Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of information services using film media on the social interaction of class X students at SMA Negeri 4 Palu. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of the type of one group pretest–posttest design. The research sample amounted to 37 students selected from class X. Data collection was carried out using a social interaction scale that included aspects of social contact and communication. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics with a paired sample t-test. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that there was a change in the level of social interaction of students before and after treatment. The average pretest score of 66.35 increased to 68.05 in the posttest. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 which means that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. These findings show that information services using film media influence increasing students' social interaction. Thus, film media can be used as an alternative strategy in guidance and counseling services to help students improve their social interaction skills in the school environment

Abstract

This study aims to identify the interaction patterns of teachers in the Office Management and Business Services department at SMK YAPMI Makassar and their influence on student learning motivation. This study is quantitative with a focus on two main variables, namely teacher interaction patterns and student learning motivation. A questionnaire consisting of two main parts, namely teacher interaction patterns in education and student learning motivation, was used to collect data. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive relationship between teacher interaction patterns and student learning motivation at SMK YAPMI Makassar. However, this relationship is relatively weak with a correlation coefficient value close to zero, namely r squared of 0.088. This means that only 8.8% of the variation in the dependent variable (student learning motivation) can be explained by teacher interaction patterns, while 91.2% of the dependence is influenced by other factors not included in this study. The level of student learning motivation at SMK YAPMI Makassar is classified as excellent, with a percentage reaching 82.93%. Student learning motivation is measured through three main indicators: (1) persistence in completing tasks, (2) persistence in facing challenges during the learning process, and (3) the ability to express and defend opinions actively during the learning process. These findings indicate that teacher interaction is not the only determining factor, but it still plays an important role in shaping student learning motivation. Therefore, improving the quality of interaction between teachers and students needs to receive more attention in an effort to improve learning outcomes and active student participation in class. This study also opens up opportunities for further research that can explore other factors that influence student learning motivation more comprehensively, such as classroom environment, teaching methods, and peer interactions.

Abstract

The integration of technology in the learning process constitutes a significant factor contributing to the enhancement of students’ learning motivation. This study aims to examine the effect of learning technology utilization on the motivation of students enrolled in the Office Management and Business Services (MPLB) program at SMK Negeri 1 Bantaeng. Employing a quantitative approach with descriptive and inferential methods, data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, with 152 respondents selected from a population of 250 students using a simple random sampling technique. The results show a positive and statistically significant link between using learning technology and students' motivation. This is shown by a correlation coefficient of 0.554, which is in the moderate range, and a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.306, which means that 30.6% of the change in learning motivation is due to technology use, while the other 69.4% is due to other factors that are not covered in this study. Additionally, the level of technology utilization in learning is categorized as satisfactory, achieving 57% based on indicators such as message delivery, instructional strategies, and implementation forms, while students’ learning motivation is also classified as excellent with a percentage of 64% derived from intrinsic and extrinsic motivational aspects. These findings imply that, although not the sole determinant, technology plays a substantial role in fostering active student engagement; therefore, optimizing its use in the learning process provides greater opportunities to enhance motivation, and teachers are expected to design technology-based learning that is creative, interactive, and aligned with students’ needs.

Abstract

Urban sprawl has become one of the major spatial challenges faced by Makassar City amid rapid urban growth and suburban expansion. The increasing conversion of agricultural and open land into residential, commercial, and infrastructure areas has encouraged uncontrolled urban expansion toward peri urban areas such as Biringkanaya, Tamalanrea, and surrounding corridors. This condition has created various urban problems including traffic congestion, inefficient infrastructure services, environmental degradation, flood vulnerability, and fragmented land use patterns. This study aims to analyze the role of spatial planning policies in addressing urban sprawl in Makassar City and to identify the main challenges in controlling spatial expansion in suburban areas. The research uses a qualitative approach through library research by examining various scientific studies related to urban sprawl, land use change, suburban development, and spatial planning policies in Makassar. Data were analyzed descriptively and critically to understand the relationship between urban expansion and the effectiveness of spatial planning policies. The findings indicate that urban sprawl in Makassar is driven not only by population growth and urbanization, but also by weak spatial control, increasing real estate development, transportation accessibility, and uneven urban development patterns. Existing spatial planning policies have not fully controlled dispersed urban growth, particularly in peri urban areas experiencing rapid land conversion. Therefore, strengthening spatial governance through compact city approaches, mixed land use development, integrated transportation systems, and stricter land use control is necessary to support more sustainable urban development in Makassar City.

Abstract

This study investigates the digital divide and its consequences for learning access among Papua Indigenous People (Orang Asli Papua/OAP) students at secondary schools in Sorong City, West Papua Province, Indonesia. The digital divide refers to the gap between individuals who have effective access to digital technologies and those who do not, encompassing disparities in infrastructure, devices, skills, and meaningful use. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, this research examined the digital divide experience of OAP secondary school students, their teachers, and relevant education officials. Data were collected from 22 purposively selected informants across three state secondary schools with high OAP student enrollment in Sorong City. The findings reveal that OAP students face multidimensional digital exclusion: limited access to devices and internet connectivity at home, low digital literacy levels, a scarcity of culturally responsive digital learning content, and inadequate teacher capacity to facilitate technology-mediated learning. These barriers compound existing educational disadvantages and are widened during disruptions such as emergency remote learning. The study argues that the digital divide in OAP secondary education in Sorong City is not merely a technical or infrastructural problem but is deeply rooted in structural inequalities, historical marginalization, and cultural discontinuities between the state education system and OAP community life. Recommendations are offered for policy interventions to bridge the digital learning divide for OAP students through community-based digital access programs, culturally adapted digital content, and targeted teacher professional development.
