The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. It is published by Yayasan Sembilan Pemuda Indonesia and it will regularly be published three times a year, in April, August, and December.

Abstract

Research with the Research and Development (R&D) Method was carried out to produce products in the form of printed learning textbooks as a complement to printed materials in the methodology course of Class Action Research (CAR) at the State Islamic University (UIN) Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. This study was divided into three stages: 1) defining; 2) planning and development; and 3) dissemination. The research data were analyzed using domain analysis techniques with critical and reflective principles. Findings printed media for learning textbooks for the CAR methodology course have been developed based on a process approach. The book consists of eleven chapters, covering: 1) recall of CAR concepts; 2) research techniques and CAR data collection instruments; 3) observation sheet; 4) interview sheet; 5) test sheet; 6) questionnaire sheet; 7) documentation in CAR; 8) analysis techniques in CAR; 9) dissemination of CAR reports; 10) write articles from the results of the CAR; and 11) writing a book based on the results of the CAR. The purpose of learning with print media is to help students learn the CAR methodology easily and make learning interesting and fun and enable them to study independently. The developed learning print media is claimed to be suitable for use through a feasibility test carried out by material and media experts to practice making CAR proposals or reports to publishing articles and books with ISBN from the CAR results.

Abstract

The purpose of this quantitative study is to investigate the effect of both partial and simultaneous differences in education level and tenure of service on teachers' pedagogical competence. A questionnaire was used to collect data for this study, and SPSS was used to analyze the data statistically. The study's findings suggest that the level of education and years of service have a partial or simultaneous influence on a teacher's pedagogical competence. This study makes recommendations for increasing teachers' educational levels in order to improve their pedagogical competence.

Abstract

The purpose of this ex post facto correlational study is to investigate the impact of leadership effectiveness and interpersonal communication on teacher job satisfaction at SMA Sub Rayon III Prabumulih City. A questionnaire was utilized as the study tool. Inferential statistics, such as the basic linear correlation test, multiple linear regression, t-test, and F-test, were used to assess the data. The findings revealed a substantial relationship between leadership effectiveness and interpersonal communication and teacher job satisfaction at SMA Sub Rayon III Prabumulih. This research assists the principal in establishing effective communication in the school environment in order to achieve teacher job satisfaction.

Abstract

The importance of education quality management in improving the culture of qur'any literacy at Miftahul Ulum Makarti Jaya Islamic School is described in this qualitative research. According to the study's findings, education quality management has a role in producing superior output generation that is inventive, critical, leadership, and creative superior and able to compete well and have more value in religious abilities. Being cultural and literate, as well as critical thinking, are two qualities that can develop outputs that are ready to participate in society.

Abstract

This study is to determine the actions of the Principal Working Group of SD Negeri in Lumpatan Village, Musi Banyuasin Regency related to planning, organization, implementation, and supervision. The descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study. Techniques for gathering data include observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that on the planning dimension, the indicators that are less effective are human resources who do not yet have good managerial performance and competence in supporting the preparation of work plans, on the organizational dimension, the indicators for preparing the Principal Working Groups plan and education and training indicators are not running effectively, on the dimension of implementation, what is to be achieved is not running effectively.

Abstract

The function of principal leadership in the successful delivery of education in schools is critical. It is possible to optimize the work ethic of teachers in their tasks via strong leadership. It is considered that if leadership is carried out successfully and work ethic is ideal, it would be able to support instructors' good performance. As a result, the purpose of this study was to determine the impact of a principal's leadership and a teacher's work ethic on teacher performance. This study was carried out using quantitative research methodologies. According to the findings of this study, the principal's leadership and teacher work ethic had a favorable and substantial impact on the performance of state junior high school teachers, both partially and concurrently.

Abstract

This study described the quality of learning in Public Primary Schools 22 Banyuasin III. The qualitative method was used in the study. Informants were headmaster and teachers. Data were collected using interviews. The results showed that the management of grade teachers in the implementation of the teaching process relevant with the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The obstacles were lack of visual aids.

Abstract

This study aims to review and describe the school based management in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ilir Timur II in Palembang. This is descriptive qualitative research. The subject was teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Riyadhul Janah Palembang. Data in this study was collected by interviews and analyzed using triangulation. The results stated that school based management will take place effectively and efficiently when supported by human resources professional to operate schools, sufficient funds, so schools are able to hire staff in accordance with its function, infrastructure to support the process, parents and community support significantly better in thought and favors a significant contribution.

The purpose of this study is to identify school principals improves the quality of primary schools. The study was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Banyuasin III. The research was qualitative. The subject of the research is teachers in SD Negeri 1 Banyuasin III. Data were collected by interviews and analyzed using triangulation. The result showed that not all teachers can perform the task in full because obstacles covid 19, the solution applied is maximizing available resources.

Abstract

This study identified teacher teaching development as a means of improving the quality of learning at SD Negeri 15 Betung. The school served as the site for this study. This is a qualitative in which data is gathered through interviews, observation, and documentation. According to the results, teacher teaching development as an effort to improve the quality of learning at SD Negeri 15 Betung could be said good the ability of teachers to manage classes in terms of lesson plan and learning implementation; and the ability of the teacher to manage classes in terms of the teacher's activities opening and closing lessons. The teacher's competence handle the class means the teacher's activities in delivering reinforcement.
