Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Al-‘Arabiyah Baina Yadaik (ABY) Volume I textbook in developing maharah istima’ and maharah kalam among tenth-grade female students at Ma’had Riyadhush Shalihat (MARSHA), a female tahfidz Islamic boarding school in Boyolali, Central Java. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a single-case study design. Data were collected through structured observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving 12 female students and three Arabic language teachers over one academic year. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal three interrelated aspects. First, the implementation was carried out through a teacher-internalized curriculum model supported by mufradat reinforcement in the dormitory three times daily. Second, the implementation accelerated learning achievement, as reflected in the students’ successful completion of Volume I and progression to Volume 2A within one academic year, accompanied by improvements in phonetic discrimination and listening comprehension skills. Third, a performance paradox was identified in which students were able to communicate spontaneously and functionally in Arabic within the dormitory environment but tended to remain passive during formal classroom instruction. This condition was influenced by language anxiety and peer pressure. The study underscores that the effectiveness of instructional material implementation requires the integration of learning systems, language-use environments, and students’ affective dimensions.

Abstract

Paddy field pawn (rahn) practices remain a common form of traditional financing among rural farmers due to limited access to formal financial institutions. In Montorna Village, Pasongsongan District, Sumenep Regency, this practice is commonly carried out through a mechanism in which the lender (murtahin) gains control over the pledged land and often enjoys the entire harvest yield without reducing the principal debt owed by the borrower (rahin). Such conditions have the potential to create economic exploitation because the contract is implemented without a clear time limit, while the benefits received by the murtahin may exceed the value of the original loan. This study aims to analyze the practice of paddy field pawning and examine it from the perspective of maqashid sharia. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that the existing practice does not fully fulfill the principles of hifz al-mal (protection of wealth) and hifz al-nafs (protection of human welfare). Therefore, improvements are required in the contractual arrangement to ensure greater fairness, transparency, and compliance with the principles of Islamic economics.

Abstract

The acceleration of digital education in Indonesia is currently confronted with the issue of a technology skills divide and conventional curriculum frameworks that tend to be theoretical-fragmentary. To anticipate these challenges, this study aims to conceptualize curriculum reconstruction through an eclectic-integrative approach to fully facilitate learners' multidimensional development. The methodology employs a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis techniques, utilizing a theoretical review of classical to contemporary curriculum models, an evaluation of the Kurikulum Merdeka policy, and case study explanations from both formal and non-formal educational institutions. The results confirm that the structural limitations of traditional and progressive design models can be bridged through the synchronization of horizontal and vertical organizational dimensions. This eclectic-integrative formula simultaneously unifies the strengths of academic orientation (subject-centered), humanization (learner-centered), and social problem resolution (problem-centered). Through a cohesive integration of instructional phases spanning the consolidation of scientific foundations, internalization of affective values, and execution of social actions this model proves highly accelerative in enhancing digital competence, aligning outcomes with the Profil Pelajar Pancasila, and fostering tangible community empathy. This study concludes that the eclectic-integrative pattern serves as a visionary, adaptive, and contextual curriculum foundation to reform the national educational landscape in the modern era.

Abstract

Religious and cultural diversity in multicultural societies requires students to develop strong tolerance character. This condition poses a challenge for Islamic schools in internalizing Islamic values, particularly within non-Muslim majority environments. This study aims to analyze the internalization of Islamic values in fostering students’ tolerance character through Al-Qur’an Hadith learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah As-Syafi’iyah Pemuteran, Bali. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted from April 25 to May 10, 2026. The informants consisted of one principal, two teachers, and eight students selected through purposive sampling due to their direct involvement in the learning process. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the internalization of values was implemented through role modeling, habituation, and social interaction, which fostered respect for differences, harmonious coexistence, and strengthened students’ Islamic character and religious moderation.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the transformation of Islamic finance in the digital age by examining the opportunities and challenges it presents for Muslim communities. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, involving an analysis of books, journal articles, official documents, regulations, fatwas, and scientific publications related to Islamic finance, the digital economy, Sharia fintech, digital Sharia financial literacy, and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. The study’s findings indicate that digital Islamic finance presents significant opportunities to expand access to Sharia-compliant financial services, enhance financial inclusion, support the development of halal SMEs, and optimize the management of zakat, infak, sedekah, and waqf through digital platforms. However, this transformation also faces challenges such as low digital Sharia financial literacy, data security risks, the public’s limited understanding of contracts, Sharia compliance, regulations, and users’ ethical awareness. Therefore, the strengthening of digital Islamic finance must be achieved through improved public literacy, Sharia oversight, adaptive regulations, consumer protection, and collaboration among the government, Sharia financial institutions, religious scholars, academics, educational institutions, and digital industry players. This article emphasizes that digital Islamic finance is not merely a form of financial service modernization but also a vital instrument in building an inclusive, secure, just, and public-interest-oriented economy for the Muslim community.

Data collection techniques used material expert validation questionnaires, media expert validation questionnaires, and teacher response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques by calculating the percentage of media feasibility. The results of the study showed that the HURUFIA educational game media obtained a validation percentage of 75% from material experts with a category of feasible and 90% from media experts with a very feasible category. In addition, teacher responses to the media obtained a percentage of 83.5% with a very feasible category. These results indicate that the HURUFIA educational game media based on Canva AI is suitable for use as a learning medium to introduce letters to children aged 4–5 years. Thus, HURUFIA media can be an alternative learning media that is innovative, interactive, and appropriate to the characteristics of early childhood in supporting early literacy development.
