Abstract

The code of ethics is a moral and ethical standard that must be followed by members of the Indonesian National Police in carrying out their duties. This article discusses the role and impact of the code of ethics on members of the Indonesian National Police who commit crimes. In a legal environment, the code of ethics serves as a guideline for behavior that ensures that members of the Indonesian National Police act in accordance with the values of justice, professionalism, and integrity. When members of the Indonesian National Police violate this code of ethics, they face not only legal consequences, but also internal sanctions that can include reprimands, demotions, and even dismissal. This article also explores how enforcing the code of ethics can strengthen public trust in the police institution and prevent abuse of authority. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to analyze various examples of violations of the code of ethics committed by members of the Indonesian National Police and how the police institution handles these violations. The results of the study indicate that the application of a firm and consistent code of ethics is a key factor in maintaining discipline and professionalism within the Indonesian National Police, as well as in improving the institution's image in the eyes of the public. In conclusion, the code of ethics not only functions as a supervisory tool, but also as a vital moral foundation for maintaining integrity and trust in law enforcement in Indonesia.

Abstract

The implementation of restorative justice in handling criminal acts of abuse in Aceh Besar based on Aceh Qanun Number 9 of 2008 is an effort to integrate local values with a modern approach to law enforcement. This Qanun provides a legal framework for the Acehnese people to resolve criminal conflicts through customary mechanisms that emphasize reconciliation, restoring relationships between perpetrators and victims, and community involvement in the resolution process. This article explores how restorative justice is applied in cases of abuse in Aceh Besar, focusing on the role of customary institutions in mediation and conflict resolution. Through a qualitative analysis of several cases of abuse, it was found that this approach is not only effective in reducing recidivism rates, but also in strengthening social cohesion in the community. However, the implementation of restorative justice based on this Qanun faces challenges, including a lack of community understanding of customary law procedures and limited support from law enforcement officers. This study concludes that the integration of customary law and restorative justice in Aceh Qanun Number 9 of 2008 has great potential to improve the criminal justice system in Aceh, provided that there is increased socialization and coordination between customary institutions and formal legal institutions.

Abstract

The multifaceted bureaucratic delays on public health in the case of the drug clearance crisis in Ghana are growing. The problem at hand is not simply an administrative lapse, but one that affects the lives of countless people who depend on these drugs for survival. This study investigates the impact of bureaucratic delays on the clearance and distribution of life-saving drugs in Ghana, highlighting the resultant effects on public health and the economy. Utilizing a qualitative research design, the research used qualitative data from document analysis and interviews conducted among policymakers, healthcare administrators and international organization representatives with 25 key respondents purposively sampled for the study. The findings revealed significant inefficiencies in the drug clearance process, including redundant paperwork, lack of inter-agency coordination, and prolonged approval times. The study concludes that addressing these bureaucratic delays is crucial for improving health outcomes and economic efficiency in Ghana's healthcare system. By implementing the recommended reforms and inculcating technology, Ghana can enhance the efficiency of its drug clearance processes, ensure timely access to essential medications, and maintain international support.
