Liwaul Dakwah: Jurnal Kajian Dakwah dan Masyarakat Islam adalah jurnal akademik yang diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Ushuluddin Adab dan Dakwah sejak tahun 2013. Jurnal Liwaul Dakwah menempatkan studi-studi Dakwah dan Masyarakat Islam dalam fokus utama sebagai kajian akademik serta mengundang pengamatan komprehensif dari studi multidisiplin. Jurnal ini, berfungsi sebagai media untuk studi pengembangan masyarakat Islam di Indonesia dan bagian lain dunia dalam konteks nasional dan global. Jurnal Liwaul Dakwah mengundang peneliti untuk melakukan kajian Dakwah dan Masyarakat Islam dengan studi interdisipliner dan ditinjau dari berbagai perspektif. Subjek mencakup studi tekstual (konsepsional) dan penelitian lapangan dengan objek kajian Dakwah dan Masyarakat Islam. Jurnal ini diharapkan dapat menjadi media bagi Sarjana Indonesia dan Dunia untuk memperkaya pengetahuan dalam berbagai kajian. Liwaul Dakwah tidak henti berusaha menyajikan artikel-artikel ilmiah yang sangat berkualitas, meliputi peningkatan dalam hal format, gaya, dan kualitas akademik. Meskipun bahasa utama yang digunakan dalam jurnal ini adalah bahasa Indonesia, namun terbuka ruang seluas-luasnya untuk mempublikasikan artikel dalam bahasa Inggris. Liwaul Dakwah adalah jurnal yang mempublikasikan artikel ilmiah dengan prosedur peer-review yang adil, objektif dan selektif. Jurnal Liwaul Dakwah mempublikasikan penelitian dan studi yang berkaitan dengan kajian Dakwah dan Masyarakat Islam yang dikaji secara integratif dan interkonektif dengan berbagai dimensi dan pendekatan yang meliputi: Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam, Bimbingan dan Konseling Islam, Tafsir dan Ilmu-ilmu Al quran, Sastra dan Kebudayaan Islam dan Pengembangan masyarakat Islam berbasis literatur klasik Aceh, Nusantara dan peradaban dunia. Jurnal Liwaul Dakwah diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun pada bulan Juni dan Desember. Liwaul Dakwah adalah jurnal yang berisi tulisan-tulisan yang merangkum hasil penelitian dan pemikiran konseptual. Publikasi ini tersedia dalam dua versi: cetak dan elektronik. Versi Cetak sudah dipublikasikan sejak tahun 2013, sementara versi online mulai dipublikasikan tahun 2020 dan dapat diakses secara terbuka dan gratis tanpa berlangganan.

Abstract

The oil palm farming community in South Labuhan Batu (LABUESEL) area is included in the category of oil palm farmers whose income reaches the zakat nisab, but the culture of increasing zakat from oil palm harvests has not been realized properly. Meanwhile, oil palm farming has become one of the agricultural commodities that must be zakated based on the verse of the Qur'an, Al-Baqarah 267. The problem that then arises is what are the factors causing the oil palm farming community in LABUSEL to not fully pay zakat from their oil palm farming results. The collection of data to answer this problem was carried out through observation and interviews with oil palm farmers in the Muzakki category. The results of the study showed that there were three factors causing The LABUSEL’s oil palm farming community not to fully pay zakat on their oil palm farming products, namely: understanding of Shafi'i fiqh which provides criteria for agricultural zakat that must be paid only on staple foods, following the habits of the community who still do not pay zakat on oil palm farming, not knowing that oil palm harvests are a taxable commodity according to Islamic law, and not knowing that there is a regional regulation regarding oil palm harvests including commodities that must be paid zakat if they meet the requirements.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Islamic service at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KCP 2 Alue Bilie, Darul Makmur District, Nagan Raya Regency. The main focus is on how Islamic leadership principles based on the exemplary traits of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, such as honesty (shiddiq), trustworthiness (amanah), professionalism (fathanah), effective communication (tabligh), patience, and empathy are applied in customer service. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with in-depth interviews of employees and customers. The findings show that services at BSI are in accordance with Sharia principles and Islamic leadership values despite some technical and customer comprehension challenges. This study highlights the importance of strengthening Islamic values to build a work culture and service that is not only professional but also spiritually and socially valuable.

