Abstract

Globalization has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including the realm of religion, particularly in the field of hadith interpretation. For centuries, hadith interpretation was based on historical context, established scientific methods, and the authority of scholars as the primary reference. However, the rapid and geographically boundless connection of Muslims worldwide has brought new and complex challenges. These changes have not only affected the way scholars and historians understand classical texts but have also expanded the space for discussion into the public sphere through digital technology. This research aims to examine in depth how globalization influences the process of hadith interpretation in the contemporary era. The focus of the study includes changes in methodological approaches to interpretation, shifts in understanding of classical texts, and the influence of cross-cultural interactions and the development of digital media on shaping more pluralistic religious perspectives. The rapid flow of information enables the exchange of views across countries, schools of thought, and cultures, creating opportunities for enriching insight, but also potentially giving rise to interpretations that deviate from traditional principles. The results of this research are expected to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the positive and negative impacts of globalization on hadith interpretation. On the positive side, globalization can facilitate access to literature, encourage interfaith dialogue, and revitalize the Islamic intellectual tradition on a global scale. However, on the negative side, globalization also risks the desires of scholarly authorities, giving rise to instant interpretations without a strong methodology, and increasing the potential for conflicting understandings. These findings are expected to be relevant for understanding contemporary social, cultural, and political dynamics, as well as contributing to efforts to construct contextual interpretations of hadith while remaining anchored in solid scientific principles.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect in the effort to shape individuals with morals, ethics, and responsibility amidst the currents of globalization and modernization. The phenomenon of moral crisis, ethical degradation, and dehumanization emphasizes the urgency of character education that is not only oriented towards intellectual intelligence, but also emphasizes spiritual and social values. In this context, the thoughts of Ahmad Amin, a modern Islamic thinker, are relevant to be re-examined. Ahmad Amin emphasized the importance of Islamic values as a foundation for ethics and morality that are both universal and contextual, thus able to address the needs of modern humans who are facing complex challenges in various aspects of life. This study uses a library research method with a qualitative approach. The main data sources are Ahmad Amin's works related to the concept of morals and education, supplemented by supporting literature discussing character education and its relevance in today's development. The analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically to examine Ahmad Amin's ideas and relate them to the needs of modern society. The results of the study indicate that Ahmad Amin's thoughts on character education are rooted in Islamic moral principles that emphasize the balance between spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects. Values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and social awareness are at the heart of healthy character development. This thinking is relevant to the needs of the modern era, marked by a moral crisis, and therefore can serve as an alternative paradigm for character education that adapts to current developments while remaining grounded in Islamic values. Therefore, it can be concluded that Ahmad Amin's thinking is not only of historical value but also makes a significant contribution to developing character education based on Islamic values, capable of maintaining spiritual orientation while addressing the challenges of modernity.

Abstract

This article discusses the strategic role of general moderation of Generation Z in supporting the vision of "Golden Indonesia 2045", emphasizing the importance of religious moderation as the foundation of social stability, tolerance, and interfaith harmony. Generation Z, as a digital generation that grew up in the midst of globalization and technological disruption, has great potential in forming an inclusive and resilient society against the threat of radicalism and intolerance. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature study to explore how Generation Z understands, evaluates, and internalizes moderate religious values in daily life. The results of the analysis show that religious and religious literacy is a crucial element in building balanced social and spiritual awareness among the younger generation. This article also identifies strategies that can be applied by Generation Z as a social fortress, including through strengthening the values of moderation in formal education, using social media wisely, and integrating the principle of moderation in public policy. The mainstreaming of religious moderation in various sectors of life is believed to be able to foster a tolerant, critical, and globally competitive generation. Thus, Generation Z is not only the successor of the nation, but also the main actor in realizing a just, harmonious, and civilized Indonesian society towards 2045.

