Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of source and concentration of natural PGR on growth and yield of shallot Lembah Palu variety and interaction between these factors. This research was conducted from May to August 2019 in Sidera Village, Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, and used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the different sources of natural PGR (J) consisting of 2 (two) treatments: J1 (coconut water) and J2 (moringa leaf extract). The second factor was the concentration of PGR (K) consisting of 5 (five) levels: K1 (20%), K2 (40%), K3 (60%), K4 (80%), and K5 (100%). Data were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by a DMRT test 5%. The results showed that there was an interaction between the source and concentration of PGR number of tillers at age 45 DAP, the number of tubers per clump, and the fresh weight of tubers per clump. Coconut water with a concentrate of 40% was the treatment that provided the highest result. Source of PGR had a statistically significant effect on fresh and dry leaves at age 15 DAP, total fresh and dry weight at age 15 DAP, and total leaf area per plant at age 15 DAP. Coconut water was the treatment that provided the highest result. The concentration of PGR had a significant effect on fresh leaf weight and total fresh weight per plant at age 25 DAP. Concentrate 20% was the treatment that provided the best result.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of various kind of fertilizers (biological fertilizer, biological fertilizer + chicken manure, chicken manure, NPK and manure goat) on the growth of peanut plants (Arachis hypogaea L.) in the Entisols soil at Tondo Village. This study was conducted in April to July 2015 in the Tondo Village. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) a factor of 6 (six) treatment using the controls, biological fertilizer, biofertilizer + chicken manure, chicken manure, NPK fertilizer, and manure goat repeated 3 times so that the number of treatment tested a total of 18 plots. Results of this study shows that the use of organic and anorganic fertilizers have an effect on height of peanut plant and number of leaves when compared with controls. Where the provision of all types of organic and inorganic fertilizer (manure goat, NPK fertilizer, chicken manure, combined with the biofertilizer, chicken manure, and fertilizer biological) effect on the height and number of leaves peanuts. These results are consistent with the measurement of the dry weight of seeds, dry weight of brangkasan, P-total soil, total P-Plant and soil microbes. It is also found that biofertilizer combined chicken manure showed the highest performance. In addition, researchers also believe that the use of biological fertilizers and manure have an impact on the environment better because it can improve soil structure over the long term.

