Abstract

The development of digital technology has made YouTube one of the media platforms closely integrated into the lives of young children. This study aims to describe the use of YouTube as a stimulus for early childhood language development and to examine the roles of teachers and parents in supporting this process. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach at Tiara Tama Posyandu Center, Pacitan, involving 12 children, 2 teachers, and 10 parents as research participants. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings indicate that YouTube can stimulate children's language development through vocabulary enrichment, listening skills, speech imitation, speaking ability, receptive and expressive language development, and increased confidence in language use. Children became more active and enthusiastic when learning through educational videos containing songs, stories, and simple vocabulary introductions. An important finding of this study is that the effectiveness of YouTube is determined not only by the quality of its content but also by the active involvement of teachers and parents through questioning, dialogue, and vocabulary reinforcement activities. Therefore, YouTube functions as an effective language stimulus when integrated with social interaction and appropriate adult guidance.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of family and educational institution involvement in supporting early childhood development. Child development is often understood as a school task, even though the family is the primary environment that plays a significant role in maintaining on going stimulation at home. The purpose of this study is the describe how parents and teachers collaborate to support early childhood development. The method used is a descriptive qualitative case study. The research subjects consisted of teachers, principals, and parents of students. Data collection technique were confucted through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was achieved through triangulation of source and technique. The results show that collaboration between parents and teachers occurs in three main ways. Whatsapp group communication, the use of contact books, and regular meetings. These three methods are used to convey information about learning, track children’s progress, and discuss school programs. The implications of this study emphasize that targeted communication between teachers and parents must be strengthened to ensure consistent stimulation of children’s social and emotional development both at school an at home.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the “Letter and Color Detective” educational game on the literacy development of children aged 5–6 years. The research method used was a quantitative study with a one-group design. The subjects in this study were children aged 5–6 years at the Uwais Al-Qarni Tutoring Center in Bandung. Data collection was conducted through observation, testing, and documentation, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the “Letter and Color Detective” educational game has a significant effect on the literacy development of children aged 5–6 years, as evidenced by the data: a pretest score of 17.25 (71.88%) and a posttest score that increased to 22.5 (93.75%). This increase in the percentage indicates that the “Color and Letter Detective” game is effective in improving the literacy skills of young children. Thus, the “Color and Letter Detective” game has a significant effect on the literacy development of children aged 5–6 years.
