Abstract

It has been conducted a research where that aim is to describe the influence of the guided inquiry learning process with the scientific approach on the learning outcomes of and scientific attitudes of student. The population in this study is all students of class X SMA Negeri 9 Palu with academic year 2014/2015. The purposive sampling is used for sampling technique where class XA as an experimental class and class B as a control class. The research design used is the pretest-posttest control group design. Statistical test used is the Mann-Whitney U-Test. Based on the analysis of the calculation of the value of <g>, there is an improvement on learning outcomes of student in the experimental class compared to the control class. Based on statistical test, it is showed that Zcalculation<Ztable at significant level of 0.05, which means that the guided inquiry in chemistry learning through scientific approach gives a significant effect on learning outcomes and scientific attitudes of student in class X SMA Negeri 9 Palu on electrolyte and on-electrolytes solution topic.

Abstract

This research is about influence of brain based learning (BBL) toward critical thinking skill and student’s learning achievement at grade XI IPA SMA Negeri 9 Palu in acid base solution concept. The method is quasy experiment with design of pretest-posttest control group design. The technic of analysis used nonparametric statistical method mann whitney U-test. The sample of this research was class XI IPA 1 as experiment group and class XI IPA 3 as control, which choosen by purposive sampling technic. Analysed found, sig.2-tailed (0,000) < 0,05 has significant difference of critical thinking skill, learning achievement of experiment and control gruop. Result of Test <g> were improved of critical thinking skill and student’s learning achievement in experiment group more high than control group. The conclusion of this research was brain based learning (BBL) has influential to improved critical thinking skill, student’s learning skill at grade XI IPA SMA Negeri 9 Palu in acid base solution concept.

Abstract

The research aimed at investigating the effect of model of cooperative learning Type jigsaw, academic ability of student, and interaction between learning model with the level of academic ability, on the cognitive learning outcomes of student. The method used is quasi-experimental pretest-posttest 2 x 2 factorial pattern. The research sample is determined with random sampling. The class selected as the research sample was class XI IPA 1, XI IPA 3, XI IPA 6, and XI IPA 7. The data was collected by using the cognitive achievement test typical the multiple choice Data obtained was the primary data, which directly analyzed descriptively and analysis of covariance. Results of the data analysis at significance level α = 0.05 is as follow: (1) the cognitive learning outcomes of student that were learned by the model of cooperative learning type jigsaw (mean = 82.22) was higher than the cognitive learning outcomes of student that were learned with the conventional learning (mean = 73.56) with a significance value of 0.000. (2) The cognitive learning outcomes of student who have the high level academic ability (mean = 85.10) was higher than the cognitive learning outcomes of student who have lower level of academic ability (mean = 72.36) with a significance value of 0.000. (3) There is an interaction effect between the model of cooperative learning with the academic abilitywith the significance value of 0.002 was obtained in this case. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that: The model of cooperative learning type jigsaw, the academic ability, and the interaction between the model of cooperative learning with the academic ability effect on the cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Green open space ( RTH ) city from year to year has declined significantly , resulting in wide open space from year to year is narrowed . The purpose of this study was to identify available of green space in the city of Palu , to know necessity of green space based on width area and number of population in palu, and to formulate the direction of green space developing in Palu. The Methods that used in this research is Maximum Likelihood Classification (MLC) methods. The image that used was captured from landsat TM 7 year 2009 and 2013. Both processed with Arc GIS 10 and ER Mapper 12 software. The result from five category of land use/cover during 2009 and 2013 is built area increased 36 %, open land increase 74 %, Agricultural green space increase 10 %, other green space decrease 22 %, and water body decrease 40 %. Green open space in Palu needs to develop new concept of green open space, plant tree species that can absorb polution, formulate the direction of green open spaces developing, and make a rule of law about how to manage green open space developing in Palu City.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the characteristics social economic fisherman families in Pasangkayu Subdistrict and analyze the effect of social economic factors (household income, the price of fish, the price of substitute goods, level of education, total of familiy responsibilities and the age of respondens) fisherman families toward fish consumption in Pasangkayu Subdistrict Mamuju Utara Regency. This study conducted in pasangkayu Subdistrict Mamuju Utara Regency West Sulawesi on June-August 2014. The total samples in this study were 74 families, selected by using proportional stratified random sampling method. The obtained data were analyzed using multiple linier regression analysis (SPSS versi 21) and tested with the classical assumption. Descriptif analysis using the average and percentage indicate that social economic factors of fiherman families has a strong category. Research result show that simultaneously social economic factors fisherman families significantly affect on fish consumption in Pasangkayu Subdistrict Mamuju Utara Regency, partially varialbe household income of fisherman families, fish price, chicken price, egg price, age of respondents and total of family responsibilities are significant effect on fish consumption in Pasangkayu Subdistrict Mamuju Utara Regency.