Abstract

Hajj pilgrimage is a mandatory pillar of Islam for Muslims who meet the requirements of physical, mental, and financial capability. This study aims to examine the health service management for prospective hajj pilgrims in Banda Aceh City, including physical examinations, vaccinations, and the utilization of health information systems based on applications such as SISKOHAT. The research method is qualitative descriptive with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that health service management plays a vital role in ensuring the physical and mental readiness of pilgrims to face the challenges of the Holy Land environment. An integrated health information system facilitates monitoring and reporting health conditions. Optimization of health services contributes to the smooth and successful implementation of the pilgrimage safely and devoutly. The Aceh Health Office continues to improve service quality through education and inter-agency collaboration.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas strategi pengembangan komunikasi digital dalam meningkatkan retensi pelanggan melalui penerapan program Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan menelaah berbagai literatur terkait komunikasi digital, retensi pelanggan, dan implementasi CRM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi digital berperan penting dalam memperkuat hubungan perusahaan dengan pelanggan melalui interaksi yang lebih cepat, personal, dan relevan. Penerapan CRM mendukung pengelolaan data pelanggan sehingga strategi komunikasi dapat dirancang lebih efektif dan berorientasi pada kebutuhan individu. Faktor pendukung seperti perkembangan teknologi, akses internet, dan kompetensi sumber daya manusia memperkuat penerapan strategi ini. Namun, terdapat pula hambatan seperti keterbatasan pengelolaan data, rendahnya partisipasi pelanggan, keterbatasan anggaran, serta perubahan perilaku konsumen yang dinamis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan komunikasi digital berbasis CRM merupakan strategi kunci dalam mempertahankan loyalitas pelanggan, dengan catatan perusahaan harus mampu beradaptasi terhadap tantangan yang ada.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana pemilihan tema dakwah berpengaruh terhadap konsentrasi jama’ah dengan menggunakan pendekatan teori Agenda Setting. Teori ini, yang pertama kali dikemukakan oleh McCombs dan Shaw, menegaskan bahwa komunikator maupun media memiliki peranan penting dalam menonjolkan isu yang dianggap urgen oleh masyarakat. Dalam praktik dakwah, da’i berfungsi sebagai komunikator utama yang mampu mengarahkan perhatian jama’ah melalui topik yang relevan dengan situasi sosial mereka. Studi ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik lapangan dan wawancara pada masyarakat Desa Talang Makmur, Kecamatan Sungai Menang, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa tema-tema dakwah yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan nyata, seperti ekonomi umat, pembinaan moral generasi muda, dan keharmonisan keluarga lebih disukai jama’ah dibandingkan tema yang bersifat abstrak maupun teoretis. Dengan demikian, teori Agenda Setting terbukti relevan dalam menganalisis praktik komunikasi dakwah di tingkat pedesaan.

Abstract

Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) Merupakan sebuah program intervensi Nasional dan menjadi program prioritas sebagai upaya untuk menurunkan kasus stunting anak yang masih tinggi di Indoneisa. Tujuan penelitian ini ingin melihat bagaimana strategi komunikasi Islam yang dilakukan MBG dalam mensosialisasikan program tersebut. Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Informan penelitian dipilih berdasarkan purposive sampling diantaranya; yayasan penyelenggara, koordinaor MBG, Kepala sekolah dan wakil kepala sekolah, guru-guru, orangtua siswa dan siswa. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ada 3 pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam sosialisasi Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) yaitu strategi informative mengenai teknis pelaksanaan MBG, persuasive dengan menyampaikan MBG dalam pandangan Islam berserta QS. Al-Baqarah: 195 dan hadis, selanjutnya komunikasi edukatif yang menyampaikan dari segi gizi dan kesehatan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa perpaduan pendekatan agama, kesehatan, dan edukasi menjadi cara efektif meningkatkan pemahaman dan partisipasi pada MAN 3 Mandailing Natal.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the forms and patterns of youth participation, the driving and inhibiting factors, as well as their contributions to da‘wah activities and social change at the Grand Mosque of Gunung Tua, Padang Lawas Utara Regency. The study employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through online interviews conducted via WhatsApp Chat and WhatsApp Call. The research participants included mosque youth, mosque administrators, and community leaders who were directly involved in da‘wah activities.The findings revealed that youth participation encompassed a wide range of roles, including attending Islamic study sessions, acting as mobilizers of da‘wah activities, and performing technical roles such as documentation, sound system management, and organizing committees. The patterns of youth participation varied, including consistent, situational, initiative-based, and responsive participation, which were influenced by personal interests, time availability, and communication patterns within the mosque organization. The driving factors of youth participation included religious motivation, social and family support, peer influence, and the openness of mosque administrators to youth ideas and creativity. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors consisted of educational and occupational commitments, weak time management, limited attractiveness of activities, inadequate facilities, and low self-confidence. Overall, youth participation contributed significantly to social change through digital-based da‘wah innovations, social activities, youth development programs, and the strengthening of solidarity and the role of the mosque as a center for community empowerment.

