Abstract

PT Semen Baturaja Tbk. as one of the largest cement industries on the island of Sumatra uses a rotary kiln in its production process. Rotary kiln in the cement industry has an important role because it will determine the quality of the product. Rotary kiln serves as a place to react raw materials to become products. The type of coal used as fuel for the rotary kiln is BA-45 coal. This type of coal was chosen because it has a calorific value of 4,500 kcal/kg. The calculation of SFC in the rotary kiln aims to determine how much fuel is needed in the combustion process in the rotary kiln. This calculation is based on actual data taken from the Central Control Room (CCR) and the Quality Control (QC) laboratory. The average SFC calculation was obtained at 619,658 Kcal/kg. The largest SFC value was on July 22, 2023, which was 676.71 kcal/kg, while the smallest SFC was obtained on July 20, 2023, which was 568.54 kcal/kg. The high and low SFC obtained is influenced by many factors, such as the amount of kiln feed, water content in the feed, and the type of coal used.

Abstract

This study focuses on evaluating the thermal efficiency and exhaust emissions produced by the rotary kiln used in Factory 2 PT. Semen Baturaja Tbk. As a central component in the cement production process, rotary kiln performance has a significant impact on factory operations and the surrounding environment. This study combines direct measurement of exhaust emissions with analysis of kiln operational data to identify achieved levels of thermal efficiency and the impact of exhaust gases on the environment. The results of this study are expected to provide an in-depth view of the rotary kiln performance in terms of thermal efficiency and exhaust emissions. By understanding the factors that affect efficiency and emissions, manufacturers can design appropriate remedial measures to increase thermal efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The positive results of this research can contribute to sustainable practices in the cement industry, by ensuring that the production process is not only energy efficient but also environmentally friendly

Abstract

As is known, cement is one of the most important materials needed in infrastructure development. The main equipment for the cement production process is the rotary kiln which is used as a process of burning, mixing and decomposition of the kiln feed which is a mixture of around limestone (70% - 90%), clay (about 10% -30%) , and the rest (0 – 10%) is correction material in the form of iron sand, and silica sand becomes clinker. Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC) is an indicator to determine the performance of the rotary kiln tool, and as an industrial benchmark to save production costs. This calculation is made based on actual data taken from the Central Control Room (CCR) and Quality Control (QC) Laboratory of From the calculation of the mass balance, energy balance, and SFC value, the results for the lowest SFC value were obtained on July 26, 2023, which was 628.77 kcal/kg while the highest SFC value was obtained on July 29, 2023, which was 724.01 kcal/kg. Concluded the SFC is inversely proportional to the number of kiln feeding. The greater the number of kiln feeding, the smaller the SFC value.

Abstract

This study aims to calculate the specific energy consumption (SEC) in the rotary kiln in the cement production process. This research method involves collecting rotary kiln operational data from cement factories over a certain period. The results show that SEC can vary significantly depending on factors such as feedstock type, equipment thermal efficiency, and operational settings. These factors can contribute to SEC fluctuations which can affect the overall efficiency of the cement production process. Therefore, an in-depth understanding of how these factors interact with each other is essential to optimize energy use in cement production. This study provides insight into how to measure and calculate SEC in the context of rotary kilns in the cement industry. With a better understanding of the main contributors to energy consumption in these processes, cement manufacturers can identify opportunities to reduce SEC through increasing thermal efficiency, selecting more suitable raw materials, and optimizing operational arrangements

Abstract

Clinker is an artificial rock produced from kiln feed or rawmeal through a process that occurs in a rotary kiln with a temperature of around 1450°C. In the heating process in the rotary kiln, physical reactions and chemical reactions occur simultaneously. The methodology used to complete this article consists of several stages including the following: Taking actual condition data from the Central Control Room (CCR) and composition data from the Quality Control (QC) laboratory. From the results of the performance evaluation, the thermal efficiency of the rotary kiln is still classified as good with an average of 74.05% where the good efficiency ranges from 71%-84%. This value indicates that the performance of the rotary kiln is still fairly good when viewed from the actual calculated thermal efficiency. Regular checking, maintenance and repair is an increase in the performance of rotary kiln equipment so that the obstacles experienced can be reduced. he decrease and increase in AFR value is also influenced by the size of the feed flow rate that enters the combustion process.