Abstract

This study was descriptif research, to be known the teacher skills for implementing thematic learning at SDN Impres 1 Tanamodindi Palu. The data collecting by instrument: instructional observation, validity of lessons plan, observation of PAIKEM, and student’s satisfaction. The result of this study showed the skills of instructional teacher had good category (69.89%). Only two teachers had excellent category (76 and 78%). The documents of lessons plan in good category (69.14%). The teacher skills to implementing PAIKEM got a good category (68.89%), but only one teacher had a little bit good category (87.78%). The student’s satisfaction had very good category its 3.00%. Base on the study finding, it can be concluded that the sixth of teacher hope to be still improve their skills for hopefully professional teacher.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the students' motivation during the implementation of guided inquiry strategy onlearning of Science, and to describe improving learning achievement of students after the implementation of guided inquiry strategy on learning of Science in the Class VI at SDN 15 Palu, The method used was the classroom action research, implemented at SDN 15 Palu school year 2014/2015 in the Class VI consisted of 26 students. This study was conducted over two cycles. Each cycle included of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were qualitative collected through observation techniques, and quantitative obtained by giving a test at the end of each cycle. Results of the study showed that the implementation of guided inquiry strategy improved effectively learning achievement of students in the Class VI at SDN 15 Palu. Improving learning achievement was demonstrated by the acquisition of their learning achievement sat the first cycle as follows: the percentage of individual absorption was good average, the percentage of classical completeness was good average, and the percentage of classical absorption was good average. Those were increased at the second cycle: the percentage of individual absorption was very good average, the percentage of classical completeness was very good average, and the percentage of classical absorption was still good average, respectively. Activities of the teacher at the first cycle was good average, and at the second cycle was very good average. Activitiesof students at the first cycle was good average, and increased at the second cycle into a very good average. The use of guided inquiry strategy improved student’s motivation. Improving student’s motivation was indicated by increasing motivation with a good average at the first cycle to a very good average at the second cycle. This study concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry strategy improved motivation and learning achievement of students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the student’s interest and critical thinking skills of the twelfth grade students of IPA at SMAN 1 Sindue through the application of problem based learning and project based learning. The study was conducted using an experimental method of pre-experimental design used one shot case study. The samples of this study were 34 students of class XII IPA 1 and 34 students of class XII IPA 2. The instrument used was student’s questionnaire test, assessment sheets of critical thinking, and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, the results are: through the application of problem-based learning and project-based learning of the twelfth grade students of SMAN 1 Sindue the student’s interest in learning was categorized as high. This is supported by the results of the research. There is no significant difference between the students' interestt who taught by using problem-based learning and project based learning. Both learning models are effectively contributes to increase student’s critical thinking skills with the result that there are significant differences between students' critical thinking skills of the twelfth grade students of IPA 1 and IPA 2 although both the mentioned group was categorized in the level of critical thinking.

Abstract

The research aims at developing Natural Science Subject Instructional packages of year XI Semester 1 SMK Negeri 5 Palu by employing Dick, Carey & Carey Model. The research employed Research Development (R&D) design. The instructional package drafts that have been previously developed were validated by a content expert, a design expert, and a media expert. The revised version of the packages were tried out into three different subjects; individual, small group, and big group which contained 25 students and 1 teacher. Questionnaire designed in Likert Scale was used as the instrument of data collection. Suggestion, input and comment during consultation period were also noted and used to compliment the collected data from the questionnaire. The results of the data analysis show that 1) the instructional materials product score ranges from 81.33% to 83.80% indicating that the instructional material is classified Good and Very Good, 2) the teacher’s book product score ranges from 80.00% to 91.25% indicating that the teacher’s book is classified Good and Very Good, 3) the student’s book product score ranges from 80.00% to 94.67% indicating that the student’s book is classified Good and Very Good. Based on Kuswadi’s argument (in Sudarman, 2006) if the developed instructional packages scored higher than 71%, the products are ready and valid to be used. The achievement of the students, between the pretest and the posttest, during the instructional materials try out is different significantly calculated by applying t-test formula. It implies that the instructional packages have been valid and ready to be used.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the second semester the SDN Negeri.2 Labuan school year 2013/2014. Problems in research is (1) whether there is a revision component in the development of lesson plan, teacher reference books, through 4D models in the discussion of damage to the natural environment learning model jigsaw The Elementary School fifth grade students Labuan?; (2) What factors are revised in the development of lesson plans, teacher reference books, by using 4D procedure in the discussion of damage to the natural environment through the model jigsaw in Elementary School fifth grade students Labuan?: This research purposes determine the components in the learning device gets priority for repair or revised so understanding the concept of matter damage to the natural environment in the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Labuan can be increased. This type of research is the development of research, concluded that the lesson plan well designed and using the right approach will be very effective in improving outcomes and learning activities of students.
