Abstract

In Arabic language learning at school, the role of the teacher in delivering and presenting the materials to be taught has a significant influence on students' learning outcomes. Factors contributing to weak Arabic vocabulary mastery include difficulties in memorizing vocabulary due to students' reliance solely on school-based learning, lack of interest and motivation for learning, memorizing, and recalling Arabic vocabulary, as well as students' school backgrounds without Arabic language subjects. Therefore, it is necessary to employ engaging teaching methods or media to deliver the material to students. This research aims to develop, assess the feasibility, and evaluate the attractiveness of Arabic vocabulary learning material based on Sparkol Videoscribe media. This study is a developmental research that utilizes the ADDIE model, which emphasizes the analysis of how each component interacts coordinatively with the existing phases. The research was conducted at Daarul Ilmi Integrated Islamic Junior High School in Bandar Lampung in November 2022. The developed media has been proven suitable for use, with material expert validation results of 76% or deemed suitable, media expert validation results of 78% or deemed suitable, and educator validation results of 88% or highly suitable. Based on the trial results conducted to determine the attractiveness of Sparkol Videoscribe-based learning media in Arabic language classes for eighth graders, it obtained a score of 86% in small group trials and 89% in large group trials, categorizing it as highly attractive. Thus, the results of Sparkol Videoscribe-based learning media are attractive for student use and can facilitate the mastery of Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

This study aims to implement and explore the use of pictorial puzzle media in enhancing students' Arabic vocabulary mastery. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in 2 cycles, with each stage consisting of four steps: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instruments used were student observation sheets and test results. From the preliminary study conducted on 13 students, only 3 students achieved the minimum mastery criteria, while 10 students did not, with an average score of only 69.7, whereas the minimum mastery criteria at Madrasah Nurul Hikmah is 75, indicating that the students' scores were still below the minimum mastery criteria. The research results after implementing pictorial puzzle media showed an increase in the Arabic vocabulary mastery of class V students at Madrasah Nurul Hikmah Bandar Lampung. This was evidenced by the increase in the average scores of students, which rose from 69.7 in the pre-cycle to 74.6 in cycle I and 88.5 in cycle II. The regular use of pictorial puzzle media can enhance students' ability to master Arabic vocabulary. This indicates that this method can be an effective solution for improving Arabic language learning in Madrasahs, and provides evidence that using visual approaches can greatly aid in improving students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of digital literacy-based learning strategies in Arabic vocabulary (mufrodat) education, aiming to enhance students' comprehension and proficiency. Despite its potential, several challenges impede effective application, including limited access to technology and infrastructure, inadequate digital literacy skills, insufficient authentic assessment methods, and lack of support and guidance from educators. To address these challenges, this study recommends improving technological access and infrastructure, enhancing digital literacy skills through targeted training and workshops, developing authentic assessment methods, and providing comprehensive support and guidance for teachers. The implementation of these solutions necessitates collaboration among government bodies, educational institutions, teachers, and students. This research significantly contributes to the field of Arabic language education by integrating digital literacy, thereby enhancing the overall quality of education. The findings provide valuable insights for educators in designing effective learning strategies, for policymakers in formulating supportive educational policies, and for researchers in conducting further studies on digital literacy and Arabic language learning. The study underscores the importance of digital literacy in modern education and its role in fostering improved learning outcomes.

Abstract

The Lampung language, a regional language rich in cultural and historical significance, has seen a significant decline in usage among younger generations, primarily due to the influences of globalization and the increasing dominance of national and international languages. This study aims to thoroughly identify and analyze the challenges faced in teaching the Lampung language at the elementary school level (SDN), focusing on SDN 1 Tanjungsari Lampung Selatan. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research investigates both internal factors, such as curriculum design and teaching methodologies, and external factors, including parental and community support. The findings reveal several key challenges: the limited availability of engaging teaching materials, inadequate teacher training, and low student interest in learning the Lampung language. To address these issues, the study suggests developing interactive digital teaching resources and enhancing teacher training programs to improve pedagogical competencies. Furthermore, integrating technology and incorporating local cultural elements into the teaching process can potentially boost student interest and engagement. This approach not only aligns with modern educational practices but also promotes a deeper appreciation of local heritage. Ultimately, this research aims to contribute to the preservation efforts of the Lampung language, ensuring its continued relevance and vitality as an integral part of Indonesia's rich cultural tapestry. Through strategic educational interventions, the study hopes to inspire greater interest and participation among the younger generation, thereby safeguarding the linguistic and cultural legacy of the Lampung people.

Abstract

This study investigates the interest of students in learning French as part of the extracurricular foreign language program at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro. Utilizing a quantitative approach with a survey method, data were collected from 25 students through a Likert-scale questionnaire covering ten key aspects influencing their interest. The results indicate that 56% of students are highly motivated, and 72% express strong liking towards learning French. Additionally, 92% of students recognize the importance of French, with 80% showing high enthusiasm and frequent use of the language. A significant 92% of students oppose the suspension of the program, reflecting its value to them. Furthermore, 68% of students find the material easy to understand, and all students express a strong desire to encourage their peers to join the program. Despite the overall positive findings, challenges remain, with 20% of students feeling less motivated, 28% less active in class, and 20% struggling with comprehension. These results suggest that while the extracurricular French program is successful in engaging students, there are areas needing improvement to enhance its effectiveness. The study provides valuable insights for the development of strategies to further support student interest and participation in learning French.
