Abstract

The study of hadith as a source of Islamic teachings after the Qur’an is an important part of Islamic studies in Indonesia, both in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and Islamic higher education. The study of hadith at these two Islamic educational institutions has a different style. Hadith studies in pesantren are more focused on understanding the content of text (matan) of hadith by studying the traditions contained in the books of Riyad al-Salihin, Sahih al-Bukhori, Sahih Muslim and other books. Meanwhile, the study of hadith in Islamic higher education has experienced rapid development by focusing on the study of methodological mastery, for example, sanad and matan research methodologies. The books that are used as references are also more varied, such as the book of the tarikh al-ruwat, al-jarh wa al-ta'dil, rijal al-hadith, and other contemporary hadith books. This study aims to comprehensively reveal the development of hadith studies in these two Islamic educational institutions. This type of research is field research (field research). The data were collected by conducting a direct search in the field through the methods of interview, observation, and documentation. The data collected were analyzed and presented in a qualitative descriptive manner using a phenomenological approach. The research found that the study of hadith in Islamic boarding schools and Islamic higher education had different tendencies. These two tendencies need to be mapped so that they can be used as a model in comprehensively studying the Prophet's hadith.

Abstract

This research focuses on developing health-based da'wah as a holistic approach to increasing public health awareness within the framework of Islamic values. Health-based da'wah integrates religious teachings with modern health principles to encourage sustainable behavior change. In Islam, maintaining health is seen as a spiritual responsibility, as explained in the Koran and hadith, such as the importance of cleanliness, healthy eating patterns, and maintaining physical, mental and spiritual balance. The research method uses a qualitative-descriptive approach by examining Islamic literature and public health practices. This research found that da'wah bil hal, namely da'wah through concrete actions, is an effective method for conveying Islamic values that are relevant to health. Examples include educating the public about the importance of maintaining cleanliness through the teaching "cleanliness is part of faith" or promoting healthy eating patterns by referring to the recommendations of the Prophet Muhammad. The research results show that health-based da'wah is able to reach various levels of society, both in urban and rural areas. This approach is also relevant for addressing increasing mental health challenges, especially in urban communities. In addition, collaboration between religious leaders, health practitioners and government institutions is needed to expand the impact of this da'wah. The research conclusion confirms that health-based da'wah not only plays a role in improving people's physical and mental well-being, but also strengthens spiritual awareness as a basis for living a healthy lifestyle according to Islamic teachings.

Abstract

The main characteristic of the post-truth era is the proliferation of fake news (hoaxes), disinformation, and misinformation that spreads at an extraordinary speed. This information is often designed to manipulate emotions, reinforce polarization, or damage reputations. The line between fact and fiction becomes blurred, making it difficult for society to distinguish between what is true and what is not. This phenomenon is exacerbated by the role of social media and algorithms that create echo chambers or filter bubbles. Users tend to be exposed only to information that aligns with their own views, which further reinforces existing beliefs and makes them resistant to contrary information. This creates an environment where confirmation bias is highly dominant. In the context of preaching, the post-truth era presents a significant challenge. Straightforward preaching messages based on strong evidence can easily be distorted or attacked by narratives based on emotions and slander. The community is also affected. highly at risk of exposure to deviant teachings because it is difficult to distinguish credible sources of information. The impact of this era is not limited to information but also affects public trust in institutions—including religious organizations and scholars. When facts are questioned and emotions dominate, the authority of scientific and religious knowledge can erode, which in turn can threaten social and religious stability.

In conducting da'wah, whether under the direction of another body or independently, education or training for Da'i is very important. As a conveyor of da'wah to the target group, da'i are obliged to carry out their duties professionally. Therefore, based on these arguments, it is important to obtain qualified or professional Da'i. This means that da'wah cannot just happen, it is not a simple act. Thorough planning is required before conducting da'wah, including placing people according to their respective fields of expertise. It is important for a Da'i to have the necessary skills to carry out their duties in the field of Da'wah. The results of this study emphasize the relevance of effective Da'wah competencies and Da'wah to the success of Da'wah organizations. This includes the ability to lead organizations effectively because they have technical, human, and conceptual skills, as well as the ability to apply and expand their mindset in Sharia administration

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of da'wah (Islamic outreach) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Jakarta under the leadership of K.H. Faiz Syukron Makmun. The study focuses on the strategic transformation undertaken, particularly related to efforts to revitalize da'wah to make it more relevant and adaptive. Using a qualitative case study method, data was collected through literature review, web news analysis, and observation. The results show a significant shift from conventional da'wah to a collaborative, inclusive model utilizing digital technology. This innovation has succeeded in increasing public participation and strengthening the MUI's image as a dynamic institution. Despite facing challenges such as liberalism, radicalism, and digital dynamics, the new leadership has demonstrated initial success in establishing the MUI as a credible reference. This study concludes that the da'wah model promoted by the MUI of Jakarta can serve as a reference for other religious institutions in facing the challenges of da'wah in the modern era.

Abstract

This research analyzes how demonstrations are viewed by contemporary Muslim intellectuals. The research method is based on a qualitative approach with a literature study basis. Primary references use recent studies with a number of pros and cons that have occurred between the main supporters (Ikhwanul Muslimin) and those who strongly oppose it (Madkhaliyah). Secondary references use indirectly related research. The research findings show that there are 4 characteristics of Muslim-majority countries that need to be differentiated concerning the law of demonstrations: (1) Muslim-majority countries that adopt the principle of shura in their political system. Demonstrations are considered haram because of the principle of obedience to the government as long as it does not involve disobedience to God. (2) Muslim-majority countries that adopt the principle of democracy. Demonstrations are allowed, even recommended or obligatory, as long as they do not aim to annul the government. (3) Occupied Muslim-majority countries. Demonstrations in occupied Muslim-majority countries, such as intifada actions and the like, are considered obligatory. The obligation is not limited to demonstrations but extends to jihad, both defensive and offensive. (4) Demonstrations in non-Muslim countries are considered permissible as long as they do not create problems for the Muslim minority.
