Jurnal ini disediakan untuk ahli linguistik Arab, peneliti dan praktisi Pendidikan bahsa Arab di seluruh dunia, dan arsiparis yang membutuhkan atau tertarik untuk mengikuti perkembangan dan isu-isu pendidikan bahasa Arab terkini. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dan dibiayai oleh Program Studi Magister Pendidikan Bahasa Arab, Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar, dan secara teratur menerbitkan nomor isu pada bulan Juni dan Desember. Semua artikel yang dikirimkan akan diperiksa dengan tepat oleh editor jurnal dan dikirim ke peer reviewer kami. Abstract

Al-ijaz and al-itnab are among the language styles found in the Qur'an al-Karim. This language style has a beautiful, special and distinct value equal to its position as the word of Allah SWT. This article aims to reveal the secrets behind these two language styles, focusing on surah Al-Baqarah. This study is a qualitative study that uses a descriptive and comparative approach. Based on sampling methods, this article selects 16 verses from surah Al Baqarah as samples to represent each language style discussed. Everything is explained with the aim of knowing the secrets and beauty of semantics. The research results found examples that contain very special semantics and goals, both implicit and explicit. Apart from that, it tries to make a deep impression on the human soul and heart. The secret to the beauty of the language contained in surah Al-Baqarah is: In terms of the style of the ijaz language, it contains verses that have a lot of meaning in a few pronunciations. And in terms of the style of ithnab, it contains verses that have little meaning in many pronunciations.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation process of the Team games Tournament (TGT) model to enhance the interest and learning outcomes in Arabic language for students in class XI MIA I at MA Alkhairaat Kalangkangan. The study employs a mixed method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, using Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection across two cycles. Data were collected through learning interest questionnaires, achievement tests, and classroom observation. The results show an increase in learning interest from 58.04% in cycle I to 70.4% in cycle II. Meanwhile, learning outcomes improved from 63.43% in cycle I to 77.42% in cycle II, with an 88.57% completion rate. The TGT model proved effective in creating an engaging learning environment, stimulating motivation, and encouraging active student participation in Arabic language learning.

Abstract

This study explored the transformative potential of digital platforms in Arabic language learning, particularly focusing on how these technologies break traditional barriers to Arabic language acquisition. This research employed qualitative research with a type of literature study. The primary sources of data for this study's data on the integration of digital platforms in Arabic language learning were a number of books, journals, websites, and other literary works. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, data reduction, data display, and data verification. The findings showed that the educational paradigm in Arabic language learning has undergone significant shifts towards technology integration. This study also concludes that digital platforms have great potential to break down traditional barriers in Arabic language learning, especially regarding the limitations of conventional classrooms and materials, thereby paving the way for a new era of learning that is more inclusive and accessible.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the evolution of classical Arabic linguistic theory from the 8th to 10th centuries CE by analyzing the contributions of three principal figures: al-Khalil ibn Ahmad, Sibawayh, and Ibn Jinni. Through historical-comparative approaches and textual analysis of fundamental works such as Kitab al-'Ayn, al-Kitab, and al-Khasa'is, this study traces the transformation of linguistic thought from phonological and morphological foundations, through syntactic systematization, to semantic-philosophical development. The research methodology involves in-depth philological examination of classical manuscripts and cross-period comparison to identify patterns of theoretical evolution. The findings reveal methodological continuity based on sima'i (auditory transmission) and qiyas (analogical reasoning) transmitted across generations, alongside conceptual innovations that enriched the theoretical dimensions of Arabic linguistics. These discoveries illuminate how each period presented distinctive contributions: al-Khalil with lexical-phonological systematization, Sibawayh with comprehensive grammatical codification, and Ibn Jinni with philosophical elaboration of language. This research confirms that the Arabic linguistic tradition is dynamic, receptive to intellectual development, and maintains significant relevance in contemporary linguistic discourse.

Abstract

The development of relevant and contextual Arabic teaching materials requires the integration of needs analysis, encompassing linguistic, target, situational, and strategic dimensions. This study aims to formulate a strategic framework for developing Arabic teaching materials through a Systematic Literature Review based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, analyzing literature from Scopus, Google Scholar, and DOAJ databases for the period 2016–2025. The synthesis reveals that while needs analysis is recognized as crucial, its implementation remains partial, lacking comprehensive integration of the four dimensions and sufficient adaptation to local wisdom and digital technology. This study proposes an evidence-based integrative strategic model to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of Arabic language learning in Indonesia, emphasizing local context adaptation, digital media utilization, and diverse learning activities. These findings provide practical guidance for educators and curriculum developers to design teaching materials responsive to learners’ needs.

Abstract

This study uses a quantitative approach with the Pre-Experimental method, involving all 32 students of Class XI in 2024 as the research population. Data collection was carried out through tests and documentation, while data analysis used descriptive and inferential methods. The results of the Independent Samples Test statistical test showed that the Mubasyarah method was significantly more effective than conventional learning methods. Students who studied with the Mubasyarah method obtained higher average scores in the skills of maharah kalam (speaking) and maharah istima' (listening), with smaller variations in values, indicating better consistency in learning outcomes. Overall, this study proves that the Mubasyarah method is able to improve students' understanding of the material and learning outcomes in Arabic language skills more optimally than conventional methods. The implications of this study open up opportunities for further research to explore the effectiveness of the Mubasyarah method in developing other Arabic language skills, such as maharah qira'ah (reading) and maharah kitabah (writing), in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of this method on Arabic language learning as a whole.

