The aims of this research to find out the significant correlation between students’ motivationmand vocabulary mastery at the tenth gradeystudents of SMA N 1 Tangen Kabupaten Sragen in the 2019/2020 academic year.IThe researcher conducted a correlation research. Tomcollect the data the researcher held try-out and test. After collecting the data,jthe researcher analyzed the data using validity and reliability test.jThe calculating of the collected data showsmthat the coefficient of the correlation between students’omotivation (X) and vocabularybmastery (Y) was 0,130 with the level significant 5% for degreemof freedom (df) = 26 was 0,388 and the level significant 1% for degree of freedom (df) =26 was 0,496 which Ho = rxy < rtable, it means r observation (rxy) was lowest than rtable and it was concluded that the Null Hypothesis was accepted, there was a negative of significant correlation between students’ motivation (X) and vocabulary mastery(Y) was rejected. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis was rejected. It can bemconcluded that there is negativemcorrelation between students’wmotivation and vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Tangen Kabupaten Sragen in the 2019/2020 academic year.” Keyword: CorrelationmStudy, Students’mMotivation. This research was concerned with the students' perception of the use of Whatsapp in teaching writing. The objectives of this research were as follows: 1) to analyze the activities were carried out in using WhatsApp messenger in the learning process at the Seventh Grade Students of SMP N 18 Surakarta in Academic Year 2019/2020; 2)To analyze the students perceive the applications and students’ perception towards the use of WhatsApp at the Seventh Grade Students of SMP N 18 Surakarta in Academic Year 2019/2020; 3)to analyze students frequency in use WhatsApp Messenger to learn writing skills the Seventh Grade Students of SMP N 18 Surakarta in Academic Year 2019/2020. In this research, the researcher used qualitative method. The researcher used source observation, interview, questionnaire, and documents as the source of the data. The result of this research showed that there were some activities were carried out using WhatsApp such as: the students used WhatsApp as the tool for communication and discussion with their friend or the teacher outside the class, sent the assignment by students, giving assignment by teacher. The students perception toward using WhatsApp such as: students can learn anywhere and save their energy in learning English, WhatsApp help students to develop their English writing. The students frequency in using WhatsApp such as: students used WhatsApp to did their assignment and sent the result to the teacher at least once a week, students used WhatsApp to communicate with their friends everyday. The aims of the research was to describe the implementation of whatsapp application in teaching reading comprehension, to know the problems faced by the students in teaching reading comprehension by whatsapp application and to know the problems faced by the teacher in teaching reading comprehension by whatsapp application. This research used Qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research was class VIIIF of SMPN 18 Surakarta in Academic Year 2019/2020. To collect the data, the researcher used questionnaires and interview with teacher and students. After collecting the data the researcher analyzed the data by using qualitative anaylsis data. The qualitative anaylsis data consisted of data collection, data reduction, data display and data verification. The result of this research showed that the teacher explained the material before giving the assignments through whatsapp. During teaching learning process the teacher did not give the punishment when the students did not submit the assignments. There were some problems faced by students such as there was bad internet connections and the students were lack of understanding the material. While there were also some problems faced by the teacher such as there was bad internet connections and the teacher could not monitor students directly. This research was concerned with the students’ attitudes on the implementation of WhatsApp Messenger in teaching writing. The aim from the research are : (1) To analyze the activities are carried out in using WhatsApp messenger in the learning process at the Eighth Grade Students of SMP N 18 Surakarta in Academic Year 2019/2020, (2) To analyze the students' perceive the applications towards WhatsApp at the Eighth Grade Students of SMP N 18 Surakarta in Academic Year 2019/2020, (3) To analyze student's utilization in the use WhatsApp Messenger to teach writing the Eighth Grade Students of SMP N 18 Surakarta in Academic Year 2019/2020. In this research, the researcher used qualitative method. The source from this research are : the interview with the English teacher, the questionnaire that distribute to the research subject via google form, and document. . The result from the research were : The Activities Carried Out in Using WhatsApp Messenger was explaining the learning material and instruction by the teacher, the students used WhatsApp Messenger as communication and discussion tools, used WhatsApp Messenger to sent an assignment to the teacher. The result of students attitudes toward use WhatsApp Messenger were : students felt happy because they could finish their assignment without felt interrupted or copied by their friends, they enjoyed the learning process because could study anytime and anywhere. The students utilization in using WhatsApp Messenger were : They used WhatsApp Messenger as place to discussed with the teacher or their friends, WhatsApp Messenger as tools to discussed about writing learning material for two hours in a day, and WhatsApp Messenger as media to practice arrange a sentence in English. As the progressive development of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in 21st century affects teaching and learning process, it help the teacher and student to make teaching learning activity easy and interesting. Moreover, with the correct and proper online education, for example by Google Form quizzes, the students are encourage to gather the information from multiple resources within the internet and free access for anytime and anywhere. This research aimed to know the students’ experience and the quality using Google form during online learning which conducted at eighth grade of junior high school in Sragen with 32 students as the sample and the data were collected by observing, interviewing, documenting, and distributing questionnaires. This research used qualitative method which shows that 57% of the students agree about the benefits of using Google forms to facilitate reading learning. As many as 32% of students expressed neutral, 4% expressed disagree, 4% stated strongly disagree, and 3% stated strongly agree about benefits of using Google forms. