Abstract

Abstract

This research was motivated by the increasing use of online lending services among university students, particularly in Jember Regency. Easy access, fast application processes, and massive promotion through social media have made students active users of such services. Unfortunately, many students do not fully understand the risks or assess their financial conditions properly, making them vulnerable to debt traps. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, socioeconomic status, lifestyle, social media, and environmental factors on students’ decisions to use online loans. The research involved accounting students from five universities in Jember. With a population of 2,974 students, the sample was selected using the Slovin formula and snowball sampling method, resulting in 100 respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results show that, partially, financial literacy and lifestyle significantly influence online loan decisions. Meanwhile, socioeconomic status, social media, and environmental factors have no significant effect. Simultaneously, all five variables have a significant influence on online loan decisions. These findings highlight the importance of improving students’ financial literacy and encouraging a more mindful lifestyle. Educational institutions are expected to strengthen financial education. Future researchers are advised to add variables such as impulsiveness and expand the research area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability and liquidity on firm value with stock price as a moderating variable in food and beverages companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. This research employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression analysis. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, resulting in 31 companies with 155 panel observations. Data analysis was conducted using Eviews 13 through model selection tests including Common Effect Model, Fixed Effect Model, and Random Effect Model. The results indicate that profitability proxied by Return on Assets (ROA) does not have a significant effect on firm value (probability 0.8596 > 0.05). Liquidity proxied by Current Ratio (CR) also does not significantly affect firm value (probability 0.3204 > 0.05). However, stock price significantly moderates the relationship between profitability and firm value (probability 0.0344 < 0.05). In contrast, stock price does not moderate the relationship between liquidity and firm value (probability 0.8690 > 0.05). These findings suggest that in the food and beverages sector, stock price strengthens the influence of profitability on firm value but does not strengthen the influence of liquidity on firm value.

Profitability was measured by Return on Assets (ROA), capital structure by Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), firm size by the natural logarithm of total assets, and dividend policy by Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR). The results indicate that capital structure does not have a significant effect on dividend policy, while firm size has a significant effect on dividend policy. Capital structure significantly affects profitability; however, firm size and dividend policy do not have a significant effect on profitability. Furthermore, dividend policy is not able to mediate the effect of capital structure and firm size on profitability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digital competence and leadership style on employee performance through digital transformation as an intervening variable at the Department of Livestock and Animal Health of West Sumatra Province. A quantitative survey approach was employed. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicate that digital competence has a positive and significant effect on digital transformation (β = 0.502; t = 4.408; p < 0.05). Leadership style also positively and significantly influences digital transformation. Digital competence significantly affects employee performance. However, leadership style has a negative and insignificant effect on employee performance. Digital transformation does not mediate the relationship between digital competence or leadership style and employee performance. The R² value of employee performance is 0.816, indicating strong explanatory power. The findings suggest that strengthening digital competence directly improves public employee performance rather than relying on digital transformation mediation mechanisms.
