The introduction of technology has brought about considerable changes in consumer shopping habits, particularly with the advent of e-commerce platforms. E-commerce has transformed the manner in which consumers shop by offering increased flexibility, convenience, and ease of use. However, to sustain and enhance customer loyalty, it is necessary to understand the factors that affect consumer behavior when using e-commerce. This study aimed to elucidate the impact of e-service quality and customer trust on the behavior of Zalora users. The quantitative research was designed by distributing online questionnaires to respondents, namely, individuals who used Zalora in Yogyakarta through the social media Instagram, Line, and WhatsApp. A total of 200 respondents were included in the research sample, and all the data obtained were tabulated and analyzed using SEM-AMOS with a significance level of 95% (p <0.05). The results indicated that e-service quality significantly affects repurchase intentions (p = 0.005) and site revisits (p = 0.047). Additionally, customer trust has a significant effect on WOM (p = 0.000), and WOM significantly impacts repurchase intentions (p = 0.000) and site revisits (p = 0.000). Furthermore, e-service quality significantly affects Customer Trust (p = 0.000). However, e-service quality does not directly affect customers' positive recommendations. Additionally, customer trust has a positive impact on customers' positive recommendations but has no direct effect on repeat purchases. Therefore, e-service quality and trust have direct and indirect influences on Zalora user behavior in Yogyakarta

Abstract

Due to the recent transition of moving from a brick-and-mortar type of business to an online business by Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs), Covid 19 was seen as a major driver of this transition worldwide. The majority of SMBs find themselves vulnerable and lost in the middle of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) implementation. The advanced virtual reality (E-business) of running a business should be given a high priority to ensure that the SMB owners concerning STI are well trained and uplifted. This skill is needed for the betterment of their businesses. STI has been given a lot of attention in the education sector and the business arena has less or no attention specifically in South Africa. A lack of resources, e-skills, and fear of collaborating with big businesses encourages the researcher to conduct this study. This article endeavours to review the literature on the merging of STI as a strategy to enhance SMBs in South Africa. The review’s focus is on books, peer-reviewed articles, and conference papers between the years 2014 and 2023. Furthermore, this article will conclude by recommending that the collaboration between various business stakeholders and government, particularly, the Department of Science and Technology be encouraged to empower SMBs.

Abstract

Users of financial statements use earnings as one of the important benchmarks that attract external attention when assessing company performance. Some literature on corporate governance has focused on how CEO characteristics influence decisions, including those in earnings management. This study aims to test whether a narcissistic CEO and high free cash flow will motivate management to perform earnings management with financial performance as a mediating variable. This type of research is explanatory, using purposive sampling techniques in selecting samples. The samples in this study were 44 financial or banking service companies that have been listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2020–2022, for a total of 132 observations. The results showed that CEO narcissism can affect earnings management practices, while free cash flow does not affect earnings management. Furthermore, CEO narcissism affects financial performance, while free cash flow cannot affect financial performance. Then, financial performance has no effect on earnings management, and financial performance can mediate the relationship between CEO narcissism and earnings management but is unable to mediate the effect between free cash flow and earnings management.

Abstract

The existence of digital banks today is a real need amidst the development of information technology and banking services which must be able to cover all levels of society. These banking services mainly consist of credit granting to the public. This research aims to analyze the extent to which the know-your-customer principle and the prudential banking principle are implemented for digital banks in credit granting. This research is normative juridical, using secondary data comprising primary legal materials in the form of statutory regulations, and secondary legal materials in the form of books, literature and academic journals. The research results show that know-your-customer principle and prudential banking principle that apply to commercial banks also apply to digital banks. However, there are no specific regulations for digital banks that regulate those, especially for lending activities that are full of risk. The research results also show that there are disparities in the application of know-your-customer and prudential banking principles by digital banks. It is recommended for the Financial Service Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK) to regulate and supervise digital bank activities more intensively, especially in credit granting.