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Google Forms in improving reading skill which it facilitate reading learning, most of the students felt easy and can gain benefits from using Google Form in studying reading. This research was to describe the skills of students’ to write recount text and to describe the difficulties experienced by students in writing recount text. The students’ works in writing were analized based on five component of writing: organization, content, grammar, vocabulary and mechanics. This research was a descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research was class VIII H of SMPN 18 Surakarta in 2019/2020 Academic Year. The object of this research was the students’ writing recount text. Technique collected the data used observation, test, and inteview. Technique to analyze the data was used five component scoring by Brown. Based on the result the students’ were still confused to determine words and to describe the past experience and students problem which emerged were choosing the topic, arranging paragraph, and using appropriate vocabulary.Based on this finding the most dominant problem done by students’ was organization with the percentage 67.82%.. The skills of students writing recount text was fair sufficient because the mean score of the students’ was 53.36. Keywords: Writing, recount text, skills, Probelms, A Study

This research was concerned on the process of online learning especially in reading at the eighth-grade of SMP N 18 Surakarta . This study used descriptive qualitative to describe the process of online learning in reading at the eighth grade of SMP N 18 Surakarta. In this research the researcher was used questionnaire and interview to collected the data. In analyzed the data, the researcher used data reduction, data display, and data verification. From the students questionnaire, students interview and teacher interview, the researcher was found that the teacher used the grammar-translation method to teach reading in online learning. The media used by the teacher to teach reading in online learning is Visual-Media. The difficulties faced by the students are the students not understanding the questions given by the teacher, there are some students who don’t have smartphone and internet quotas, there are some students who are lazy to do their assignment. The problems faced by the teacher is the teacher can not monitor their students directly. The strategy used by the teacher to teach reading in online learning is Independent Study. The present study entitled the relationship between student’s self-esteem and student’s speaking ability of the tenth grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. The aim of the study was to investigate whether there is significant relationship between student’s self-esteem and and student’s speaking ability of the tenth grade students at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. The data were obtained by the quantitative method in correlational design.””” The study was conducted at SMK Muhamadiyah 3 Gemolong. The population were 147 students of the tenth grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong in 2019/2020 academic year. The tenth grade consisted of 6 classes. The study applied random sampling technique. The sample were 22 students. The instrument to collect the data of two variables were self-esteem questionnaire and oral test of speaking ability. The questionnaire used Coopersmith’s self-esteem scale that contained of 37 valid questions and the rubric of oral test to measure speaking ability based Penny Ur. The analyzing of data used SPSS 22.””” The findings of study were the tenth grade students of SMK Muh 3 Gemolong had 50% in high self – esteem with the mean score 65.86 and their speaking ability were in adequate level 36% with the mean score 68.63. The coefficient relationship (rxy) 0.943. Based on the result of the study, it could be concluded that the self-esteem had high positive relationship with the speaking ability of the tenth grade students at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong.”” Keywords: self-esteem, speaking ability, correlation study

This study concerned about the feminism that showed in the movie entitled “Little Women” especially from the aspects of career, love and independence. The objectives of the study were: 1) to describe career, love and independence of the women in the 19th century that represented in “Little Women” movie; 2) to describe the woman perception towards career, love, and independence in the 19th century as seen in “Little Women” movie; 3) to describe Jo March’s struggle in achieving her dreams in career, love and independence; 4) to describe the impact of gender equality in teaching and learning process in school. The method of the research used was descriptive qualitative research. The data collection used was documentation technique. Interactive model data of analysis used to analyze the data. The result of this study showed that: 1) upper-class women were more ideal compared to middle-class women in the 19th century from men’s point of view; 2) in the 19th century, most of the women were inclined with men’s point of view about ideal women; 3) Jo March represented the woman in the 19th century that succeeded in achieving her dreams in career, love and independence; 4) Gender education is important thing to be taught to the students in any level of schools. Nowadays, learning process is carried out online. One of the popular platforms is Google Classroom. This research focused on the use of Google Classroom as a medium of English learning. The objectives of the research were: 1) to find out about the process of teaching learning using Google Classroom as a medium of English learning at the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Colomadu in 2020/2021 Academic Year.; 2) to find out about the benefits of using Google Classroom as a medium of English learning at the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Colomadu in 2020/2021 Academic Year.; 3) to describe the student's problems during the teaching-learning process using Google Classroom as a medium of English learning at the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Colomadu in 2020/2021 Academic Year. This was a descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research was the students of class 8E consisting of 30 students of SMPN 1 Colomadu. The technique of collecting data was questionnaire distributed via Google form. The results of this research indicated that more than 81% of students using Google Classroom as a medium of interaction, discussion, and sharing their assignments and materials with other students or teachers went well. Almost all of the students had a positive response and the activities of using Google Classroom in English learning experienced the benefits of the Google Classroom.