Abstract

This study explores the phenomenon of eclipses from the perspective of Islamic prophetic traditions (hadith), aiming to understand the theological and ritual responses to such celestial events in Islamic teachings. Despite being predictable astronomical occurrences, eclipses have often been associated with myths and superstitions in various cultures. The study investigates how Islamic teachings demystify these phenomena through authentic hadiths. Using a qualitative method with a thematic and historical approach, primary data were drawn from digital hadith sources such as Maktabah Syamilah, Hadith Soft, and the Encyclopedia of Hadith: The Nine Imams. The analysis identified ten relevant hadiths, which were grouped into three main themes: the meaning of eclipses, the spiritual wisdom behind them, and prescribed religious practices. Findings show that Islam emphasizes eclipses as signs of God's greatness, unrelated to death or birth events, and calls for reflective acts such as prayer and charity. This research contributes to the discourse on how religious texts provide a rational and spiritual framework for  natural phenomena

Abstract

This writing is intended for equality between women and men so that there are no differences in education. Through the hadith texts of the Prophet and History from pre-prophecy, it cannot be denied that women are second class in life so that many people exclude women compared to men, contrary to what was taught by the Prophet Muhammad SAW who was sent to the face of the earth. This is one way of elevating a woman's status or perfecting her morals to this day, but currently many people in the community think that women's education is not important because women will return to home affairs serving their husbands and educating their children. In contrast to the current life where women can become leaders and can hold positions that men usually hold, such as in government and pubic society. In writing this, the author hopes to change society's mindset to change and improve thinking that does not provide access to women so that women can develop themselves so that they can become useful women in society, especially in their households, in this case not a few women complain. to be able to study and be educated as a man who values education in high regard. This article concludes the importance of women's education that we must change our mindset and provide access to women so that they can develop their potential.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of globalization on the YOLO (You Only Live Once) culture and hedonistic behavior among students at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta and offers solutions based on Islamic values. Globalization, fueled by technological and social media developments, has accelerated the spread of consumer culture. This encourages students to prioritize immediate pleasure without considering the long-term impact. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, using interviews and literature analysis. The results show that social pressure, the influence of digital trends, and easy access to a consumer lifestyle play a significant role in the rise of hedonistic behavior among students. This phenomenon indicates a shift in mindset that tends to prioritize instant gratification. From an Islamic perspective, this lifestyle is inconsistent with the principle of wasathiyah, or balance, which emphasizes simplicity, responsibility, and a meaningful life orientation. Therefore, the solutions offered include strengthening character education based on Islamic values, developing a da'wah community close to the realities of students, and providing alternative programs that can channel the energies of the younger generation toward productivity and spirituality.Through this approach, students are expected to be able to act more wisely in facing the strong currents of globalization and adopt a balanced lifestyle, not get caught up in hedonism, and still adhere to Islamic teachings

Abstract

In the digital era, the erosion of moral values among young people has become a pressing challenge for Islamic Religious Education (PAI). Folktales, as part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage, offer universal moral lessons that resonate with Islamic principles. This study investigates the potential of folktales as instructional media for instilling Islamic values while addressing the demands of digital-based learning. A qualitative descriptive method was applied, involving textual analysis of folktales, classroom observations, and interviews with teachers and students. The selected stories Malin Kundang, Bawang Merah Bawang Putih, Timun Mas, and Lake Toba were examined to identify moral values consistent with Qur’anic and prophetic teachings. Data were analyzed using reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, supported by triangulation to enhance validity. The results reveal that folktales embody key Islamic values such as filial piety, honesty, patience, courage, and loyalty to promises. Their integration into PAI classes not only increased student attention and emotional engagement but also encouraged deeper moral reflection. Moreover, digital adaptations through animations, videos, and digital storytelling expanded their relevance to contemporary learners, although challenges remain in teachers’ digital literacy and the need for contextual reinterpretation. This study concludes that folktales are more than cultural narratives; they are strategic tools for moral education. By leveraging digital innovation, folktales can reinforce character formation, sustain the relevance of PAI, and prepare Muslim students to be adaptive and value-driven in navigating modern society.