Abstract

Production of anthocyanin maltodextrin coating from roselle’s petals (Hibiscus Sabdariffa,L.) and application in processing functional food has been investigated. The objective’s of research were : (1) To find out extract ratio of roselle’s petals to maltodextrin which is produce anthocyanin maltodekstrin coating which has a high degree of purity and stability. (2) To find out the concentration of anthocyanin maltodextrin coaty in seaweed syrup which was produced syrup with organoleptic properties. Design of this research used one factor complete random design and group random design one factor complete random design to applied in handling influence of anthocyanin dark extract ratio of roselle’s petals to maltodextrin (v/b) (1:1; 2:1; 3:1; 4:1; and 5:1) and group random design applied in organoleptic test of functional seaweed syrup which added by various concentration of coated anthocyanin maltodextrin about (g/100 mL) (0.125; 0.25; 0.375; 0.5 and 0.625) anthocyanin and tested by 30 untrained panelist. Total analysis of coated anthocyanin maltodextrin conducted every 1 week for 8 weeks starting at week 0 using spektrofotometer UV-VIS method at 535 nm wavelength. The result of the influence of coated anthocyanin maltodextrin ratio showed anthocyanin number (highest), degree of purity (highest), and the smallest decrease in retention during storage was ratio 5:1 (v/b), then with this ratio 5:1 conducted prediction of shelf life or expiration period using kinetics reaction model, so that expiration period of coated anthocyanin maltodextrin is 28 weeks. For the best organoleptik quality of functional seaweed syrup consistently is application of coated anthocyanin maltodekstrin with anthocyanin concentration is 0,625 g/100 mL.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences between MFI learning model based on real and virtual laboratory on the subject of reaction toward the students outcomes of chemical learning at SMAN 1 Pasangkayu. The sample consisted of two classes of grade XI IPA 5 which was 29 people as an experimental class I and grade XI IPA 6 which was 29 people as an experimental class II determined Cluster Random Sampling. Data was collected using test instruments such as achievement test. The research data used statistical analysis t-test (Independent Sample Test) with the prerequisite test was a normality and homogeneity test. The average score of the students outcomes of chemical learning by using MFI model based on real laboratory was 73.01 and the average score of the outcomes of students chemical learning by using MFI model based on virtual laboratory was 80.52. Based on statistical analysis with t-test hypotheses obtained value |tcount| = 3.833 and it was located in the region of rejection of H0 between -2.003 and 2.003. These results indicate that there was a difference between MFI learning model based on real and virtual laboratory on the subject of reaction rate toward the students outcomes of chemical learning at SMAN 1 Pasangkayu.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the science learning by using science kit which is integrated to the hands on method at Year VB Elementary School SDN Model Terpadu Madani Palu. The learning was focused on main material subject of optics kits. The instruments which used on this study ; Lesson Plans, observation sheet s for teacher and student’s activities, observation sheets of Hand on and Minds on for student, pretest and posttest for action on each cycle. The results showed on cycle I, the student’s score on Mind on was 53,93 with classical average 2.45 or “start to see” with the percent of 61,28 which categorized as “good enough”. On Cycle II, the score was 79,43, average 3,61 or “ to be use to” with the percent of 90,18 which categorized as “very good”. Student’s Hand on, at Cycle I, the score was 57,27, average 2,60 or “ develop” and it was done at 65,10% and categorized as good enough whereas the cycle II showed score 78,43 average 3,56 or “ to be use to” and done at 89,13 % (very good). Teacher’s activity score on cycle I was 63, average 3,32, done 82,89% (good) and student’s activity score 75,93, average 3.45 and done 86,28% (good). Whereas on cycle II, Teacher’s activity score 70, average 3,68, done 92,90 % (very good) and student’s activity score, 82,64 (good), average 3,76, and done 93,90% (very good). For the test result of pre-action was 1633, the classical average 74, Classical absorption 74,22%, the classical complete up to 50%. On cycle I , 1836 score, classical average 83, classical absorption 83,45%, classical complete 7,27%, on cycle II, 1887 score, average 86, classical absorption 87,77 %, classical complete was 90,90%. It can be concluded that science learning by using science kit integrated to the hands on method can improve the student’s mind on at year VB Elementary school SDN Model Terpadu madani Palu.

Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the influence of factors in line with land area factor, seed, Urea fertilizer, Phonska fertilizer, Seprit fertilizer and labours toward the production of rice field cultivated with System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method at Lero Tataro Village, Sindue district, Donggala regency. The 40 respondents were taken through census method. A multiple linier regression was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the independent variable (Xi) gave a big influence toward the dependent variable (Y). The coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.979 which means that 98 percent of the variations of rice field’s production can be explained by the variable of land area (X1), seed (X2), Urea fertilizer (X3), Phonska fertilizer (X4), Seprit fertilizer (X5), and the labour (X6). The other 2 percent was explained out of the model. It can be said that farm production through System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method at Lero Tatari village were obviously influenced by the land area, seed, Urea fertilizer, Phonska fertilizer, Seprit fertilizer, and labours. The income of farm production using System of Rice Intensification (SRI) Method at Lero Tatari, Sindue district was Rp. 13.023.005.88/0.76 ha, or Rp. 17.079.351.97/ha.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the improvement of science process skills and understanding concepts among students who took Children's Learning in Science (CLIS) and conventional learning model. The research used quasi-experimental: pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of research were 30 students from Grade VIIIA and 30 students from Grade VIIIB of SMP Negeri 5 Marawola in academic year 2013/2014. The two groups were determined through cluster random sampling. Data were collected by using science process skills test, conceptual understanding test and questionnaire of students' responses on CLIS learning model. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The average N-gain of science process skill gain for both experimental and control group were in moderate category. The average N-gain of conceptual understanding for the experimental group were in moderate category and the control group were in low category. Based on the significance analysis, it could be obtained that for α = 0,05: 1) there is a difference of students’ science process skills between the experimental group and the control group (tcount.>ttable); 2) there is no difference students’ conceptual understanding of the experimental group and the control group (tcount.<ttable); and 3) there is a correlation between students’ science process skills and conceptual understanding (rcount.>rtable). Results of analysis of questionnaires showed that almost entirely students expressed that they were happy and motivated to get an active role in CLIS learning. Thus CLIS learning could improve science process skills and conceptual understanding of vibrations and waves. The learning model could provide a positive stimulus to students to learn physics.

