Abstract

Used cooking oil waste is one of the most common environmental problems found in communities, particularly in rural areas such as Wateskroyo Village. Improper disposal can pollute the environment and pose health risks. This program aims to empower the local community through a training on how to make aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil, serving as a waste management strategy and a means of creating new economic opportunities. Using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the program began with education on the hazards of waste oil and its economic potential, followed by hands-on training. The results showed increased knowledge and skills among participants, along with a growing awareness and interest in environmentally friendly micro-enterprises. Despite challenges such as the limited availability of stearin, the program proved effective in encouraging community participation in creating eco-friendly and economically valuable local solutions. Therefore, this training contributes to community empowerment and sustainable development in Wateskroyo Village. Keyword: used cooking oil, aromatherapy candles, empowerment, environment

Abstract

Public health is strongly influenced by daily dietary habits. Field observations indicate a low level of community understanding regarding healthy food and limited skills in safely and nutritiously processing ingredients. The Healthy Food Production Workshop Using Simple Chemical Technology at GBI Bukit Zaitun Medan was conducted to address this need, aiming to improve participants’ knowledge, skills, and awareness related to healthy food. The method used was a community service approach with a participatory-educational design based on learning by doing. The workshop was conducted in three sessions: a theoretical presentation on healthy food and simple chemical technology, hands-on practice in preparing healthy food using local ingredients and simple tools, and a reflective discussion to evaluate participants’ learning experiences. Data were collected through observation, brief interviews, pre- and post-workshop questionnaires, and field documentation. Analysis was performed descriptively, both qualitatively and with simple quantitative measures, to assess changes in participants’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding from 35% in the pre-test to 85% in the post-test, as well as practical competence in producing healthy food products, including probiotic drinks, steamed low-oil foods, and natural preservation using spices. Furthermore, most participants demonstrated strong motivation to change their dietary habits and apply the skills learned at home. This workshop demonstrates the effectiveness of a community-based approach in enhancing healthy food literacy and practical skills, providing a foundation for the development of sustainable programs that support healthy living within local communities.

Abstract

Improving the quality of Arabic language learning in Islamic schools (madrasas) is an urgent need to improve students' understanding and language skills. One of the challenges faced by teachers is the limited mastery of innovative learning methods that can increase student learning motivation. Educaplay-based gamification offers an interactive approach that makes learning more interesting and effective. This activity aims to improve the competence of Arabic language teachers at MTs. Al-Ajhariyyah Cibitung Bekasi in designing and implementing gamification-based learning using the Educaplay platform. The method used is direct service in the classroom with activities involving educational games, quizzes, and interactive exercises based on Educaplay. The conclusion shows that the Educaplay-based gamification method is an effective and engaging learning method that can be used by teachers at MTs Al-Ajhariyyah Cibitung Bekasi to support the teaching and learning process and increase student engagement and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Besakih Village, which is located at the foot of Mount Agung, is known as a village with high cultural and historical value. Another potential is in the agriculture and plantation sectors. These potentials show that Besakih Village is not only rich in natural resources, but also has great opportunities in the development of the economic sector from its natural potential. Community service through the practice of making rengginang made from sweet potatoes aims to utilize the local potential of Besakih Village through the innovation of sweet potato-based processed food products. By using the Asssets-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach which emphasizes the use of local assets as the basis for sweet potato rengginang practice activities. The activity began with the identification of village potential through discussions with local residents online. The stages of the activity include socialization, manufacturing practices, and reflection or evaluation. The results of this community service show that the innovation of sweet potato-based rengginang was positively received by the women present because it provides an alternative to the management of innovative agricultural products from sweet potatoes which are usually processed in traditional foods. However, there are challenges in the drying process due to the rainfall that is quite dominating in Besakih Village. From the evaluation, it indicates that community involvement still needs to be increased to support the sustainability of innovation. The ABCD method used is effectively used to optimize local potential. However, its implementation requires support Furthermore, both in the form of advanced training, access to simple technology for drying, as well as institutional strengthening, and marketing so that this practice can be developed as MSME products based on local and community potential.

Abstract

Problems in health service delivery at Sungai Kapih Primary Health Center include the low utilization of the Mobile JKN online queue system and limited public understanding of service flow procedures. This community service activity aimed to improve public understanding and support the utilization of the Mobile JKN online queue system through the SEHATI (Sehat dan Tertib Antrean) Program as a community-based educational intervention. The activity was conducted in the form of Field Learning Practice (PBL) by students under the supervision of lecturers and staff of Sungai Kapih Primary Health Center from December 18, 2025 to January 22, 2026. Methods included direct observation, interviews with health workers, and focus group discussions to identify service problems and formulate appropriate intervention strategies. Program implementation consisted of educational sessions, direct assistance in using the Mobile JKN application, and dissemination of information regarding service flow and online queue procedures through visual educational media. Quantitative before–after data regarding the increase in understanding and online queue utilization were not comprehensively available during the implementation period. Therefore, the results primarily describe the implementation process and educational intervention carried out through the SEHATI Program. Observational findings and brief interviews indicated improved patient awareness and understanding regarding the use of the Mobile JKN online queue system. The main output of this activity was the provision of a SEHATI standing banner as a sustainable informational medium placed in the service area of the primary health center.

