The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. It is published by Yayasan Sembilan Pemuda Indonesia and it will regularly be published three times a year, in April, August, and December.

Abstract

This study is to outline the Principal's Strategy for Improving Learning Quality at SMPN 1 Banyuasin III Banyuasin Regency. This study employs a qualitative approach. Teachers from SMP Negeri 1 Banyuasin III participated in the study as informants. In this study, data were gathered through interviews, observation, and documentation. The study's findings indicate that the principal's strategy for improving the quality of learning at SMPN 1 Banyuasin III, Banyuasin III Regency is quite good, but there are still several constraints, such as teachers who are not linear with their teaching tasks, low teaching motivation, and limited infrastructure.

Abstract

The school environment is a physical and non-physical situation that occurs within the purview of the school. The school atmosphere is assisting instructors in developing motivation. As a result, the purpose of this study was to prove hypotheses regarding the effect of the school environment and extrinsic motivation on teacher performance. The quantitative descriptive approach was employed in the implementation of this research. The population is 125 persons, with 30 people serving as a trial sample and 95 people serving as the study's main sample. Data was collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation approaches. In this study, data were analyzed using inferential statistics such as simple correlation tests, multiple correlation tests, t-tests, and f-tests Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, Jejawi District. According to the findings of the study, the school environment and extrinsic motivation have an impact on the performance of State Junior High School teachers in Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, both partially and concurrently.

Abstract

This study attempts to describe the teaching quality of teachers in learning in SD Negeri 24 Banyuasin III. The qualitative was used in this study. Informants in research were head of school and teachers. The data collection in this study using interviews. The results suggests that the quality of teachers faced lack of facility system, lack of funds, then it needs strategy to maximize resources which will run the learning well and the achievement of students gained.

Abstract

This study attempts to teacher management class in the implementation of learning process of SD Negeri 10 Banyuasin III in the industrial revolution 4.0. Qualitative was used of this research. Informants were the principals and 10 teachers of SD Negeri 10 Banyuasin III. Data collection technique using a questionnaire. The results suggest that teacher management class in the implementation of the learning process had been considered good and capable on management implementation of the learning process. The obstacles were lack of skill in new technologies.

Abstract

The target and output of this training is to implement the Tridharma of Higher Education, and writing Classroom Action Research (CAR) for teachers at SMA Negeri 1 OKI. The training methods used are 1) lecturing in which the trainer explains to the trainees what and how to write and publish CAR; and 2) evidence-based learning, where training participants are invited to write together and know how to write CAR. The results obtained from this training can make participants (teachers) 1) write the background of the problem; 2) formulate the problem; 3) write a literature review; 4) writing research methodology; 5) write the results of research and discussion; 6) write conclusions, suggestions and bibliography; and 7) writing abstracts and bibliography.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to assess the impact of teacher emotional intelligence and work discipline on teacher performance. A study was carried out utilizing quantitative approaches to discover this. According to the findings of this study, teacher emotional intelligence has a favorable and substantial effect on the performance of public high school teachers in the Mesuji Makmur District. This paper recommend to upgrade teacher emotional intelligence and work discipline where the school wish to have good performance of instructors.

Abstract

This study aimed at determining how does the standard process in English Learning at SMP Harapan Ibu Tanah Mas Banyuasin. This study was a qualitative using study case method. This study was done at SMP Harapan Ibu Tanah Mas Banyuasin with six respondents were the headmaster, assistant of the headmaster in curriculum, operator, administration staff, and two teachers of English. Data collection technique used in this study were interview, observation and documenting. The truthworthness in this study was using triangulation. The findings showed that (1) the implementation of standard process at SMP Harapan Ibu has done according to the national standart at the school which they still used the school based urriculum and curriculum of 2013; (2) the learning implementation has conveyed aaccording to the schedule of the school; (3) findings the differences implementation of using school based curriculum has been conveying in 7 and 8-1 class, and using curriculum of 2013 at 8-2, 9-1 and 9-2 class.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the learning behaviors of the children with late language emergence. This study specifically sought to determine the parents’ experience when facilitating their language learning intervention to their children. Thus, it aims to identify the struggles and rewarding instances of the participants as they teach their child to grow with language. The researcher used a qualitative approach to uncover the trends in thoughts and opinions and to dive deeper into the problem. The participants were chosen personally by the researcher and all of them is encountering the same problem being their child is a late talker. The findings of this study showed that the participants observed that their children has a common behavioral patterns and behavioral learnings. This shows that late talkers has the same manner of keeping up with the pace and has and identical way of learning when it comes to language acquisition. This paper evaluated the struggles, experiences, and rewarding instances of parents when facilitating the learning of their late talker children.

Abstract

This study evaluates the quality of education and teacher training at the IPA's Balai Diklat Keagamaan in Palembang. This study employs a qualitative design. The results of the study show that the context program aims to improve people's confidence and skills. However, the process of research is inefficient, therefore the product that is produced does not meet the minimum standards that were expected.

Abstract

This study was experimental research. The writer conducted this study at senior high school of SMK Negeri 3 Palembang. This study investigated to find out whether or not : (1) there is significant difference in reading comprehension achievement between the students who both have high reading interest taught by using SQ3R technique and those who are taught by using conventional technique, (2) there is significant difference in reading comprehension achievement between the students who both have low reading interest taught by using SQ3R technique and those who are taught by using conventional technique, (3) there is significant difference in reading comprehension achievement between the students who have high reading interest and low reading interest taught by using SQ3R technique, (4) there is significant difference in reading comprehension achievement between students who have high reading interest and low reading interest taught by using conventional strategy, (5) there is significant interaction effect of SQ3R strategy and reading interest towards the students’ reading comprehension achievement. From the finding it was found that SQ3R contributed to improve students reading comprehension achievement.