Abstract

This research aims at identifying the income and the strategy of the development of seaweed farming in Ungkea Village Petasia Timur Sub-district Morowali Utara Regency. This research was applied through descriptive method and used qualitative approach. The setting of this research was determined purposively considering that Morowali Utara is one of area in Central Sulawesi Province that has seaweed farming. The sampples were taken through census method where the populations werw 44 respondents of seaweed farming. The data analysis used used is income and SWOT. The result of this research showed that the total cost avarage (TC) of seaweed farming in one period is consisting of permanent cost (FC) and variable cost (VC) is Rp 11.957.419,07 The total productions is 4.314 kg/432 expanses of 25m with selling price of Rp 9.000/kg then the farming obtained the avarage income of Rp 38.834.018 and net income about Rp 26.876.599,11. The cultivation of sea product of Eucheuma cattonii based on the calculation of R/C with ratio of 3.25>1, showed that this kind of business is worthy to be developed. The result of SWOT analysis revealed that this kind of business is in position of quadrant II that support the strategy of diversification with streagth-threats. The strategy of strength-threats (ST) maximizing the natural resources capacity in managing seaweed farming buseness and preventing various exist threats such as: climate change that caused pests and diseases in the seaweed. The involvement of the government through some programs pupports the management of fisheries sector as in business of seaweed farming that innovatively maximum and sustainable. Finally it improved the income and the welfare of the society in the coast of Morowali Utara Regency.

Abstract

The study aimed, to describe the difference of students’ learning outcomes of (1) cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) and direct instruction on biology subject, (2) describe the different of critical thinking high level and the lowest by student learning outcomes. This study using quasi experiment. All students in grade 10 who enrolled 2013-2014 would become research subject. The sample of this research consisted of two classes: X MIA5 and X MIA6. The results showed that the comparison between the two learning models can be seen with the magnitude of the significant probability value < 0.05. There is also a difference between the learning outcomes of students who have highest critical thinking skills with students who have the lowest, where the average of each value 55.63 and 38.42 or significant probability value < = 0.05. It could be concluded, that the student who have the highest critical-thinking skills were taught by using both learning models was better learning-outcomes than the lowest.

Abstract

Uncomplete assessing of materials abstract in learning of chemistry will lead to students on experiencing misconceptions as a result of the wrong internalization. This study aimed to analyze the positive effect and significance of the direct instruction learning based on animation to wards students’ conceptions of chemical bonding in the Grade X at SMAN 1 Dondo Tolitoli. This study applied a quasi-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. Samples were 29 students determined by purposive sampling. The independent variable in this studywas the direct instruction learning, while the dependent variable was the students' conceptions. The data acquisition instrument was in the form of a diagnostic test consisted of 20 multiple-choice questions and reasons using Certainty of Response Index (CRI). Data was analyzed using t-test two sample pairs. Hypothesis test results obtained –taccount (-16.37) <-ttable (-2.05) at significance level of 5%. This study concluded that there is a significant effect positively of direct instruction learning based onanimation to improvestudents’ conceptions in the Grade X at SMAN 1 Dondo Tolitoli, with the effect size d = 2.8 or with a relatively large level of effectiveness.