Abstract

This study discusses the process of language acquisition in children by highlighting the conceptual differences between language acquisition and language learning according to key figures such as Stephen Krashen, B.F. Skinner, and Noam Chomsky. The purpose of this study is to describe the stages of children's language development and explain how the theories of behaviorism and innateness explain the mechanisms by which children acquire their first and second languages. The study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, which collects data from journals, articles, and academic works related to second language acquisition in children. The results show that language acquisition occurs naturally and subconsciously through intensive interaction with the environment, while language learning is formal and conscious in the classroom context. Skinner's theory emphasizes the role of stimulus-response and habituation in the formation of verbal behavior, while Chomsky emphasizes the existence of the Language Acquisition Device (LAD) as an innate device that processes linguistic input into language rules. This study concludes that informal environments rich in verbal interaction, especially within the family, play a dominant role in the success of children's language acquisition, while formal educational environments strengthen aspects of awareness and mastery of language structures.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that the Arabic language teaching and learning process, especially Arabic reading and writing skills, is still low, due to the background of each individual. By overcoming these problems, teaching materials were selected, namely, the mustaqilli basics book, with the aim of finding out the effect of using the mustaqilli basics book 1 on the Arabic reading and writing skills of MTs DDI Ainus Syamsi Makassar students. This research is experimental research with a positivistic, quantitative approach. The research design is a pretest-posttest control group. The research population was 45 people and the sample was determined to be 35 people. The instrument used is a test which is analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis. The research results show the effect of using the Mustaqilli Basics 1 book on students’ Arabic reading and writing skills in the experimental class and control class at Mts DDI Ainus Syamsi Makassar, by testing the hypothesis using an independent simple test to make decisions. So, a sig value of 0.000 <0.05 is obtained. Therefore, it is stated that H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected. The effect of using the Mustaqilli Basics 1 book on the Arabic writing skills of students in the experimental class and control class at Mts DDI Ainus Syamsi Makassar, obtained a sig value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, it is stated that H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected.

Abstract

Social phenomena in the world of education demonstrate that learning Arabic not only serves as a means of religious communication but also plays a significant role in shaping a positive learning environment, fostering positive behavior, and supporting the development of a character-based society. In Islamic educational settings, Arabic becomes a vehicle for instilling moral, spiritual, and social values ​​that align with the vision of religious schools and the student profile in Banchalasia. This study aims to analyze the role of Arabic language learning in creating a positive environment, promoting ethics, and contributing to the development of national character. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using library research methods. Data was obtained from primary sources such as textbooks, learning units, educational documents, and scholarly articles, as well as secondary sources such as journals, transcripts, and previous studies. Data collection techniques were implemented through documentation studies, followed by content analysis techniques involving summarization, presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study demonstrates that learning Arabic significantly contributes to building a character-based school environment, which is reflected in the school's vision and mission of developing noble character and enhancing the student profile in Banchalasia. Learning Arabic also contributes to shaping students' character through the use of polite conversation and idiomatic expression exercises that enhance precision. These findings align with previous research that portrays Arabic as a vehicle for cultivating noble morals and Islamic character. Furthermore, learning Arabic supports students' participation in global networks, including through the ASEAN-Middle East Business Forum and educational cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. Overall, Arabic forms a crucial foundation for building a generation with a strong character and a global perspective, contributing to the development of a dignified nation..

Abstract

The study of Qur’anic vocabulary constitutes an important entry point for understanding the precise meanings of the Noble Text, as every word in the Qur’an carries specific semantic nuances that harmonize with the general context and intended meaning. This research aims to examine the word (qāla / “said”) and its derivatives in Sūrat al-Baqarah through a semantic analysis, in order to reveal its expressive dimensions and contextual functions in meaning construction. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical method based on tracing the occurrences of the word in the sūrah and analyzing its various contexts, while clarifying the semantic functions it performs, which range from statement and dialogue to challenge, persuasion, and threat. The findings indicate that the repetition of the word (qāla) in Sūrat al-Baqarah is not merely lexical repetition; rather, it is governed by a precise contextual framework that serves the overarching objectives of the sūrah, such as clarifying humanity’s stance toward revelation, presenting the attitudes of the Children of Israel, and highlighting the wisdom of divine discourse. The study also demonstrates that the word contributes to emphasizing the contrast between the true divine utterance and the limited human speech, thereby deepening the rhetorical and semantic dimensions of the Qur’anic text. The study concludes that analyzing Qur’anic vocabulary in light of its contextual meanings is one of the most effective approaches to understanding the rhetorical miracle of the Holy Qur’an, and that the word (qāla) in Sūrat al-Baqarah represents a clear model of the diversity of Qur’anic discourse and its rich semantic depth.
