Abstract

Gender equity in education is not merely determined by policies but by how they are translated into classroom practices. Gender-responsive lesson planning is a strategic policy instrument for fostering equitable and inclusive learning in madrasah education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of gender-responsive lesson planning, the practice of gender equity in classroom learning, and the relationship between both. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. Data were collected through standardized questionnaires administered to teachers and students, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of gender-responsive lesson planning is at a high level, while gender equity practices are consistently applied. Correlational analysis reveals a strong and significant positive relationship between the quality of lesson planning and the realization of gender equity in classroom practices (r = 0.78, p < 0.05). These results suggest that well-designed, gender-responsive lesson planning plays a crucial role in promoting educational equity. The study implies that strengthening policy-oriented lesson planning, supported by institutional commitment and continuous teacher capacity development, is essential for creating inclusive and gender-equitable learning environments in madrasah education

Abstract

This study addresses the limited availability of empirically grounded planning models in the governance of modern Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), where planning practices are often informal, insufficiently participatory, and weakly integrated with implementation and evaluation processes. This study aims to develop a good practice–based planning model to strengthen institutional governance, using a case study of Pondok Pesantren Al Ittihad Cianjur, Indonesia. A qualitative case study approach was employed, supported by in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and institutional document analysis to capture the dynamics of planning practices within the pesantren context. The findings reveal that planning processes characterized by participation, transparency, and continuous evaluation significantly enhance role clarity, organizational coordination, and program effectiveness. Furthermore, the integration of experiential knowledge from previous programs into planning practices enables the development of adaptive and context-sensitive governance mechanisms. This study contributes to Islamic education management literature by offering an empirically grounded and operational planning model that moves beyond normative frameworks. Practically, the model provides actionable guidance for pesantren administrators in designing sustainable and effective planning systems aligned with institutional values and contemporary governance demands.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of a ziarah kubur program as a POAC-based management strategy for character education at SMK IT Al-Musyarrofah, Cianjur. The study aims to explain how planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling are embedded in a routine spiritual program and how the program indicates changes in students’ character. A qualitative case study was employed. Participants included one principal, one vice principal for curriculum, one Islamic education teacher, three supporting teachers, and 156 students from grades X–XII. Informants were selected through a combination of purposive and participatory sampling. Data were collected from September to November 2025 through interviews, observations, reflective journals, attendance records, and school documents. The findings indicate consistent signals of positive character development, particularly in respect toward teachers, reflective awareness of death, and spiritual discipline. Evidence was drawn from interview excerpts, observation notes, and student reflections. This study contributes by mapping POAC steps into a routine spiritual program in an Islamic vocational school and by highlighting the need for structured character evaluation instruments.

Abstract

Vision and mission statements in madrasahs are often reduced to symbolic artefacts, with limited translation into operational practices. Despite theoretical emphasis on strategic alignment and collaborative governance, empirical evidence on how such alignment is operationalized in value-based Islamic education remains limited. This study examines how participatory mechanisms mediate the transformation of vision–mission statements into institutional practices. Using a qualitative single-case design at MI Al-Muhajirin Purwakarta (n = 5), data were collected through interviews, observation, and document analysis, and analyzed iteratively. Findings reveal a dynamic alignment process involving participatory deliberation, institutionalization through RKAM linking vision to indicators and resources, pedagogical translation in classrooms, and recursive monitoring supported by instructional leadership. Islamic values function not only as cultural norms but as governance mechanisms shaping decision-making. However, alignment is constrained by uneven teacher capacity and weak monitoring systems. This study advances normative-strategic alignment and offers practical insights for strengthening value-based governance in madrasah management.

Abstract

This study examines the management of tahfidz program planning to accelerate the memorization of students at the Darojatul Ashfad Bekasi Modern Islamic Boarding School. The background arises from the need for a systematic, adaptive, and measurable tahfidz program, so that the memorization process can be more consistent and effective. The research aims to analyze how tahfidz program planning is formulated, implemented, and evaluated as a memorization acceleration strategy. The methods used qualitatively with a case study approach, involving observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, were analyzed thematically. The results show that planning that adjusts the memorization target to the initial ability of the students, regulates the balance between new memorization and muraja'ah, and is supported by a data-based monitoring and evaluation system, improves the consistency and speed of memorization, with the average daily achievement increasing significantly. These findings confirm that the acceleration of memorization is not just the result of learning intensity, but an adaptive and integrated planning management product. The research provides a practical contribution in the form of a tahfidz planning management model based on memorization acceleration that can be used as a reference for modern pesantren managers to strengthen the effectiveness and quality of tahfidz programs, as well as support the development of contemporary Islamic education management.