Abstract

Work accountability is a crucial aspect in improving employee performance, particularly in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). However, in practice, employees’ understanding of accountability is often limited to technical aspects of task completion without deeper awareness of broader responsibilities. This community service activity aims to strengthen employees’ work accountability through an integrated approach covering professional, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. The method used is a descriptive approach through community education, implemented via counseling and simple training activities. Participants were provided with practical case examples related to daily work activities, such as cash management, stock recording, and emotional control in customer service. Data were collected through direct observation and interaction during the activity, while evaluation was conducted qualitatively based on participants’ responses and engagement. The results indicate a significant improvement in employees’ understanding of accountability in a more comprehensive manner. Employees not only became more aware of the importance of accuracy, discipline, and responsibility in work (professional aspect), but also demonstrated better emotional control and awareness of spiritual values such as honesty and integrity. This study concludes that integrating professional, emotional, and spiritual approaches is effective in strengthening work accountability and fostering more responsible, ethical, and meaningful work behavior.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the results of novelty exploration training in reputable article writing for novice lecturers at Selamat Sri Batang University. This activity was facilitated by the Quality Assurance Institute and the Institute for Research and Community Service of the university. As is known, the issue of improving the quality of writing for lecturers is an absolute requirement in determining the quality of educational personnel. Every lecturer is required to be able to develop and possess good writing skills. This is in line with one of the pillars of the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely the field of research. Therefore, the presence of new lecturers really needs training so that in the future they have writing skills and are able to make real contributions through research work. This service method uses a training program method, where novice lecturers are given training while increasing literacy in developing writing ideas, especially in penetrating reputable national journals. The issue of novelty in writing is the focus of this training so that they have increased capacity in writing scientific papers. Th is activity was attended by 46 novice lecturers with facilitation from the LPM and LPPM Teams. The results show that novice lecturers still do not fully understand how to explore novelty in scientific writing. They consider exploring novelty to be a challenge to date. However, after the training, novice lecturers began to realize the importance of novelty and how to find it in presenting scientific work. Furthermore, most participants considered this activity to be able to foster a spirit of writing, enabling them to publish articles in reputable national journals at a certain level, which is crucial for future functional position advancement.

Abstract

The development of digital technology provides significant opportunities for the development of the arts and crafts sector, particularly in enhancing the aesthetic and economic value of products. This community service activity aims to develop innovative ceramic and textile-based craft products through the use of digital technology to increase the capacity, creativity, and competitiveness of the community, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The main problems faced by partners include limitations in product diversification, low utilization of technology in the design and marketing process, and the lack of added value to the resulting craft products. The activity implementation method includes the stages of identifying the potential and needs of partners, digital-based product design training, mentoring innovative production processes, and strengthening marketing strategies based on digital platforms. The technologies applied include digital graphic design, QR Code integration as a product information medium, and the introduction of the Augmented Reality concept to increase the interactive and educational value of products. The results of the activity show an increase in partners' skills in developing more innovative, functional, and aesthetically valuable craft product designs. The resulting products include decorative ceramics based on local motifs, multifunctional textile products, and ceramic-textile combination crafts with an environmentally friendly approach. In addition, there has been an increase in partners' understanding of the importance of branding, product storytelling, and digital marketing. The impact of this activity not only increases the economic value of products but also strengthens local cultural identity and encourages digital transformation in the craft sector. Thus, digital technology-based craft product innovation can be an effective strategy for sustainable community empowerment.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the leadership skills of students who serve as members of the student council (OSIS) at SMKN 1 Cibatu at Cibatu District, Purwakarta Regency. The background of this activity is based on the potenial development of reflective thinking, decision-making accuracy, and concentration among students in carrying out leadership roles. The method used combines community education through lectures and interactive training through interactive games involving 45 students as participants. The evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test to measure participants’ improvement. The results show a significant increase in all measured indicators, where reflective thinking improved from 10% to 100%, while decision-making accuracy and concentration increased from 30% to 100%. These findings indicate that the training method is effective in improving students’ cognitive and behavioral abilities, particularly in leadership aspects. Therefore, this activity provides a positive contribution to the development of students’ leadership capacity to support their roles in school organizations

Abstract

Adolescence is a crucial transitional phase in the human life cycle, characterized by rapid biological, cognitive, and emotional changes. Psychologically, this stage is often associated with a period of storm and stress, during which individuals experience emotional instability due to simultaneous physical, social, and psychological transformations. Such conditions make adolescents particularly vulnerable to negative environmental influences that may lead to delinquency and risky behaviors if not properly addressed. This community service activity introduces an integrative approach that combines preventive education with psychoeducation to support adolescents in understanding and preventing such behaviors. The objective of this activity is to describe the implementation of preventive education and to explore participants’ responses and engagement during the program. The activity employed a preventive health education approach delivered through direct face-to-face interaction at Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS), East Lombok. Participants consisted of 35 students, both male and female, accompanied by two teachers. Observational findings indicated a high level of enthusiasm and engagement throughout the activity. This was reflected in students’ active participation during ice-breaking sessions, discussions, and question-and-answer interactions, which contributed to an interactive and supportive learning environment. Students demonstrated responsiveness to the material presented, indicating an increased awareness and understanding of delinquency and risky behaviors. These findings suggest that interactive and participatory educational methods are well-received and can support adolescents’ awareness. However, further evaluation using structured measurement tools is recommended to assess outcomes more comprehensively.
