Abstract

Organizational communication is a fundamental element that influences the effectiveness of work coordination and employee satisfaction, particularly in large organizations with complex hierarchical structures. This study aims to analyze the state of organizational communication within the Corporate Communications Department of the Corporate Secretary Division at PT Pindad by examining employees’ job satisfaction levels through the lens of organizational communication, as well as to provide recommendations and an evaluation of organizational communication. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, involving eight active employees from three sub-departments. Data analysis utilized the Miles & Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that communication patterns within this department are hybrid in nature. The barriers identified include incomplete information, differences in interpretation between units, and delays in message delivery. All informants stated that clear, open communication supported by feedback from superiors significantly contributes to motivation and job satisfaction. This study concludes that the effectiveness of organizational communication is closely related to employee job satisfaction, attendance, and productivity.

The research employed a literature review method using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected from national journal articles and scientific proceedings published between 2021 and 2025 through Google Scholar. Data analysis was conducted through identification, selection, and literature synthesis stages. The results indicate that interactive multimedia contributes to improving learning motivation, understanding of learning materials, student participation, and the effectiveness of learning evaluation. The implementation of interactive multimedia through a quiz application also demonstrates that interactivity and feedback features can support a more effective evaluation process. Therefore, interactive multimedia can be considered an effective solution for enhancing the quality of digital learning.

Abstract

This study examines maternal health education content on the Instagram account @theasianparent_id, one of the largest parenting platforms in Indonesia with nearly one million followers. The high reliance of pregnant women on Instagram as a source of prenatal information raises serious concerns about content quality, given that not all posts can be guaranteed to be accurate or appropriate for the target audience. This study aims to analyze maternal health education content on the @theasianparent_id account based on four principles of Digital Health Communication (DHC): accessibility, accuracy, relevance, and comprehensibility, as well as to identify how maternal health messages are conveyed within such content. A qualitative approach with a descriptive-interpretive content analysis method was employed, supported by in-depth interviews with three informants consisting of one active midwife as the key informant and two pregnant women or newly postpartum mothers as additional informants. The unit of analysis comprised seven content pieces published from January to March 2026. Findings indicate that relevance was fulfilled most consistently across all content, while accuracy emerged as the weakest dimension since the majority of content did not include verified medical sources. Accessibility was generally well fulfilled, except in content that used technical medical terminology without prior explanation. Message comprehensibility varied by content format, with collaboration reels featuring professional medical personnel demonstrating the highest comprehensibility. This study concludes that @theasianparent_id has not implemented its capacity as a digital health communication medium uniformly and consistently.

Abstract

Beauty product advertisements do not merely function as marketing media, but also as spaces that actively transform women into economic commodities. This study aims to analyze how women are commodified in Wardah's #BeautyMovesYou advertisement on YouTube, a 60-second campaign released in October 2021 featuring four main scenes of women moving to create change. The study employs a qualitative approach using Norman Fairclough's three-dimensional Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). Vincent Mosco's commodification concept is used to read how women's identities and values are transformed into exchange value, while Kimberlé Crenshaw's intersectional feminism is used to examine which identities are selectively commodified. The findings show that all four scenes commodify women's social values, from the spirit of collaboration, courage, education, to Muslim identity, as commercial brand assets. The inclusivity displayed is selective: only identities with high market value are represented, while lower-class, elderly, and ethnic minority women are absent. This study concludes that the empowerment narrative in Wardah's advertisement must be critically read as a femvertising practice.

Abstract

Zakat, this study aims to analyze the representation of opinion leaders in the digital era through a case study of Gerald Vincent’s educational communication strategy, particularly focusing on his communication style and language use in influencing audiences. This research employs the Two-Step Flow of Communication theory and Source Credibility theory to explain the role of influencers in the information dissemination process. The method used is qualitative, involving an analysis of social media content and audience responses. The findings indicate that the communication strategies applied include the use of simple language, structured delivery, and support from facts or data. A communicative and easily understandable language style makes the message more effectively received by the audience. In addition, consistency and clarity in delivering information enhance the influencer’s credibility. The implications of this study suggest that a simple and clear educational communication style can strengthen the role of influencers as opinion leaders in helping audiences understand information in the digital era

Abstract

The development of social media has changed organizational communication patterns, where the public is not only a recipient of information but also plays an active role in forming opinions and influencing the organization's reputation. This condition causes organizations to face new challenges because an issue originating from an individual can develop into a reputation crisis if it is related to the organization's identity. This study aims to analyze the digital communication crisis of PT Timah Tbk in dealing with viral employee content that has attracted public attention, with a focus on the chronology of the crisis, factors causing virality, the role of social media, Cyber Public Relations strategies, and recommendations for more effective digital crisis communication models. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach through literature analysis, online media coverage, and a review of previous research on digital crisis communication and organizational reputation management. The analysis results show that the PT Timah Tbk crisis occurred due to the dissemination of personal content that was then linked to the organization's image. The virality of the case is influenced by the sensitivity of social issues, public emotional involvement, and the characteristics of social media that enable the rapid dissemination of information. Social media acts as a space for crisis amplification as well as a means for organizational communication in providing clarification. PT Timah Tbk's Cyber PR strategy is carried out through communication responses and collective actions but needs to be strengthened with a more proactive approach. This study recommends a digital crisis communication model that integrates the principles of SCCT, Cyber Relations, and dialogic communication through the stages of issue monitoring, rapid response, public involvement, and trust restoration.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of social pressure on women’s roles through a semiotic analysis of the character Mila in the film A Normal Woman (2025) by Lucky Kuswandi. Drawing on Stuart Hall’s Representation Theory and Lisa Tuttle’s Feminist Theory, this descriptive qualitative study with a critical paradigm uses primary data in the form of film dialogues and scenes, supported by relevant literature. The analysis, based on Roland Barthes’ model, reveals three layers of meaning—denotation, connotation, and myth—to examine visual and verbal signs that reproduce or critique patriarchal norms. The findings show that Mila is represented as experiencing layered social pressure due to her multiple roles as wife, mother, daughter, and daughter-in-law, which produce domestic and emotional burdens. The internalization of gender norms is reflected in the phenomenon of being a people pleaser, which is naturalized as “family harmony,” while bodily symbolism, such as nosebleeds and skin rashes, functions as a language of resistance against oppressive normality. The film simultaneously operates within reflective, constructionist, and intentional models of representation, while positioning women as a group disadvantaged by patriarchal structures, although it provides limited space for agency. The findings affirm the role of film as an arena for the reproduction and critique of social norms regarding gender, as well as its implications for interpersonal communication and the formation of contemporary women’s identities.
