Abstract

Productive zakat distribution is an alternative for poverty reduction, but focusing solely on distribution does not have an impact on sustainable businesses. Mentoring is crucial but often neglected, given that zakat funds are prioritized specifically for beneficiaries (mustahik). High costs in the process make its implementation less than optimal. This research is crucial because productive zakat distribution enables beneficiaries to maintain their businesses. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the productive zakat program on business sustainability. The research method used was a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with beneficiaries and program administrators. The results show that the productive zakat program has been running well in terms of aid distribution, indicated by easy access to capital. The program's effectiveness in improving business sustainability is still suboptimal, as evidenced by the unstable and fluctuating business conditions of beneficiaries. The need for standardized business mentoring is a solution for business sustainability, considering that mentoring is a process of increasing business capabilities that lead to business growth.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the cognitive dimension of Islamic religiosity in shaping work ethics among halal MSMEs in Makassar. The approach used was a qualitative exploratory design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of purposively selected halal MSMEs. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that MSMEs have a basic understanding of the concepts of halal and haram (permissible) and muamalah (transactions), which contribute to shaping work ethics, such as honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility, and justice. The cognitive dimension of Islamic religiosity plays a role in the internalization of values, which then influence work behavior. Business actors with a better understanding of religiosity tend to demonstrate a more consistent work ethic oriented towards Islamic values. However, there remains a gap between knowledge and practice influenced by economic pressures, business competition, and limited practical understanding. This study concludes that strengthening the cognitive dimension of Islamic religiosity through education and mentoring is necessary to increase the consistency of upholding Islamic work ethics among halal MSMEs.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic protection policy in increasing the economic independence and welfare of Gontor 3 Islamic Boarding School. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of student care, business unit managers, administration, ustadz, and students. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the economic protection policy is implemented through restrictions on external economic activities and fulfilling the needs of students through internal business units of the Islamic boarding school such as student cooperatives, Latansa Mart, laundry, and other production units. This policy is able to create a stable internal economic cycle, strengthen the economic independence of the Islamic boarding school, and improve the welfare of the Islamic boarding school through subsidies for student needs, development of educational facilities, health services, and teacher welfare. The research findings also show that the implementation of the economic protection in Gontor 3 is relevant to Friedrich List's protectionism theory and is in line with the principles of Islamic welfare based on maqāṣid shari'ah.

Abstract

The development of digital technology through e-commerce has significantly transformed people’s consumption patterns to become more practical, fast, and efficient, including within religious communities such as Robithoh Al Atho Wa Al Irfan (RAWI). Easy access, digital promotions, discounts, flash sales, and free shipping have influenced the consumption behavior of the organization’s members. This study aims to analyze the meaning of consumption through e-commerce, the consumer decision-making process, and the role of Islamic values in shaping the consumption behavior of RAWI members from the perspective of maqashid sharia. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, which are analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that consumption through e-commerce is not only understood as fulfilling needs but also as part of a modern lifestyle that emphasizes practicality and efficiency. The consumer decision-making process is influenced by both rational and emotional factors simultaneously. Islamic values have served as normative guidelines for members’ consumption behavior; however, their implementation remains partial and has not fully controlled consumptive behavior in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy and financial behavior on financial resilience with digitalization as a mediating variable. The study was conducted among MSME operators in Makassar City using a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Purposive sampling was employed with a total of 200 respondents. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that financial literacy has no significant direct effect on financial resilience, but exerts a positive and significant effect on digitalization. Financial behavior is proven to have a positive and significant effect on both financial resilience and digitalization. Digitalization emerged as the variable with the largest direct effect on financial resilience. Mediation analysis reveals that digitalization fully mediates the effect of financial literacy on financial resilience and partially mediates the effect of financial behavior on financial resilience. The R-square value of 0.715 indicates strong explanatory power of the model. This study confirms that enhancing financial resilience must be pursued holistically through strengthening financial literacy, fostering positive financial behavior, and accelerating the adoption of digital financial technology in a synergistic manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of hedonic shopping motivation, influencer marketing, and self-control on impulsive buying behavior among 2022 cohort students using TikTok Shop at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi from the perspective of Islamic consumer behavior. In Islamic economics, consumption behavior should be guided by the principles of moderation, benefit (maslahah), and self-restraint to avoid excessive consumption (israf) and wasteful spending. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 350 respondents selected through proportional stratified random sampling based on predetermined inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that hedonic shopping motivation, influencer marketing, and self-control have positive and significant effects on impulsive buying, with path coefficients of 0.418, 0.290, and 0.302, respectively, and p-values of 0.000. Simultaneously, these three variables explain 33.1% of the variance in impulsive buying behavior. The measurement model evaluation confirmed that all constructs met the criteria of validity and reliability, while the structural model showed no significant multicollinearity issues. These findings suggest that psychological factors, digital marketing strategies, and self-regulatory capabilities play important roles in shaping impulsive buying behavior on social commerce platforms. From an Islamic consumer behavior perspective, the findings underscore the importance of strengthening moderate, rational, and responsible consumption values to minimize impulsive buying tendencies among university students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze wage justice and worker welfare at Saung Sabdo Restaurant from the perspective of Maqashid Sharia. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the 1 operational manager and workers consisting of 2 cooks, 2 waiters, and 1 cashiers. The findings indicate that the wage system has generally implemented the principles of justice through timely salary payments, opportunities for worship, and harmonious working relationships. Workers’ income was considered sufficient to support daily needs and family necessities. However, worker welfare has not been fully optimal because some workers still face difficulties in meeting long-term economic needs. This study found that wage justice in the perspective of maqashid sharia is not only related to the amount of income, but also includes the protection of spiritual, social, psychological, and overall worker welfare aspects.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of the rising Non-Performing Financing (NPF) ratio at PT BPR Syariah Lantabur Tebuireng Jombang, which increased from 15.63% in 2024 to 21.36% in 2025. This percentage has exceeded the 5% safety threshold set by OJK. Nevertheless, the institution has remained capable of maintaining its total assets and business continuity. This study aims to identify the NPF management strategies in maintaining the institution’s business continuity. This study employs a qualitative method using a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, supported by field observations and documentation. The results indicate that PT BPR Syariah Lantabur Tebuireng Jombang implements four NPF management strategies, including increasing the mobilization of low-cost funds as the primary source of financing, controlling operational costs (PPAP), and financing restructuring through rescheduling, reconditioning, and restructuring mechanisms supported by active field monitoring. These four strategies play a role in maintaining revenue stability, expenditure balance, absorption of potential losses, and liquidity risk control, thereby ensuring the institution's business continuity remains intact despite the continuous increase in NPF.

Abstract

The development of financial technology (fintech) in Indonesia has driven a significant increase in the use of online lending services, including among university students. As a group in the transition phase toward financial independence, students often turn to online loans as a solution for urgent needs. However, the use of these services must be balanced with a financial understanding grounded in Sharia principles, consideration of the social environment, and awareness of the inherent risks. This study aims to analyze the influence of Sharia financial literacy and subjective norms on the interest in using online loans among students in the Sharia Economic Law, Islamic Economics, and Family Law programs at Hasyim Asy'ari University in Jombang, both directly and indirectly through risk perception as a mediating variable. This study employs a quantitative causal-associative approach using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 97 active students selected using purposive sampling based on the Slovin formula. The results of the study indicate that Islamic financial literacy and subjective norms have a positive and significant effect on interest in online loans, whereas risk perception has a negative and significant effect on interest in online loans. However, risk perception was not found to mediate the influence of Islamic financial literacy or subjective norms on interest in online loans among students at Hasyim Asy'ari University.