Abstract

This study examines parasocial communication between millennial dai and their audiences on Instagram and TikTok within the context of digital Islamic preaching. The shift of da‘wah from conventional spaces to social media not only transforms the medium of religious communication but also reshapes communicative relations, intimacy construction, and the legitimation of religious authority. This study aims to analyze the strategies of parasocial intimacy construction employed by millennial dai and to compare how these strategies differ across Instagram and TikTok. Adopting a qualitative approach, this research employs digital netnography, multimodal content analysis, and audience reception interviews. Data were collected through sustained observation of five popular millennial dai, analysis of high-engagement Instagram posts and TikTok videos, and semi-structured interviews with active followers. The findings reveal that millennial dai employ six primary intimacy construction strategies: personal self-disclosure, interactive responsiveness, relatable informal language, emotional storytelling, behind-the-scenes content, and participation in digital trends. Cross-platform analysis shows that Instagram tends to foster curated and aspirational intimacy, whereas TikTok produces intimacy that appears spontaneous through casual expression and viral culture. However, the study demonstrates that such authenticity is performative and strategically adapted to platform-specific affordances. The findings further indicate that digital intimacy does not necessarily dilute religious messages, but rather transforms hierarchical preacher–audience relations into more fluid and communicative forms. At the same time, millennial dai operate within the logic of the attention economy and micro-celebrity culture, which may strengthen audience attachment while also posing risks of religious commodification and persona-centered devotion. Theoretically, this study contributes to parasocial communication scholarship within digital religion studies; practically, it offers a critical understanding of contemporary Islamic preaching in social media environments.

Abstract

This research is a conceptual study that aims to examine the relevance of the Uses and Gratifications (U&G) theory in the context of social media use in the increasingly algorithmic digital era. Using a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature review, this article analyzes the development of U&G theory from traditional media to interactive social media, and examines the expansion of gratification categories that have emerged in contemporary digital platforms. The results of the study indicate that although U&G theory remains relevant to explaining motives for social media use, there is a significant gap between gratifications sought (GS) and gratifications obtained (GO). Users often seek social connection, self-expression, and identity validation, but in practice, they experience digital fatigue, social anxiety, and decreased psychological well-being. This gap is further exacerbated by the role of platform algorithms that limit users' conscious choices through data-driven content curation. This finding distinguishes this article from previous U&G studies that tend to emphasize user gratification without critiquing the structural dimensions of social media. Theoretically, this article contributes to the development of U&G by emphasizing the importance of integrating classic gratifications, new gratifications, and critiques of algorithmic systems to ensure the theory remains relevant in explaining contemporary social media user behavior.

Abstract

This study examines digital da’wah practices as an arena for negotiating religious authority through audience interaction on social media. Unlike previous studies that predominantly focus on sermon content analysis, this research highlights how the meaning of da’wah and the legitimacy of preachers are dialogically negotiated within comment sections. Employing a netnographic approach, this study analyzes 45 da’wah contents from three prominent preachers’ accounts Ustaz Hanan Attaki, Gus Baha, and Habib Jafar published between January and June 2024 on Instagram and YouTube. The data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis with thematic coding, focusing on visual narratives and audience comments. The findings reveal three main typologies of audience interaction: (1) theological affirmation that reinforces the symbolic authority of the preacher, (2) trivial fiqh debates indicating the fragmentation of religious authority, and (3) the construction of religious identity through narratives of hijrah and personal morality. These findings demonstrate that digital da’wah functions not merely as a medium for disseminating religious messages but also as a space for the commodification of Islamic symbols and an arena for meaning negotiation between preachers and audiences. This study underscores the importance of understanding digital da’wah as a participatory, commodified form of religious communication that has significant implications for the legitimacy of religious authority in the social media era.
