Abstract

Chicken eggshell waste is an organic waste whose quantity continues to increase due to the high consumption of eggs by the community. Eggshells contain a high amount of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), making them a potential filler material for polymer composites. One of the factors that is presumed to affect the mechanical properties of composites is the specimen removal time (demoulding time), as it is related to the curing process of epoxy resin. This study aims to analyze the effect of demoulding time variation on the tensile strength of epoxy polymer composites reinforced with chicken eggshell powder filler fabricated using the hand lay-up method. This study employed an experimental method with five demoulding time variations, namely 6, 12, 24, 36, and 48 hours. The materials consisted of epoxy resin, hardener, and 100-mesh chicken eggshell powder with a filler fraction of 10%. Each variation consisted of three specimens, resulting in a total of 15 specimens. Tensile testing was conducted in accordance with ASTM D638. The test data were analyzed using One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and supported by macro photo analysis of the fracture surfaces. The results showed that the average tensile strengths for the 6, 12, 24, 36, and 48-hour demoulding time variations were 12.68 MPa, 28.80 MPa, 24.29 MPa, 23.35 MPa, and 24.91 MPa, respectively. The 12-hour variation produced the highest tensile strength, while the 6-hour variation produced the lowest value. The One-Way ANOVA yielded an F-value of 4.03, which was greater than the F-table value of 3.48 at a 5% significance level, indicating that demoulding time had a significant effect on the tensile strength of the composite. Macro photo analysis revealed that the 12-hour specimens exhibited a more homogeneous fracture surface with fewer voids than the 6-hour specimens, supporting the improvement in tensile strength.

Abstract

Clean, well-structured code is one competency demanded by Indonesia's National Work Competency Standard for vocational programming graduates, yet coding classes commonly still focus only on whether a program runs, without giving automatic feedback on code quality. This study examines the effectiveness of CLING (Clean Learning Integrated Gateway), a website-based Python compiler integrated with Pylint for automatic clean code assessment. The method used was Research and Development with the ADDIE model, combined with a Quasi-Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design involving tenth-grade Software Engineering students at SMK Antartika 2 Sidoarjo: an experimental class (25 students) taught with CLING and a control class (25 students) taught with Google Colab without linter integration. Material and media expert validation scored 88.2% and 87.7% (Very Valid). The Shapiro-Wilk test showed the control class posttest data were not normally distributed (p = 0.002), so the Mann-Whitney U Test was used, yielding U = 604.0 (p < 0.001), indicating a significant difference in clean code skills between the two classes. The experimental class posttest average (65.77) was far higher than the control class (32.51), with an N-Gain of 0.488 (moderate category). The Technology Acceptance Model questionnaire recorded a practicality score of 87.55% (Very Practical). These results indicate that CLING effectively improves vocational students' clean code skills.

Abstract

Technology-based learning is one of the important needs to support the development of students' creativity skills in facing the demands of 21st-century learning, especially in programming subjects. However, C++ learning in class X SMK Sejahtera Surabaya is still dominated by conventional methods so that students' creativity in exploring ideas, solving problems, and developing programming projects is not optimal, and the utilization of the Learning Management System (LMS) does not support project-based learning optimally. This study aims to develop a Moodle-based LMS using a feasible and effective Project Based Learning (PjBL) model to improve students' creativity skills in C++ material. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes learning needs analysis, LMS and learning tool design, product development and validation, implementation in class X TKJ students of SMK Sejahtera Surabaya, and evaluation of product feasibility and effectiveness. The results showed media validation of 80%, learning tools 88%, materials 87%, and questions 86%. The average posttest score of the experimental class was 81.6, higher than the control class's score of 69.8, with the Mann–Whitney U test obtaining a significance value of 0.002 (p< 0.05). This finding implies that a Moodle-based LMS integrated with PjBL can be an alternative learning medium that supports increasing student creativity in C++ programming learning.

Abstract

Twenty-first-century learning requires students to develop critical thinking skills to solve programming problems. Observations conducted in Grade X of the Software Engineering program at SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya revealed that Structured Programming instruction remains teacher-centered and is not supported by interactive learning media. This study aimed to examine the feasibility and effectiveness of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based Learning Management System (LMS) in improving students' critical thinking skills. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model. The research involved an experimental class and a control class using a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Data were collected through expert validation, black-box testing, observation, documentation, and pretest-posttest assessments, and analyzed using feasibility percentages and the Mann-Whitney U test The results showed that the developed LMS was feasible for classroom use, with expert validation scores of 90.47% for software engineering, 90.00% for learning materials, 91.25% for learning assessment, and 81.00% for instructional design. Black-box testing confirmed that all system features functioned properly. Furthermore, the PBL-based LMS improved students' critical thinking skills, as indicated by the higher mean posttest score of the experimental class (85.88) compared with the control class (75.69) (p < 0.001). These findings imply that the developed PBL-based LMS can serve as an alternative digital learning medium for Structured Programming and provide teachers with a practical reference for designing student-centered learning that supports the development of students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital platforms has accelerated public access to online health information, but it has also become a primary channel for the spread of health misinformation. Large Language Models (LLMs) have been widely adopted to address this problem through pure generative approaches; however, they frequently produce convincing yet inaccurate information, a phenomenon known as hallucination. This study implements a Retrieval-Augmented Generation approach for automatic fact-checking of health claims using the PubHealth dataset, and compares its performance against Corrective RAG (CRAG), a retrieval-evaluation-based RAG variant that filters retrieved evidence into Correct, Incorrect, or Ambiguous actions before answer generation. The proposed pipeline combines a FAISS-based semantic retriever, CrossEncoder re-ranking, and a FLAN-T5 generator to classify each claim as Fact or Myth while supplying relevant supporting evidence, and is integrated into a Gradio-based interface for claim verification and dataset expansion. The models were evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-Score, and Cohen's Kappa on the 3,770 yes/no questions that receive an explicit Fact/Myth verdict, and using faithfulness, context precision, and answer relevancy on the full 6,704-item question dataset. The FAISS retriever, CrossEncoder re-ranker, and FLAN-T5 generator were further tested through a leave-one-out ablation study combined with McNemar's test on the complete set of 3,770 yes/no questions. The results show that the RAG model outperformed CRAG on the core classification metrics, achieving an accuracy of 0.564, an F1-score of 0.564, and a Cohen's Kappa of 0.128, compared to CRAG's accuracy of 0.493, F1-score of 0.492, and a near-chance Cohen's Kappa of -0.010, whereas CRAG achieved a higher context precision (0.452 versus 0.333) and answer relevancy (0.731 versus 0.157). The ablation study and McNemar's test confirmed that the FAISS retriever and the FLAN-T5 generator each contribute a statistically significant improvement to classification accuracy (p < 0.05).

