Abstract

The government's policy in implementing the New Normal to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has changed all aspects of society, including the family environment. In current conditions, parenting is the most important thing in determining optimal child development (Dewi and Khotimah, 2020). The conditions of parenting and communication in the family have both positive and negative impacts on children's development.  (Kuswanti, Munadhil, Zainal & Oktarina, 2020). The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of information about the COVID-19 pandemic on toddlers’ parenting. This study was a cross-sectional analytical study. This study used a bivariate data analysis with Chi Square test. The findings showed that the p-value was (0.0001) < 0.05, so it could be concluded that there was a significant influence between the received information and toddlers’ parenting. Therefore, it is necessary to have the right information about the COVID-19 pandemic so that mothers can make the right and correct choices about parenting for toddlers.

Abstract

Practical and good communication is the key to carrying out their roles and functions for nurses. An obstacle in communication is the emotional response on the part of nurses. This study aims to acknowledge the effect of nurses' emotional intelligence – which comprises emotional awareness, emotional control, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills – on their communication abilities. Nurses with high emotional intelligence will give meaning to interpersonal relationships by making people feel at ease. The research method used quantitative with a cross-sectional design. The respondent was 96 nurses selected with proportional stratified random sampling method. The data was collected through a questionnaire. The results of multivariate analysis using multiple linear regression analysis statistical tests, obtained the values of ρ = 0.001; R2 = 0.209. Based on statistical test values, it can be concluded that nurses' emotional intelligence – comprising emotional awareness, emotional control, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills – significantly influences the communication skills of nurses at Ruteng Regional General Hospital simultaneously. Having a higher level of emotional intelligence leads to better communication with patients and a better level of health quality. It is expected that leaders and managers of nursing organizations should develop educational programs aimed at increasing the competencies of nurses in emotion control and communication skills.

Abstract

Sectio caesarea is an artificial labor where the fetus was born through an incision in the abdominal wall and the uterus’ wall on the condition of the uterus intact and fetal weight above 500 grams. Labor by Sectio caesarea  causes sores and pain. The presence of wounds and pain causes the mother to be lazy or afraid to mobilize. Early mobilization is a rehabilitative action that is carried out after the patient is awake from anesthesia and after surgery. This study aims to analyze the relationship between early post-sectio caesarea mobilization and the wound healing process of post operative sectio cesaria.  This study used a cross sectional method and the sample was collected as many as 40 respondents using simple random sampling technique. The research data was taken using a questionnaire and then analyzed using the contingency coefficient test. The results showed that almost all of them as many as 35 respondents (87.0%) did early mobilization. The wound healing process of Sectio Caesarea was almost entirely in the good category, namely 35 respondents (87.0%). Contingency coefficient test results obtained = 5%= 0.05, p<α Positive relationship, postpartum mothers often do early mobilization, the better the wound healing. C = 0.611 means a strong relationship level. From the results of these studies, it is necessary to increase the knowledge of post partum mothers about the factors that accelerate the wound healing process of post sectio Caesarea

Abstract

Osteoporosis is defined as a decrease in bone mass and is characterized by an increased risk of fracture due to bone fragility. Prevention of low bone density can be done by optimizing the formation of bone mass at the time of growth, namely the age of 20-35 years. Research on osteoporosis in Jakarta in 2011 on subjects aged 20-25 years, stated that 6.3% had osteoporosis and 51.1% had osteopenia (pre-osteoporosis). The aim of the study was to identify the correlation of caffeine and soft drinks consumption toward bone mineral density status in women of childbearing age. This study was a quantitative analytic study, with a cross sectional research design. The sample was women of childbearing age who were in the work area of Tampan District as many as 399 people. The Chi-Square test showed the effect of caffeine consumption and soft drinks on the status of bone mineral density in women of childbearing age with a P value of 0.000 < Alpha 0.05 with a large OR of 24,330 (95% CI: 10,174- 58.182), meaning that respondents who consumed caffeine and soft drinks were 24 times more likely to suffer from osteoporosis. It is expected for women to avoid risk factors that can cause a decrease in bone mineral density and perform early detection of osteoporosis before the age of 30 years.

Abstract

Menstrual pain is a condition that bothers most women regardless of age, with the highest percentage being in their teens. Menstrual pain is categorized into mild, moderate, severe and very severe pain. Women who experience menstrual pain can interfere with their activities ranging from daily activities, school to work. One way to reduce menstrual pain non-pharmacologically is to use acupressure. This study aimed to determine the effect of acupressure on menstrual pain in adolescents. This was a literature Review with Systematic Mapping Study (Scoping Study) design. This study used journals published in the last 5 years. The ten journals used were obtained from the Google Schoolar, PubMed and Sciencedirect databases. The journals obtained had passed the selection based on the year of publication, the suitability of the title with keywords, the feasibility of the journal, the ability to access, duplication and inclusion criteria. The journal was then analyzed using the instrument of presenting the results of a literature review. The most widely used acupressure point was sanyinjiao (Sp 6) by pressing or massaging. The intensity of menstrual pain after being given acupressure was decreased, the average pain intensity decreased between before and after being given acupressure starting from a scale of 0.86 to 6.7. The results of the analysis of all journals show P value < a, which meant that there was a significant effect of giving acupressure on decreasing the intensity of menstrual pain in adolescents. Giving acupressure by pressing or massaging certain meridians can increase the levels of endorphins that are useful for reducing the intensity of menstrual pain in adolescents. Education about proper massage techniques will help reduce the level of pain that occurs during menstruation.

Abstract

Indonesia is being the COVID-19 pandemic, where the number of patient deaths has increased. Some reports mention side effects on the fetus in the form of preterm delivery, fetal distress but there is no evidence that COVID-19 infection can pass the transplacental route to the baby. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the level of anxiety and the behavior of preventing transmission of the Covid-19 virus in pregnant women at the Jaya Kusuma Husada Clinic, Kepanjen Malang. This study used descriptive-analytic research with a cross-sectional study design. The population was pregnant women at the Jaya Kusuma Husada Clinic, Kepanjen on January 2021 with a sample of pregnant women using purposive sampling technique with a total of 53 pregnant women as respondents. The independent variable in this study was anxiety. The dependent variable in this study was the behavior of preventing the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The results of the Spearman Rank statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.090 (sig< 0.050), which meant that there was a negative correlation between the level of anxiety and the health behavior of pregnant women in the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused increased anxiety among pregnant women. Anxiety about the risk of contracting COVID-19 encourages pregnant women to take steps to prevent transmission of COVID-19. Pregnant women and the public are expected to follow health protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 for themselves, their families and the surrounding community.
