Journal of Social Work and Science Education
The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. It is published by Yayasan Sembilan Pemuda Indonesia and it will regularly be published three times a year, in April, August, and December.

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study investigated 1) the impact of the Principal's leadership style on results, 2) the effect of motivating teachers on performance, and 3) the effect of the Principal's leadership style and motivation on performance. This research is based on quantitative approaches. The population used all teachers in SMAN 1 and SMKN 1 Rambutan, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province as samples. Since the research population has only 77 populations and all of them are sampled. Data was analyzed using a simple linear regression formula and multiple linear regression From the results of the study, it can be concluded that (1) the influence of the principal's leadership style on the performance of the SMA-SMK Negeri in the Rambutan Banyuasin district, (2) the influence of the motivation of the teacher on the performance of the SMA-SMK Negeri in the Rambutan Banyuasin district, and (3) the influence of the leadership style of the principal and the motivation of the teacher together.]]>

<![CDATA[This research based article discusses on issues and practices of classroom management from the local perspectives. It is based on the context of public school of Nepal. The participant is an EFL teacher of public school in Kathmandu, teaching in middle school and secondary level there. The classroom management practices in the EFL teacher’s classes are seen using classroom observation tool, in her classes of both the levels for a week using qualitative framework. The findings show the traditional practice still dominating the classroom activities. Therefore the article is based on the issues of classroom management being specific to the seating arrangements, discipline, peer work, group work, space, presentation, and time management in the public school where classroom observation has been done.]]>

<![CDATA[This article was written with the aim of analyzing the behavior of high school students and all of their factors during history learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, so that knowing the history learning behavior of high school students and responses from high school teachers related to student behavior in the history learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic and analyzing how the reinforcement measures carried out by high school teachers towards students and the effect felt during online learning. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study were research articles related to students' historical learning behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic, The sample of research articles is 26 journals consisting of national journals and international journals. The results of this study were 1) forms of student behavior in various history lessons; 2) student behavior is influenced by the creativity ability of teachers and the role of the family, and 3) The history teacher provides reinforcement during the online history learning process to students. The conclusion of this study is to maximize the history learning behavior of high school students during the pandemic has 5 (five) aspects learning and management of teaching in the Covid-19 era, know the benefits of learning history using Google classroom, increasing the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process during the Covid-19 Pandemic, the role of families in accompanying student, and increase student activeness in taking online learning.]]>

<![CDATA[This research verified the link between HIV status and sexual problems in young adults. Based on the results of our study following the administration of the self-assessment questionnaire on sexual problems (male and female), we came to the conclusion that HIV-positive status causes more sexual problems, particularly among young men. Despite the problems of vaginal dryness and painful coitus observed in HIV-positive young women, we can say that HIV-positive young women do not generally have sexual problems that interfere with sexual activity.]]>

<![CDATA[This study determined the effect of the principal's leadership style and teacher’s job satisfaction on teacher performance in public elementary schools in Sekayu District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The research method is ex post facto with a population of 491 teachers The research sample draw using proportional random sampling in order to obtain a sample of 78 respondents. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the t-test and the F-test. The results of this study can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the leadership style of the principal and teacher’s job satisfaction on the performance of elementary school teachers in Sekayu District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. This study provides the new insight for principals to more deeply give attention the leadership style and teacher’s job satisfaction in order to have good teacher’s performance.]]>

<![CDATA[This qualitative study explored the principal's managerial in improving the quality of education in primary school. This research was conducted at SDN 2 Tungkal Ilir, SDN 10 Tungkal Ilir and SDN 18 Tungkal Ilir. The research instruments in this study were interviews. Qualitative data analysis is iterative and continuous effort. Three stages of data analysis were carried out, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study concluded that the principal was able to carry out managerial in improving the quality of education at the State Elementary School in Tungkal Ilir. The way the principal in fostering, directing teachers in the learning process is considered good through the principal's managerial. Besides that, the principal in carrying out managerial tasks has been able to overcome obstacles at school. This paper contribute to more deeply concern on principal’s managerial where we could have good quality of education.]]>

<![CDATA[This study finds out more about the role of principal supervision through the principal functions in improving the professionalism of teachers. The instruments in this study were interview sheet, observation sheet, and documentation study. Data analysis is made after the data and information obtained in accordance with the needs are compiled, classified and formulated on the basis of data interpretation. The results showed that the work program prepared by the principal in fostering teachers has a positive impact on teacher competence. Supervision of the principal is carried out periodically in fostering teachers. This paper contributes to the school in fostering teachers so that they can be more professional in carrying out their duties through supervision carried out by the principal.]]>

<![CDATA[The teacher determines the success of students because of the teacher's strategic position as a guide in learning. In order for a teacher's job to work well, the teacher must be professional in teaching. Professional teachers are believed to be able to make students think, behave and act creatively. This quantitative study aims to measure the effect of professional and social competence of teachers on learning outcomes of elementary school students in the Gelumbang District of Muara Enim Regency, which were analyzed using multiple regression formulas and supported by SPSS For Windows Version 21, data collection techniques including questionnaires, documentation in the form of photographs related to research. The results obtained that the of influence of professional and social competence together contribute to the learning outcomes of elementary school students in Gelumbang District. This paper is different from previous studies, it provides the new paradigm to focus on profesional and social competence where we could have good learning outcomes of student.]]>

<![CDATA[This study determined the supervision of school principals and teacher performance. This research was conducted in 18 Public Elementary Schools in Gelumbang. The research method used in this study was qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collectied using interviews, observation, documentation, questionnaires, and literature review. The results of the study stated that the supervision process was carried out by the principal through several stages, namely 1) planning the supervision activities; 2) implementation of supervision; 3) feedback the results of supervision; 4) follow up on supervision results. Based on the results of the supervision before the follow-up, it was found that more than 50% of the 18 Elementary School teachers in Gelumbang were not yet both categories in preparing the administration of learning devices. After giving feedback and the results of the teacher supervision follow-up assessment conducted by the school principal, 40% of teachers in the excellent category and 60% of teachers in the quite good category, thus the results of the supervision can improve the performance of teachers in SD Negeri 18 Gelumbang. The paper contributes to more give attention of supervision, and the the teacher’s performance will be improved.]]>

<![CDATA[Qualified teachers play a very important role in improving learning process in schools. Teachers who are able to use facilities as learning resources will have a positive impact on student success at school. The more complete facilities in the school, the more motivated students will be in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of facilities and motivation on student learning outcomes at SMA PGRI Gelumbang. The type of research conducted was quantitative which analyze the questionnaire data, which is then analyzed using SPSS For Windows. The results of the study indicate that there is an influence of learning facilities and motivation together either simultaneously or partially on student learning outcomes in high school. This paper contibutes to more focus on facilities and motivation to have quality learning outcomes.]]>