Abstract

The learning process of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using Java for undergraduate students of Information Technology Education (PTI) tends to be conventional and teacher-centered. The absence of interactive media and the lack of Problem Based Learning (PBL) integration in the existing system cause students to struggle in understanding programming logic. This study aims to develop a website-based Learning Management System (LMS) named "Resolva" that integrates PBL syntax and an online compiler to improve students' cognitive abilities. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) adapting the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects involved 30 undergraduate students of PTI Class of 2022 A, utilizing a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. Data collection instruments included expert validation sheets, cognitive tests (pre-test and post-test), and the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The results showed that the "Resolva" LMS is highly feasible for use, with validation scores of 91.76% for teaching modules, 89.34% for materials, 87.5% for test questions, and 74% for media, alongside a functionality test success rate of 97.92%. There was a significant improvement in cognitive abilities, evidenced by the Paired Sample t-Test (p < 0.001) and an average N-Gain of 0.6067 (moderate category). User response testing through UEQ indicated "Positive" criteria across all six dimensions (Attractiveness, Perspicuity, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty). It is concluded that the "Resolva" LMS is valid, practical, and effective in improving cognitive skills in Java programming and provides an excellent user experience.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), which were caused by teacher-centered learning that limited students' active participation during the learning process. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Discovery Learning model to improve the IPAS learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas Makassar. The research employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 17 fifth-grade students in the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation and analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model improved both the learning process and students' learning outcomes. Teacher and student activities increased from the "implemented" category in Cycle I to the "highly implemented" category in Cycle II. Students' learning outcomes also improved, with classical learning mastery increasing from 58.82% (10 students) in Cycle I to 88.24% (15 students) in Cycle II, while the number of students who had not achieved mastery decreased from seven to two students. These findings indicate that the Discovery Learning model effectively improves students' learning outcomes in IPAS by encouraging active participation, critical thinking, and independent concept discovery. Therefore, the Discovery Learning model can be used as an effective instructional alternative to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a web-based Learning Management System (LMS) integrated with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in the Algorithm and Programming element to test its feasibility, student critical thinking improvement, and student responses at SMKS Rajasa Surabaya. The research and development (R&D) method was applied using the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The subjects consisted of 28 tenth-grade students of Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) 1 using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection instruments included expert validation sheets, cognitive pretest-posttest, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using percentage descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, and N-Gain test. Results indicated that: (1) The Moodle-based LMS achieved high validity from material experts (92.5%), test item experts (94%), lesson plan/RPM experts (92.85%), and media experts (90%); (2) There was a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills, with average scores increasing from 54.24 to 82.63 (Asymp. Sig. 0.000 < 0.05) and an average N-Gain of 0.6174 (medium category); (3) Student response achieved 82.62% (very good category). Thus, the developed LMS is feasible and effective in enhancing critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The low critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SDN Tamamaung I in the IPAS subject were caused by the lack of varied learning media. This study aims to describe the improvement of critical thinking skills through the use of digital flipbook media. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with the Kemmis & McTaggart model conducted in two cycles, involving 34 students. Data were collected through observation and tests, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that in Cycle I, media implementation reached 50% and student test mastery was 52.9%; in Cycle II, they increased to 79.2% and 79.4%, respectively, exceeding the success indicator of 75%. It was concluded that the application of digital flipbook media is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged the public to utilize digital gold investment services, one of which is the Tring Pegadaian application. Although the application offers various features that facilitate investment activities, user acceptance needs to be evaluated to identify the factors influencing its use. This study aims to analyze user acceptance of the Tring Pegadaian application using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A quantitative approach was employed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with SmartPLS 4 software. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 146 users of the Tring Pegadaian application. The results indicate that Perceived Ease of Use has a positive and significant effect on Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Usefulness positively and significantly affects Behavioral Intention to Use, Perceived Ease of Use also positively and significantly affects Behavioral Intention to Use, and Behavioral Intention to Use positively and significantly affects Actual System Use. These findings indicate that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness play important roles in increasing users' intention, which subsequently encourages the actual use of the Tring Pegadaian application.