Abstract

The kiln system is one of the main process systems in terms of production at PT. Semen Baturaja Tbk.  The kiln system consists of 3 units, namely the suspension preheater, rotary kiln and grate cooler.  This process will produce a product in the form of clinker which is the main ingredient in the cement manufacturing stage.  This process requires a large amount of energy so it is necessary to know the energy consumption analysis used so that energy use in production can be utilized as much as possible.  This research was conducted on the kiln system in factory II of PT Semen Baturaja Tbk.  Analysis of heat consumption is carried out by calculating heat efficiency.  The calculation of heat efficiency in the kiln system can be carried out in two stages, namely by calculating the mass and calculating the heat.  From the data in this article it is found that the highest heat efficiency value is 82.90% with an average heat efficiency value of 81.23%.  This shows that the kiln system in factory II of PT Semen Baturaja Tbk.  still feasible to use because of the heat loss tolerance of 12-22%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out information literacy strategies in increasing students' reading interest at SDN 10 RANTAU ALAI SUKANANTI BARU VILLAGE.This research method uses qualitative descriptive approach research because it obtains words, images or behavior and is not expressed in statistical form. And the data used in this study is in the form of an explanation of data from informants orally, documentation and observing the location. In this study, the author focuses on information literacy strategies in increasing students' reading interest at SDN 10 RANTAU ALAI SUKANANTI BARU VILLAGE.  The strategy carried out is the habituation stage, development by reading 10 to 15 minutes before class starts or after class starts and must visit the library. As well as the supporting factor stage, namely teacher support and student motivation and enthusiasm in wanting to read as well as enthusiastic support from parents and adequate book collections and inhibiting factors in increasing interest in reading, there are still students who lack enthusiasm in reading and lacking facilities such as tables and chairs in the library.

Abstract

This research is titled analysis of OPAC utilization as a means of guest return information at UIN Raden Fatah Library Palembang. The purpose is to find out the utilization of OPAC as a means of guest return information at UIN Raden Fatah Library Palembang. Since around 2015, visitors have been utilizing the library's Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). The purpose of this survey is to collect data on the frequency of visitors to UIN Raden Fatah Library in utilizing the library's online public access catalog (OPAC). This test can be considered an emotional intelligence quiz whose final score is most significant. The value of a program is measured by analyzing its cumulative impact. This research shows that OPAC is widely used by library patrons. Patrons can use the OPAC without worrying about overdue fees. Patrons get tremendous help in finding varieties quickly, thus saving the time they spend searching.

Abstract

In today's modern era characterized by increasingly rapid technological development, our need for information is also very important to support various aspects of life. This makes us an inseparable part of the information itself. Libraries according to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 43 of 2007 are institutions that manage collections of written works, printed works, and / or recorded works professionally with a standardized system to meet the educational, research, preservation, information and recreational needs of the users. This research intends to find out more about the classification system used at the Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library Palembang. This research uses qualitative research as the main research methodology. In UPT Perpustakaan Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya Palembang, the data collection methods used were interviews, observations, and literature studies. According to the findings of a study, the classification system at the Palembang Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library uses a digital system with the Electronic-Dewey Decimal Classification (E-DDC) 23rd edition application.

Abstract

This research is entitled Determination of Total Suspended Solids Levels in Coal Mine Acid Water in Lahat Regency Using the Gravimetric Method. The purpose of the study was to determine the determination of total suspended solids content in acidic coal mine water in Lahat Regency using the gravimetric method. The research analysis method is carried out in accordance with SNI 6989.3: 2019 on how to test Total Suspended Solids gravimetrically. The results showed that total suspended solids cause turbidity in water due to undissolved solids and cannot immediately settle, to determine the level of total suspended solids in coal mine acid water, the gravimetric method was used with the results of research at PT.X, PT.Y, and PT.Z not exceeding the quality standards of coal mine acid water where the maximum level is 400 mg/L
