the context of souvenir food products. This study aims to examine the effects of product quality and price competition on the purchase decisions of female consumers purchasing soft cookies at KPSBU Lembang. This research employed a quantitative approach using descriptive and verification methods. The study was conducted at KPSBU Lembang, West Bandung Regency, involving 52 female consumers selected through purposive sampling from a population of 60 respondents using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires using a four-point Likert scale and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics. The analytical techniques included validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, coefficient of determination (R²), partial (t-test), and simultaneous (F-test). The findings revealed that product quality has a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. Price competition also has a significant positive effect on purchase decisions. Simultaneously, product quality and price competition significantly influence purchase decisions, explaining 58.2% of the variance, while the remaining 41.8% is explained by other factors outside the model. The study concludes that maintaining consistent product quality and implementing competitive pricing strategies are essential to improving consumer purchase decisions and strengthening the competitiveness of soft cookie products in the souvenir food market.