Abstract

This study examines the practices of financial planning and budget transparency at MA Al-Holiliyah Cidaun Cianjur using a descriptive qualitative approach. Given that previous research on madrasah financial governance is still limited to conventional approaches, this study explores the integrative application of strategic environmental analysis (PESTLE and SWOT) in madrasah financial planning. Data were obtained through document analysis of the Madrasah Work Plan and financial reports, as well as non-participant observation of administrative practices. The data were then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that annual budgeting is conducted through internal coordination. However, the transparency of financial information remains limited to internal stakeholders and has not been consistently communicated to external parties. The novelty of this study lies in the development of an integrative PESTLE-SWOT model contextualized to analyze the dynamics of madrasah finances. Planning documents have proven to be not merely administrative requirements but vital instruments of accountability. The results of this study provide practical contributions for madrasah administrators in formulating adaptive planning, as well as theoretical contributions in enriching the literature on strategic management in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to deeply analyze the alignment between lesson planning and actual classroom implementation in Islamic Early Childhood Education (PAUD), based on the Holistic Integrative (HI) approach. This qualitative case study was conducted at RA Al-Hidayah Ciparay. The data collection process involved various stakeholders, namely one principal, three teachers, and four parents as primary informants. Comprehensive data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, which were subsequently analyzed using thematic coding techniques. The findings reveal that although Islamic teachings and values have been conceptually integrated into the lesson planning documents, a significant operational gap remains. This gap is evident in the formulation of developmental indicators, which lack measurability, and the minimal use of evaluative assessment data in designing subsequent instruction. Consequently, classroom implementation tends to rely more heavily on teachers' personal intuition rather than systematic, empirical data-driven assessments. This study provides a crucial contribution by identifying the root of the operational gap between integrating Islamic values and developmental indicators. It also highlights the urgency of adaptive, assessment-based curriculum alignment to improve the quality of Islamic early childhood education.

Abstract

The gap in faith-based educational management research remains largely descriptive and has yet to operationally construct a value-based policy model within a policy cycle framework. This study aims to construct a conceptual model of value-driven policy governance at Pesantren Modern Al-Huda Al-Musri'1. A qualitative case study approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving nine key informants consisting of the foundation chairman, kiai council members, senior teachers, and administrative staff. The findings indicate that the policy process operates in a circular cycle consisting of three stages: value-embedded deliberative planning through kiai deliberation forums, integrative implementation combining traditional bandongan and sorogan methods with digital innovation, and reflective evaluation through the Temu Keluarga forum. Based on these findings, the study constructs the Value-Driven Participatory Policy Cycle as a conceptual model explaining how spiritual values function as institutional infrastructure in faith-based educational governance, where policy legitimacy is built through collective moral consensus rather than formal authority alone.

Abstract

Research on Islamic school quality management has predominantly focused on external environmental factors, while the systematic relationship between religious organizational culture, digital readiness, and institutional quality in Indonesian madrasahs remains underexplored. This study aims to analyze internal environmental planning for improving institutional quality at MA Milbos Bogor City. The research questions are: what is the current condition of the madrasah's internal environment, what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for quality improvement, and what internal planning strategies can be formulated? This study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected over three months through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation with eight key informants are the Principal, five teachers, and two administrative staff, selected purposively. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The findings indicate that MA Milbos is at a developing stage. Its key strengths are harmonious religious work culture and educator commitment, while constraints include uneven teacher discipline, limited technology-based learning facilities, and manual administrative processes. Five internal planning strategies were formulated. This study contributes to the contextualization of Total Quality Management theory for madrasah governance by integrating religious-cultural dimensions and digital readiness indicators

Abstract

This study analyzes the planning and budgeting system based on RKAM from the perspective of financing effectiveness at MA Al-Marfuiyah Cibadak Sukabumi. The problem addressed in this study is that RKAM is often treated as an administrative budgeting document rather than an instrument for controlling educational financing effectiveness. This study used a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through interviews, document analysis, and limited observation when needed. The data were analyzed by identifying the relationship between educational needs, program priorities, funding sources, budget allocation, implementation evidence, and educational outputs. The findings show that RKAM at MA Al-Marfuiyah has functioned as a formal and structured planning document. It links vision, mission, programs, funding sources, schedules, and the eight National Education Standards. However, its effectiveness is still stronger at the administrative and operational levels than at the substantive outcome level. Several programs have budget allocations, but not all are supported by measurable output and outcome indicators. This study contributes to educational financing literature by positioning RKAM as an effectiveness-oriented management instrument, not merely a compliance document.
